The Cincinnati Bengals announced Willie Anderson and Isaac Curtis have been selected as the newest members of the Ring of Honor.
Anderson and Curtis now join the Bengals’ inaugural Ring of Honor class inducted last season, which included Ken Anderson, team founder/head coach Paul Brown, Anthony Muñoz and Ken Riley.
The team will honor Curtis and Anderson during halftime of Cincinnati’s home Thursday night game against the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 29.
“These are two of our finest all-time players,” said Bengals President Mike Brown. “Willie was as good a right offensive tackle as you could draw up. He had it all — strength, movement and attitude. Isaac had incredible speed along with great hands. This is evidence for how our fans felt about Isaac during his career. They knew he was special. The Bengals are fortunate to have both of these outstanding players in the Ring of Honor.”
Anderson played right tackle for the Bengals from 1996-2007. As a four-time Pro Bowler, he played in 181 games for the Bengals, tied for eighth on the team’s all-time list.
Curtis, to this day, holds the team record for average yards per reception (17.07). He also was a four-time Pro Bowl player whose career in Cincinnati lasted from 1973-84. He ranks third in team history in both career receiving yards (7101) and 100-yard games (20), as well as fourth in receiving touchdowns (53).
The decision to put Anderson and Curtis in the Ring of Honor came from Bengals’ season ticket members who selected these legends from a ballot that featured 15 individuals.
