Surveillance footage released by the Crime Stoppers of Greater Atlanta shows a recent failed robbery attempt at a nail salon. Watch the video above to see the failed robbery attempt.The video shows the man entering the salon, demanding money and acting as though he had a gun under his bag. But then, no one complied and he eventually walked back outside. Atlanta police are still looking for the suspect, who did allegedly take someone's cell phone during the incident, but otherwise walked away empty-handed. No one was injured in the incident and police have since recovered the stolen phone.

Will Smith said he is"deeply remorseful" about slapping Chris Rock on stage during this year's Oscar's ceremony in a new video posted on social media on Friday.

The video, which was to his verified Instagram account, begins with the words, "It's been a minute."

"Over the last few months, I've been doing a lot of thinking and personal work...," the statement reads. "You asked a lot of fair questions that I wanted to take some time to answer."

Smith can be heard sighing, then enters the screen and addresses the camera about why he didn't apologize to Rock during his Oscars acceptance speech following his win for best actor for his role in "King Richard."

"I was fogged out by that point," Smith said. "It's all fuzzy. I've reached out to Chris and the message that came back is that he's not ready to talk and when he is, he will reach out. So I will say to you Chris, I apologize to you. My behavior was unacceptable and I'm here whenever you are ready to talk."

Smith also apologized to Rock's mother, family and his brother, Tony Rock, who had starred in the 2007 sitcom "All of Us," which was created by Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith.

"We had a great relationship," Smith said. "Tony Rock was my man and this is probably irreparable."

Smith walked onstage at the awards show and slapped Chris Rock, who was presenting at the time, after he made a joke about Smith's wife's shaved head.

Jada Pinkett Smith suffers hair loss due to alopecia, an autoimmune condition that can lead to hair loss.

Smith answered the question as to whether or not his wife, after rolling her eyes at Rock's joke, had asked him to do something by saying she had not.

He also apologized to her, their children, and his fellow Academy Award nominees.

Smith said he "spent the last three months replaying an understanding the nuance and complexity of what happened in that moment."

"I'm not going to try to unpack all of that right now, but I can say to all of you, there is no part of me that thinks that was the right way to behave in that moment," he said. "No part of me that thinks that is the optimal way to handle a feeling of disrespect or insult."

A little bit of good news and a lot of luck coming out of a destructive wildfire burning near the California-Oregon border as a photojournalist saved a puppy wandering around the ruins of the McKinney Fire.

Jonathan Rivas said he arrived at the community of Klamath River early Saturday morning, just hours after the wildfire broke out where he said there was a lot of damage, with trees and homes burned.

Rivas said he was finishing filming one neighborhood when he heard yelping.

"I heard a yelp in the distance, but I didn't really know what it was, I thought it was an injured deer or one of the wildlife that's there," the AIO Filmz photojournalist said. "All of a sudden, this little puppy comes and runs up to me. I was super shocked to see that come from the rubble there."

The puppy was clearly excited to see Rivas in the video.

The puppy allowed Rivas to pick him up and put him in the back of his car.

"He was very excited, he was wagging his tail, I am talking to him like I'm talking to my dog, I picked him up, put him in the trunk of my car," Rivas said.

He gave him some water before dropping him off at a shelter.

Rivas posted the video on social media, where he found the puppy's family. The puppy has been reunited with its family.

"Reuniting it with their family and after hearing their story, it makes me feel good, I am just happy, I was at the right place at the right time," Rivas said.

A 7-Eleven employee in Oregon went above and beyond her job description recently when she helped deliver a baby during her shift.

Around 3 a.m. on Sept. 6, Karin Warren said a man asked for help calling 911 because his wife was in labor.

The situation that followed was caught on the convenience store's surveillance camera.

Warren told KEZI that after she called 911, she went to be with the expectant mother until an ambulance arrived.

"That's when she stuck her legs up on my shoulders and I was like, 'woah, OK,'" Warren said.

Warren said she went into "mama mode" and helped the woman through what happened next — the arrival of her newborn son.

"I always wanted to see a baby be born other than mine," Warren said. "It was incredible."

The parents Warren helped were originally from California and trying to find the closest hospital. They were so grateful for her help in a stressful situation that they made Warren the child's godmother.

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. —

A man visiting Hilton Head Island in South Carolina with his family captured cellphone video of an alligator charging at a fisherman.

"My wife and three kids decided to go for a bike ride," said Micah Kimberlin, who recorded the video. "We came across a couple people standing [near a pond] and then we see an alligator...this gentleman is fishing kind of far away and it's headed directly towards him. That's when I started filming this alligator heading toward him."

No one was injured.

The alligator re-entered the pond shortly after charging on land.

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources said it is likely that the alligator associated humans with food.

"My opinion is it was probably an alligator that has been fed," said Morgan Hart, alligator project coordinator for SCDNR. "It has learned that people fishing there have given it food in the past. It is very hard to unteach an alligator that people mean food."

Hart said if you're ever fishing in a pond with a gator, you should keep your distance.

"If you're seeing alligators, they're approaching you, they're interested in your bait, your line, your bobber, you should pull all that gear out, step away, give them time to move on," she said.

Kimberlin's brother-in-law captured a photo of crews removing alligators from the pond where the incident happened.

SCDNR wants to remind everyone that a fed gator is a dead gator.

"Once an alligator learns to approach people for food, that is a dangerous animal that has to be removed," Hart said.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. (Video above: WJLA via CNN) —

After a runaway dog named Moose fell through the ice of a frozen creek, his community came to his rescue.

Kellie and Louis Nicolao recently dropped Moose off with their dog sitter Nicolina Converso in Maryland before taking a trip to California.

"Moose seemed pretty comfortable in my house," Converso told WJLA.

But soon, Moose was on the loose.

"I opened the door to pick up a tree on my patio and he just went on out. And we couldn't catch him. We just couldn't," Converso said.

She eventually texted Moose's owners about his escape. From across the country, they reached out to a local Facebook group for help.

Moose sightings were eventually reported to a group called "Operation Fur Fugitive."

"I was getting phone calls and text messages and emails and Facebook messages. It was just non-stop," Converso said.

Someone eventually saw Moose on a frozen creek in the area and community members gathered to help. On top of that, his owners returned just in time and were the perfect people to get him to safety.

Turns out, Luis Nicolao is a U.S. Naval Academy water polo coach and was able to jump in and get Moose out of the frigid water.

"I went from this point of complete despair to, here I got a chance to save his life," Luis Nicolao said. "It was overwhelming, it was awesome and to all the people, the community, you know we teach this all the time in sports and the academy, it's community over individual. It's team over individual. And everybody came together for this one little dog and I'll be forever grateful."

An Ohio man suspected of driving while intoxicated didn't "flip out" when police pulled him over, but he did do a backflip to try to prove he was sober.

The whole traffic stop was caught on body camera. The video shows 27-year-old Tanner Watson telling a police officer from Broadway Heights that he'd had three or four beers.

"Your driving's pretty bad. Your eyes are super glossy," the officer is heard telling Watson.

The officer could also smell alcohol and started the usual sobriety tests, having Watson follow his finger with his eyes and walk in a straight line.

Instead, Watson took off his cap and suggested a different challenge — a backflip — which he completed successfully.

"That's good, man. I can't do that," the officer responds.

Although Watson completed the backflip, he still had to complete the usual sobriety tests and was eventually placed under arrest.

Watson joins the ranks of others who over-performed during DUI stops, including a man from Florida who did a cartwheel and a Canadian crooner, who sang the lyrics to Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" flawlessly for six minutes.

A little girl decided to seize the spotlight during her dance recital in Louisiana. Saylor Knight, the daughter of Heather and Jason Knight, was performing in her dance recital with Elite Dance in Covington when she decided it was time for a solo. The hysterical video shows Saylor stealing the show with her moves. Her parents said it looked like Saylor performed her own solo during the group routine. Watch the funny video in the player above.

Ohio school bus driver April Wise is being honored and hailed as a hero for saving a student’s life.

Her quick thinking stopped a young boy from getting hit by a car.

Now, school officials want to use her action as an example to hold up for other bus drivers.

“For what she did that day, we definitely appreciate it,” the child’s father said.

Wise was honored with an award from the district law enforcement and state representatives on Monday.

“It’s a testament to what people should do and what they actually do,” State Rep. Bernie Willis said.

Video from the school bus shows the reason Wise was honored. She was paying close attention to what was happening around her and even knew the exact student that was getting off the bus.

“He is one of my quickest students to get on and off the bus. He is super quick,” Wise said.

But Wise was quicker. She grabbed the student before he got down the steps, saving him from getting hit by a car.

“The only thing that went through my brain was to keep him from getting off the bus,” Wise said.

Wise said she always has to be on high alert though since drivers consistently choose to ignore school buses on the road.

“They do, they do run our reds quick a bit,” Wise said.

Now, the video of her saving a student will be used as an example of what is expected when caring for a bus full of students.

“I so don’t deserve this, but I’m glad it’s bringing awareness and stuff, and hopefully, more people will take it into consideration,” Wise said.

It's a classic love story about a French bulldog and "Superman" star Henry Cavill.

Too bad Cavill doesn't know about it.

About six months ago, Heather Land was watching TV when her French bulldog, Rory, became smitten by Cavill.

Now, every time he's on TV, she moves closer to the screen, seemingly entranced by his voice.

"If he comes on the screen and she hears his voice she will wake up out of a deep sleep and pop up and look for him," Land told CNN.

One video even shows Rory struggling to get out from under the covers to get a closer look.

This is not the norm for Rory, Land said. Many times, Rory isn't excited by people and never used to watch TV.

Now, even if Land displays a photo of Cavill, Rory can't look away.

"I don't think she'd even look at pictures of me like that if I wasn't around and I'm her favorite person," Land said.

Videos of Rory's infatuation had TikTok fans sending so much Cavill-themed merchandise, it's become a shrine of sorts.

"It's just a one-way love story," Land said.

She's hopeful that one day, the two can meet in person.

BRIDGEWATER TOWNSHIP, N.J. —

A video showing police officers breaking up a fight between a Black teenager and a white teenager at a New Jersey mall has prompted outrage over the police response.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy said Wednesday that the "appearance of what is racially disparate treatment is deeply, deeply disturbing."

One video of the incident reviewed by CNN shows the boys arguing before the white teenager points his finger at the Black teenager's face, and the Black teenager pushes the white teenager's hand back. The white teenager pushes the Black teenager, who begins to throw punches at the other boy. The white teenager punches back.

The Black teenager ends up on the ground. Two Bridgewater Township police officers arrive and separate the two boys.

The Black teenager begins to get up and is pinned to the ground by one officer and rolled onto his stomach, with his hands behind his back. The other officer pushes the white teenager onto a nearby couch and then assists in handcuffing the Black teenager. Eventually, officers stand the handcuffed Black teenager up.

It is unclear how the incident escalated between the boys or what happened after the Black teenager was handcuffed.

CNN has not been able to speak to either teenagers or their parents.

The Black teenager, who identified himself by his first name, Kye, spoke to CNN affiliate WABC, saying his friend was arguing with the white teenager and he "just kind of jumped in" before it turned into a physical fight. He said the officers on scene "basically tackled (him) to the ground" and one officer put his knee on his back.

"The male officer put his knee in my back, then he started putting me in cuffs and then the female officer came over and put her knee on my upper back too, and started helping putting cuffs on me ... while (the white teenager) was just sitting down on the couch watching the whole thing," Kye said.

The Bridgewater Township Police Department said in a Facebook post that they know video of the incident has upset members of the community. They have asked the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office to investigate the incident.

"We recognize that this video has made members of our community upset and are calling for an internal affairs investigation," the department wrote.

"The officers were able to respond quickly to this incident and stop it from escalating because of a tip we received from the community. We have requested that the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office assist us in this matter and are requesting patience as we strictly adhere to the New Jersey Attorney General's Internal Affairs Directive.

"We appreciate the videos that we have already received from community members and ask that anyone who has a video of this incident please email it to tips@bridgewaterpd.com. The men and women of the Bridgewater Township Police Department are thankful for our community partners and look forward to continuing to build our positive relationships."

Gov. Murphy on Wednesday also said that the incident is "just another reminder that the progress we made on the relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve ... our work is not done, and we need to continue that."

The Somerset County Prosecutor's Office confirmed to CNN Wednesday that their Internal Affairs Unit is investigating both the fight and the police response. The Mayor of Bridgewater, Matthew Moench, said in a letter to residents that it is "not appropriate for [him] or any other Township official to comment any further" while the investigation is ongoing, but said he is "completely confident that the Prosecutor's review will be impartial, objective and thorough."

The New Jersey Attorney General's office also said in a statement Wednesday that they are working closely with the prosecutor's office on the investigation. "The SPCO will follow the Attorney General's Office's strict guidelines and procedures for investigating possible misconduct, and to ensure transparency and accountability," a spokesperson said.

Kye's mother told CNN affiliate WCBS that she wants the officers involved to become "unemployable."

"Maybe they could have broken up the fight and maybe set them aside and called their parents. No cuffs, no aggression. Dealt with them like they were teenagers," the mother said. "I'm not happy about it, and I do want those two cops to become unemployable. That's what I would like."

BARCELONA -- For adventure-seekers and travelers, the pandemic has put a damper on outdoor excursions. But for one filmmaker in Barcelona, a canceled family ski trip turned into an opportunity to bring adventure home to his living room.

Philipp Klein Herrero is fanatical about skiing.

“I am always skiing,” he said. “It's my passion.”

So, when the pandemic lockdown forced him to cancel a long-planned family ski trip to France, the filmmaker decided to create a video for them.

“I wanted to send them love from where I am and that's how the idea came about.”

He taped a GoPro to his ceiling and cleared the room, bringing to life the adventure of a lifetime – on his living room floor.

“It starts with me waking up on the side of the mountain in my sleeping bag and having my skis right next to me,” he said. “Once, it gets too steep to walk I switch into ice-climbing mode.”

Over the next six and a half hours Klein painstakingly captured this stop-motion odyssey – one frame at a time. He used bed sheets for the side of the mountain.

“And of course, nowadays the first thing you do when you reach the summit is you cheer and then take some selfies,” he said.

The 57 second film has gone viral, making international headlines.

“It just went absolutely crazy from there on,” he said.

Klein says his only true desire was to spread a message of hope, inspiring others in challenging times.

When asked what the most important thing that he wants people to take away from watching his video, he said that we all have to stay positive.

“We have a tricky situation among us, and we literally don’t know how it’s going to end up, but it’s within us to make the best out of it.”

He’s proving adventure can be found just about anywhere.

ORLANDO, Fla. —

Police and firefighters responded to a crane collapse in Orlando, Florida, on Tuesday morning.

Orlando fire officials say two people were treated at the scene and one person was hospitalized with a "traumatic injury."

Orlando Health officials say the patient that was transported to the hospital suffered injuries due to some debris.

A nearby dashcam belonging to Brett M. Bressler captured the moment the equipment came crumbling down.

Construction workers say the crane is used to lift segments of concrete from the ground. They said there are usually several people on the ground near it.

Rescue crews evacuated and evaluated several more workers then began the work of evaluating the property.

"Once the area is deemed safe, the investigation will occur. Authorities who have jurisdiction over that will take that over. We won't make any speculations about what caused it. Our main concern is making sure we've done everything we need to do make sure the area is safe," Orlando Fire Department special operations district chief Aaron Rhodes said.

Rhodes adds it's fortunate only the crane collapsed at the site.

"The reality is we didn't have a complete and total failure of the building which would've been a whole different incident." he said.

AdventHealth released the following statement:

"Earlier today, a construction crane on the greater AdventHealth Orlando campus collapsed into a parking garage under construction. One person was transported to a hospital and several others were evaluated on-scene. We are working with our construction partners to learn more."

Finnrock, the construction company running the project, sent in engineers to figure out what happened and what to do next.

Sister station WESH spoke with the CEO of the company but he wasn't able to share any details about the cause. He said the company's focus would be on its employees and figuring out what he called a very "complex situation."
