

A 23-year-old man from New Richmond has been found dead, a week after he went missing, his family confirmed Tuesday. The mother of Robert "Bobby" Farrell Jr. said he was found dead Monday night. "This week has been pure torture. The most horrific and agonizing pain I hope no one in the world ever has to go through," his mother said Tuesday. The young dad had been missing since July 6, when he was last seen going for a drive with his best friend, his family said. Family members said his best friend, Keyanta Gardner, told them he took Farrell to nearby Dee's Dairy Bar, where Farrell got into a black car with tinted windows. They said Farrell sent text messages that night saying he was with an ex-girlfriend but she told them he was not.New Clermont County court records show Gardner has been arrested for tampering with evidence.They also show a charge of obstructing official business was filed but dismissed.According to a Clermont County criminal complaint, Gardner admitted to making false and misleading statements to Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation agents since Farrell's disappearance.The complaint reads, "On 7/11/2021 during a voluntary interview with Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation agents, Keyanta Gardner knowingly made false and misleading statements in an attempt to mislead the investigation into the disappearance of Robert Farrell Jr. Gardner admitted to making false and misleading statements to investigators since Farrell's disappearance on 7/6/2021." Family members said Farrell didn't take his wallet, cash, cards or ID and did not have a driver's license or a car. Gardner is booked in the Clermont County Jail.His bond is set at $100,000.He is set to have a preliminary hearing next Wednesday afternoon.Farrell leaves behind a 4-year-old daughter.The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation has been handling the case.
