Another LSU Tiger is headed to Cincinnati.
The Bengals selected defensive tackle Tyler Shelvin in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Shelvin was the Bengals second of three picks in round four.
Shelvin was part of LSU's 2019 national title team. He registered 39 tackles and two pass deflections in 2019. The defensive tackle opted out of the 2020 college football season over coronavirus concerns.
The defensive tackle played two total seasons at LSU. He appeared in 21 games (14 starts). He produced 48 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and a sack during his time in Baton Rouge.
Shelvin is a space eater in the middle. The 6-foot-3, 346-pound defender is a natural 1-technique defensive tackle.
"Tyler (Shelvin) is a big human being, who is a very good athlete for a guy who is that big," Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo said. "He's gonna really help us in the run game."
