<p>CINCINNATI — A woman is dead following an early morning Christmas Day crash in West Price Hill.</p>
<p>Cincinnati Police identified the woman as 28-year-old Ladre Gibson.</p>
<p>Police said officers responded to the crash around 2:30 a.m. on 4165 West 8th St.</p>
<p>According to investigators, Gibson was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Classic west on West 8th St. and attempted to turn left on Trenton Avenue when an unknown driver in a 2018 Hyundai Tucson was also traveling west on West 8th St. and approached the intersection with Trenton Avenue. As Gibson was attempting to make the left turn, police said the driver of the Hyundai Tucson went left of the centerline and hit Gibson, causing both vehicles to overturn.</p>
<p>WCPO's crew at the scene saw both cars flipped near the Sunoco. One was in the street, the other near the gas pumps.</p>
<p>Investigators said the driver of the Hyundai Tucson was able to get out of the car and left the scene on foot before police arrived.</p>
<p>Gibson suffered serious injuries from the crash and was taken to UC Medical Center, where she died, police said.</p>
<p>Our reporter at the scene talked to someone who saw the crash.</p>
<p>He claims one of those cars was going too fast on the wrong side of the road before it hit the other car.</p>
<p>"It's scary. It's scary. You know, and I try to talk to the younger generation because they think it's cool to be high-risk drivers and doing 50, 60 miles an hour in a 25 mile zone, 35 mile zone. Like, it's just not safe, you know. And it's definitely not safe to be around here drinking and driving. You know what I'm saying? Definitely not. So you mix the alcohol with unsafe drivers and it's a recipe for disaster," said YC Arnold, who witnessed the crash.</p>
<p>Cincinnati Police believe excessive speed and impairment were factors that led up to the crash.</p>
<p>West 8th Street between Pleasure Drive and Kreis Lane was closed for several hours, but reopened around 8 a.m., police said.</p>
<p>Cincinnati Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to call the Cincinnati Police's Traffic Unit at 1-513-352-2514.</p>
<p><i>This story is developing and will be updated when more information becomes available.</i></p>

<p>CINCINNATI — Officials with the Metropolitan Sewer District and the Cincinnati Fire Department are investigating a potential gasoline spill into the sewer system in West Price Hill, the two agencies announced over the weekend.</p>
<p>According to a news release, investigators believe the leak occurred on Dec. 24, potentially from a gas station. As part of the investigation, a gas station at Eighth Street and Pedretti Avenue closed and emptied its underground storage tanks.</p>
<p>Investigators believe as many as 360 gallons of gasoline may have entered the sewer system. CFD became aware of the potential leak after nearby residents reported odors in their homes.</p>
<p>MSD began flushing the sewers with water on Dec. 24 in an attempt to dilute the spill and suppress the odor.</p>
<p>MSD officials advised residents living on Cappel Drive and Carnation and Hermosa avenues to take the following precautions:</p>
<ul>
<li>Limit ignition sources such as candles and any other flaming devices</li>
<li>Run water in basement floor drains to reduce fumes and odors in the home (for drains without traps, they should be plugged to prevent odors)</li>
<li>Crack windows in the home to reduce fumes</li>
</ul>

					A 37-year-old man has now been indicted on multiple charges, accused of killing his pregnant girlfriend and her unborn child in Cincinnati’s West Price Hill neighborhood. Antonio Wilcox was indicted on charges of murder, felonious assault, involuntary manslaughter and having weapons under disability. He’s accused of the slaying of Michelle McDonald, 31, and her unborn child, named Aaliyah Marie McCoy.On July 16, while at a family party, Wilcox approached McDonald from behind and shot her in the back of the head, Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters said Friday. McDonald died instantly. She was eight and a half months pregnant.Doctors at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center were able to deliver her baby, but that child died a day later.“I am devastated for this family. I cannot even imagine the gut-wrenching pain this loss has caused,” Deters said. “Unfortunately, the life lead by Wilcox is becoming more common and acceptable. This would have been his fourth child with four different women. DNA testing is still pending on Aaliyah.”If convicted on all counts, Wilcox faces a maximum possible sentence of life in prison.

<p>CINCINNATI — Longtime West Price Hill tailor, Joseph ‘Peppe’ Ramundo died of natural causes, surrounded by family on Tuesday morning.</p>
<p>The family announced his passing in a Facebook post on Ramundo's business page, <a class="Link" href="https://www.pepperamundo.com/">Peppe Ramundo Menswear &amp; Black Tie.</a> </p>
<p>    <iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FPeppeRamundoMenswear%2Fposts%2F10159340597834570&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=500" width="500" height="362" style="border:none;overflow:hidden" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="true" allow="autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share"></iframe></p>
<p>He was a well-known tailor who made suits for many of Cincinnati’s most famous faces – like players from on the Reds’ Big Red Machine team. </p>
<p>Ramundo began his tailoring career in Italy, where he was born, before coming to Cincinnati and taking up the mantle of master designer for Hyde Park Clothes in Newport. At the same time, he worked a second job at Dino's International Menswear in downtown Cincinnati.</p>
<p>He started Peppe Ramundo Custom Tailors, located in Western Hills, in 1967 and later brought his son, Carmen, into the business. </p>
<p>Visitation and funeral information can be found <a class="Link" href="https://www.mrfh.com/obituary/joseph-peppe-ramundo?lud=A7A6CAB4D92F26DD1A6825F1653BC46B&amp;fbclid=IwAR21z2JuB0ety6HQRFBAKic-BRMjqje5uGkAP9uyo3xbcZuYEyWAI8nT8QY">here.</a></p>

					A 32-year-old tow truck driver from Northern Kentucky will be laid to rest Sunday after he was killed on the job.Glenn Ewing was helping a driver Sunday night on Rapid Run Pike in West Price Hill. He was loading the customer's disabled vehicle onto his truck bed when he was hit by a passing car. He died Monday.Police say the 20-year-old driver who hit him was sober. They do not yet know if excessive speed was a factor in the crash.Ewing's fiancée Bekka Guy is pleading with drivers to pay better attention to emergency vehicles and workers on the road."That's what I really want people to understand. At the end of the day, they all have families that they have to come home to," she said.Her last text to her fiancé went unanswered."The last text I sent him was at 2 something in the morning," Guy explained. "Hey baby, I'm getting worried. Are you OK?"Guy and Ewing have been engaged for a few years and were set to be married this October. He was the sole provider for his fiancée and daughter, 5-year-old Miracle and 3-year-old Willow."I would want her to know him like I knew him, so I'm going to try to keep that memory alive as best as I can," Guy said. "He was caring, loving, kind, generous."Guy said Ewing was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was assisting a driver near Pete Rose Way at the Banks last July when he heard gunshots. Three teenagers in a car had just been shot."He didn't think twice. He literally just ran," Guy said, recounting the story he told her. "He did call 911. He took off his belt and used it as a tourniquet."She said he used his face mask as well. All three shooting victims survived.Ewing was an organ donor and in death, gave the gift of tissue and cornea."It does not surprise me one bit. He would literally give anything, everything that he could for somebody," Guy said. The family is collecting donations via GoFundMe for funeral expenses and to support Ewing's fiancée and children. Tow truck drivers from around the region will pay tribute to Ewing Sunday morning. They will gather at the AAA Club Alliance - Cincinnati fleet garage at 11 a.m. and pray during Ewing's funeral service. Then, they will lead a procession to the Ludlow police department. That is from Ewing's casket will be loaded onto a AAA flatbed truck which will lead the procession for his "final ride."
