<p>We're learning more about the investigation into James and Jennifer Crumbley, the parents of the accused Oxford High School shooter, 15-year-old Ethan Crumbley.</p>
<p>The couple is facing involuntary manslaughter charges related to the shooting that left four students dead and seven other people injured. They were arrested at a building on Detroit's east side over the weekend.</p>
<p>The investigation has turned to the artist who owns the building. On Monday night, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at his home after he was questioned.</p>
<p>Now, we're learning that deputies found another vehicle the Crumbleys owned at a different hotel.</p>
<p>Police seized all of Andrezj Sikora's phones and computers, aiming to establish a timeline to see how much he knew and his true intentions to help the Crumbleys avoid arrest.</p>
<p>Deputies say he is cooperating.</p>
<p>"I believe at the end of the day they are going to conclude that he had no involvement with the Crumbleys," Sikora's attorney, Clarance Dass, said.</p>
<p>The 65-year-old owns an art studio, the same place Jame and Jennifer were found shacked up after failing to turn themselves into police.</p>
<p>Dass said Sikora didn't know the Crumbleys or their son were involved in the shooting at the high school. His attorney said he contacted the sheriff's office as soon as he did.</p>
<p>"He knows what he knows, and he knows that his involvement is so limited here, and most people don't go to the police voluntarily, and he did," Dass said.</p>
<p>James and Jennifer are facing four counts of involuntary manslaughter. Police say their son used a handgun they purchased to shoot up the school.</p>
<p>Dass said his client was trying to protect them from danger and not the police.</p>
<p>"The Crumbleys asked for a safe place to stay to avoid death threats that were surrounding their home," Dass said.</p>
<p>After a two-hour interview, deputies executed the search warrant and seized all his electronics.</p>
<p>Police are also looking into a second car belonging to the suspects parked at a different location than they were found.</p>
<p>"We uncovered a vehicle that the family also owned at a different hotel. There were a lot of things in motion here," Sheriff Michael Bouchard said. "The fact they were in a warehouse in a kind of an off-the-beaten-path in Detroit certainly is not indicative of someone who looked like they were going to surrender, in my experience."</p>
<p>Police will be checking Sikora's texts and phone records to see what kind of conversations he was having with the suspects before and after they were charged. </p>
<p><i>Staff at WXYZ in Detroit, Michigan, first reported this story.</i></p>

<p>Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald revealed what happened in the days leading up to the deadly Oxford High School shooting. She announced charges against the suspected shooter’s parents on Friday afternoon.</p>
<p>James Crumbley and Jennifer Crumbley are each facing four counts of involuntary manslaughter.</p>
<p>“Gun ownership is a right and with that right comes great responsibility,” said McDonald.</p>
<p>Officials say the gun used in the Nov. 30 attack was purchased by James Crumbley four days prior with his son present.</p>
<p>The suspect’s mother reportedly posted about the firearm on social media, saying, “Mom and son day, testing out his new Christmas present.”</p>
<p>The suspect also reportedly posted about the pistol, saying he got “his new beauty today.”</p>
<p>McDonald revealed that the day before the shooting, the suspect was reportedly searching for ammunition on his phone in class – when a teacher noticed. According to the prosecutor, a call and email allegedly went out to Jennifer about the incident, which was unanswered.</p>
<p>McDonald said Jennifer later texted her son about the incident, saying, “LOL, I’m not mad at you. You have to learn not to get caught.”</p>
<p>The following day of the shooting on Nov. 30, the prosecutor says the suspect was discovered drawing a disturbing note in class. </p>
<p>The drawings reportedly worried the teacher. McDonald said the suspect had pulled a gun pointing at the words, “the thoughts won’t stop, help me,” along with a drawing of a bullet with the words, “blood everywhere” and a drawing of a person who appeared to be shot twice near a laughing emoji and the words “my life is useless.”</p>
<p>The prosecutor said the suspect was called into a meeting with his parents at the school. McDonald said the suspect had already altered parts of the drawing at that time. </p>
<p>The parents were reportedly advised to get counseling for their son within 48 hours.</p>
<p>It was after that meeting that the suspect returned to class. The prosecutor said the parents failed to ask the suspect if he had the gun with him and failed to check his backpack.</p>
<p>“Of course, he shouldn’t have gone back to that classroom,” said McDonald at the press conference.</p>
<p>The shooting would unfold a short time later, leaving four people dead and seven injured. Tate Myre, 16, Madisyn Baldwin, 17, Hana St. Juliana, 14, and Justin Shilling, 17, lost their lives in the shooting.</p>
<p>The prosecutor said around 1:22 p.m. that day, Jennifer texted her son, “Ethan, don’t do it.”</p>
<p>About 10 minutes later, James reportedly called 911 to report a gun missing from their home. It was stored in an unlocked drawer in their bedroom, McDonald said.</p>
<p>“We need to do better in this country. We need to say enough is enough,” said the prosecutor.</p>

Ethan Crumbley, who is accused of killing four fellow students at a Michigan high school, will be tried as an adult and faces murder, assault and weapons charges. He will also face one count of terrorism causing death, a rare charge for a school shooting. The events unfolded Tuesday at Oxford High School when, law enforcement officials say, the 15-year-old shot at people in a school hallway, firing more than 30 shots at people and through classroom doors. Three people died Tuesday and another passed away at a hospital Wednesday.Seven others -- six students and a teacher -- were wounded, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said. The county's top prosecutor addressed the terrorism charge."There is no playbook about how to prosecute a school shooting and candidly, I wish I'd never even had -- it didn't occur so I wouldn't have to consider it, but when we sat down, I wanted to make sure all of the victims were represented in the charges that we filed against this individual," Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald told CNN. "If that's not terrorism, I don't know what is."She said there is a lot of digital evidence in the case -- video and things on social media."But you probably don't even need to see that to know how terrifying it is to be in close proximity of another student shooting and killing fellow students. I mean, it's terror," she added."Like every other child that was in that building, and I address that about the terrorism charge, we must have an appropriate consequence that speaks for the victims that were not killed or injured but also, they were affected, how do they go back to school?"She said many students can't eat or sleep."Their parents are sleeping next to them and we shouldn't ignore that," she told CNN. "There are obviously four children who were murdered and many others injured but over 1,000 were also victimized as well."At Crumbley's arraignment Wednesday, prosecutor Marc Keast said Crumbley came out of a school bathroom and started firing. Crumbley walked down the hall at a "methodical pace" and fired more shots. This continued for another four or five minutes and he went to another bathroom, Keast said. When deputies arrived, Crumbley put the gun down and surrendered, the prosecutor said. The judge entered a plea of not guilty per his attorney's request.Michigan law defines an act of terrorism as a "willful and deliberate act that is all of the following:""An act that would be a violent felony under the laws of this state, whether or not committed in this state."An act that the person knows or has reason to know is dangerous to human life."An act that is intended to intimidate or coerce a civilian population or influence or affect the conduct of government or a unit of government through intimidation or coercion."The criminal complaint against Crumbley refers to the third condition and says the act was committed against the Oxford High School community.Charging an accused school shooter with terrorism is rare. In 2018, an Ocala, Florida student who shot through a door and wounded another student, was charged with terrorism and later pleaded no contest to that count and other charges. That incident occurred two months after gunman Nikolas Cruz shot more than 30 people as he moved for more than 10 minutes through Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.Cruz was charged with 34 counts of premeditated murder and attempted murder. He did not face a terrorism charge. He recently pleaded guilty and is awaiting sentencing.
