TALKING ABOUT WHAT IS HAPPENING, WE HAD A BREAK IN THE ACTION. YOU CAN SEE RIGHT NOW, IT IS NOT TERRIBLY HEAVY. ONE OR 2 INCHES OF SLEET IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE. WITH TEMPERATURES DROPPING INTO THE SINGLE DIGIT, THAT ICE IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE. IT ALMOST WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER WITH THE SNOWFALL. WE HAD A DRY SLOT, WHICH IS SHUTTING OFF SOME OF THE HEAVY SLEET AND SNOWFALL. IT IS SLEET PRETTY MUCH THROUGH MIDDLETOWN AND TRENTON. TO THE SOUTH, STARTING TO FILL BACK IN. IT IS SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN THAT YOU ARE FINDING TO THE SOUTH OF CINCINNATI. THIS SPEAKS TO HOW CLOSE WE WERE TO SIGNIFICANT SNOWFAL THE RADAR IS HAVING A TOUGH TIME DEPICTING WHAT IS SNOW AND WHAT IS SLEET. THE STORM IS SO WRAPPED UP. IT HAS INGESTED SOME DRY AIR INTO IT. THAT IS IMPACTING OUR SNOWFALL TOTALS IN THE REGION. THE SNOW IS STILL DOWN HER IN TENNESSEE. YOU CAN SEE THAT THE SNOW WILL HAVE TO MOVE THROUGH THE VALLEY OVERNIGHT TONIGHT. WHAT HAS HAPPENED IS, PLENTY COLD ENOUGH FOR SOME SNOWFALL. 33° AND IT IS MELTING THOSE SNOWFLAKES DOWN. PROBABLY A COUPLE INCHES OF SNOWFALL WITH HEAVY AMOUNT WHERE YOU GO BACK OVER TO SNOWFALL A LITTLE BIT SOONER. THE OTHER BI STORY, WIND CHILLS DROPPING CLOSE TO ZERO OR BELOW. WITH TEMPERATURES NOT RISING ANYTIME SOON, THE ROADS WILL STAY A MESS INTO TOMORROW MORNING. Sleet usurped Cincinnati’s winter storm Monday evening, expected to significantly cut back on projected snow totals across most of the area.The slushy mess is expected to cause chaos across area roadways, and motorists are advised to avoid travel unless absolutely necessary.While sleet is no less dangerous, earlier forecast snow totals will be cut back significantly across much of the area.
