Bear dies after being struck by car on highway in Kentucky


A black bear that weighed about 350 to 400 pounds was struck and killed by a car along a Kentucky highway Wednesday.Wildlife officials and police in Muldraugh were called out Wednesday night for a report of a bear that was struck by a car.According to officials with the Muldraugh Police Department, the black bear was struck around 10 p.m. by a car occupied by a family of three.The accident happened on 31-W (Dixie Highway), not far from Park Ridge Road.Officials said the bear died and was removed from the roadway with the help of Fish and Wildlife. They believe the bear was about 350-400 pounds.None of the people in the car were injured.The road was shut down while officials removed the bear.
