Lakota West High School coach Tom Bolden knew he was on to something when he looked at his first group of Firebird football players three years ago.
One of them was Tegra Tshabola, then a 6-foot-6-inch, 300-pound sophomore. Now fluctuating between 330-340 pounds, Tshabola has paved the way for Lakota West offensive as they've gone 26-7 in three seasons since Bolden moved over from Colerain.
As a result, Tshabola signed with Ohio State Wednesday afternoon along with highly-touted defensive back Jyaire Brown. Tshabola committed to the Buckeyes over a year and a half ago and will join Brown in playing in January's All-American Bowl in San Antonio.

"It's an awesome opportunity," Tshabola said. "I've seen all these guys that played in this game, all these superstars that played in this game. It's awesome to step in their shoes a little bit and get a glimpse of the future."
The game often attracts future NFL talent. Other locals recently playing in the game include Paris Johnson Jr. (St. Xavier, Princeton, Ohio State), Michael Mayer (Covington Catholic, Notre Dame) and Evan Prater (Wyoming, Cincinnati Bearcats).
Tshabola had multiple Division I offers, including from LSU, Florida, Michigan, Oklahoma, Penn State and USC, among others.
