An Ohio animal shelter is telling pet owners to be mindful of their pet's paws during the high heat days.The Animal Shelter Society, Inc. said with the high heat, sidewalks and pavements can have the potential to burn or injure a pet's paw.The shelter shared an image of a dog's paw injured due to hot pavement as a reminder to pet owners.Pet owner's can avoid any burns by having cool water handy, walk their pets during cooler hours in the morning and at night and by paying extra attention to their pet during high temperature days."If you cannot put the back of your hand down on the pavement for 5 seconds - it is too hot for your pet. It is extremely painful and difficult for them," the shelter said on Facebook.
