Cincinnati native Roger Staubach, a former Purcell (now Purcell Marian) High School standout and Pro Football Hall of Famer, will be Drew Pearson's presenter at the 2021 Pro Football Hall of Fame induction in August - according to a report Thursday via Twitter from Newy Scruggs - who said Pearson confirmed the news to NBC Sports in Dallas/Fort Worth.
In February, Staubach helped keep Pearson from learning prematurely of his Pro Football Hall of Fame election. Staubach and Pearson were teammates with the Dallas Cowboys from 1973 to 1979.
Staubach, 79, was born in Cincinnati and raised in Silverton. In Dec. 2019, the throwback uniforms Navy wore for its annual rivalry game against Army paid tribute to the 1963 Heisman Trophy winner.
The Class of 2021 will be formally enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Sun., Aug. 8.
