PRICE HILL, Ohio (WKRC) - Police are testing ShotSpotter technology in the Price Hill neighborhood Monday -- not far from where a 14-year-old boy was killed over the weekend.
ShotSpotter is the gunshot notification system that helps police respond more quickly and accurately when shots are fired. It's expected to be operational by the end of this week.
"Those that are engaged in gun violence out there know that it will now trigger a response and that the police will show up. No longer will it be unknown, random, we got away with it. And that's what we're going to take to Price Hill," said Cincinnati Police Department Lt. Col. Paul Neudigate.
Police say if it had been in place this past weekend, investigators would have been on site much sooner and they may even be further along in the investigation.
