CINCINNATI (WKRC) - This is the last weekend to see one of the polar bears at the Cincinnati Zoo.
Nineteen-year-old female Anana has been with the 30-year-old male polar bear Little One for three breeding seasons without producing a cub, so the Association of Zoos & Aquariums' Species Survival Plan recommended a new match.
Anana is heading to the Detroit Zoo to be with a male bear who has had cubs in the past.
Zoo officials say they'll miss her but know she’s going to a good home and the best situation for her to reproduce and contribute to the dwindling polar bear population.
