Ohio reported 10,698 new cases of coronavirus in the week ending Sunday, down 3.9% from the previous week . Then, 11,131 new cases of the virus that causes COVID-19 were reported.
Ohio ranked 25th among the states where coronavirus was spreading the fastest on a per-person basis, a USA TODAY Network analysis of Johns Hopkins University data shows. In the latest week coronavirus cases in the United States decreased 15.4% from the week before, with 344,463 cases reported. With 3.51% of the country's population, Ohio had 3.11% of the country's cases in the last week. Across the country, 16 states had more cases in the latest week than they did in the week before.
Across Ohio, cases fell in 44 counties, with the best declines in Franklin, Hamilton and Erie counties. In Ohio's Greater Cincinnati counties, cases fell in Hamilton, Butler and Warren counties but rose in Brown and Clermont counties.
Hamilton County reported 618 cases and seven deaths in the latest week. A week earlier, it had reported 706 cases and one deaths. Throughout the pandemic the county has reported 79,544 cases and 1,190 deaths.
Brown County reported 22 cases and one deaths in the latest week. A week earlier, it had reported 18 cases and one deaths. Throughout the pandemic the county has reported 3,906 cases and 57 deaths.
Butler County reported 206 cases and three deaths in the latest week. A week earlier, it had reported 254 cases and zero deaths. Throughout the pandemic the county has reported 38,200 cases and 579 deaths.
Clermont County reported 124 cases and three deaths in the latest week. A week earlier, it had reported 95 cases and zero deaths. Throughout the pandemic the county has reported 19,669 cases and 235 deaths.
Warren County reported 132 cases and three deaths in the latest week. A week earlier, it had reported 150 cases and zero deaths. Throughout the pandemic the county has reported 24,175 cases and 298 deaths.
In Northern Kentucky, cases fell in Campbell and Kenton counties but rose in Boone and Grant counties.
Boone County reported 170 cases and two deaths in the latest week. A week earlier, it had reported 144 cases and four deaths. Throughout the pandemic the county has reported 13,750 cases and 120 deaths.
Campbell County reported 33 cases and zero deaths in the latest week. A week earlier, it had reported 41 cases and one deaths. Throughout the pandemic the county has reported 8,350 cases and 70 deaths.
Grant County reported 15 cases and zero deaths in the latest week. A week earlier, it had reported nine cases and zero deaths. Throughout the pandemic the county has reported 2,251 cases and 18 deaths.
Kenton County reported 82 cases and two deaths in the latest week. A week earlier, it had reported 121 cases and three deaths. Throughout the pandemic the county has reported 16,163 cases and 171 deaths.
In Indiana, cases fell in Ohio and Ripley counties and rose in Dearborn and Switzerland counties.
Dearborn County reported 36 cases and zero deaths in the latest week. A week earlier, it had reported 29 cases and zero deaths. Throughout the pandemic the county has reported 5,765 cases and 76 deaths.
Ohio County reported one cases and zero deaths in the latest week. A week earlier, it had reported three cases and zero deaths. Throughout the pandemic the county has reported 562 cases and 11 deaths.
Ripley County reported 15 cases and one deaths in the latest week. A week earlier, it had reported 18 cases and one deaths. Throughout the pandemic the county has reported 3,379 cases and 70 deaths.
Switzerland County reported five cases and zero deaths in the latest week. A week earlier, it had reported four cases and zero deaths. Throughout the pandemic the county has reported 778 cases and eight deaths.

Ohio ranked 32nd among states in share of people receiving at least one shot, with 40.8% of its residents at least partially vaccinated. The national rate is 44.3%, a USA TODAY analysis of CDC data shows. The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, which are the most used in the United States, require two doses administered a few weeks apart.
In the week ending Sunday, Ohio reported administering another 527,472 vaccine doses, including 156,395 first doses. In the previous week, the state administered 663,067 vaccine doses, including 203,790 first doses. In all, Ohio reported it has administered 8,530,342 total doses.
Within Ohio, the worst weekly outbreaks on a per-person basis were in Defiance, Lucas and Cuyahoga counties. Adding the most new cases overall were Cuyahoga County, with 1,767 cases; Franklin County, with 1,236 cases; and Lucas County, with 703. Weekly case counts rose in 40 counties from the previous week. The worst increases from the prior week's pace were in Summit, Stark and Allen counties.
In Ohio, 96 people were reported dead of COVID-19 in the week ending Sunday. In the week before that, 10 people were reported dead.
A total of 1,075,004 people in Ohio have tested positive for the coronavirus since the pandemic began, and 19,284 people have died from the disease, Johns Hopkins University data shows. In the United States 32,421,641 people have tested positive and 577,045 people have died.
