NOW OUR CHIEF METEOROLOGY. YOU HEARD HER BRAGGING THERE ABOUTN I THIS EVENT THIS YEAR. NO RAIN. THE QUESTION IS HOW LONGO D WE GET TO ENJOY ALL OF THIS? OH THE ENTIRETY OF THE WEEKEND. KNOW WEAD H SO MUCH RAIN RIGHT DURING THE MONTH OF MAY. WHAT THE FIFTH WETTESTAY M ON RECORD HERE IN CINCINNATI. IT IS NICE TO GO INTO THE FIRST FULL WEEKEND OF JUNE WITH A START LIKE THIS. HOW CANOU Y COMPLAINN O A FRIDAY? NO COMPLAINT? NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL ABOUT THE WEATHER. I MEAN IT REALLY IS GOING TO BE ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR FOR EARLY SUMMER THIS WEEKEND TEMPERATURES RIGHT NOW RESTING COMFORTLYAB FOR MOST OF US RIGHT AROUND THAT 80 DEGREE MARK AROUND THE TRI-AT80ST HAMILTON 81 IN FAIRFIELD, IT’S0 8 IN BELU ASHTON ANDERSON 80 CURRENTLY IN COLERAIN AND YOU KNOW WHAT WE GET THE ADDED BENEFIT RIGHT OF NO HUMIDITY OUT THERE. SO IT REALLY FEELS GREAT AND IT’S GOING TO STAY FEELING TTHA WAY RIGHT THROUGH THE DURATION OF THE WEEKEND. WE’RE GONNA KEEP THE HUMIDITY LEVELS IN CHECK AND WE’RE GOING TO KEEP IT RAIN FREE AND TTHA MEANS LOTS OF SUNSHINE,UT B MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THAT SUNSCREEN IF YOU’RE SPENDING TIME OUTDOORS THIS WEEKEND, WEEKEND, AND I KNOW YOU WILL. WITH THIS TYPE OF WEATHER. HERE’S YOUR HOUR BY HOURN O A FRIDAY NIGHT. NOT BAD AT ALL TEMPERATURES WILL BE INHE T 70S THROUGH ABOUT NINE O’CLOCK AND THEN YOU KNOW WITH ETH AIR COMFORTABLY DRY. IT DOESN’T ALLOW IT TO COOL OFF A LITTLE BIT MORE EFFICIENTLY. NIGHT, SO WE’LL TUMBLE INTO THE 60S AND EVENTUALLY MAYBE A LITTLE COOL LATE. JUST KEEP THAT IN MIND AFTER MIDNIGHT. WE'L’ GET DOWN INTO THE 50S. SO COMFORT FORECAST THROUGHHE T IS PLEASANT AROUND HERE. HUMIDITY LEVELS WLIL SURGE EARLY XTNE WEEK THAT’S ON MONDAY AND THAT WILL BE ACCOMPANIED WITH THE THREAT FOR SHOWERS AND STORMS BY THEN. BUT FOR NOW THOUGH, LOO AKT THIS, WE’VE SCOURED OUT ALL THE MUGGY AIR ACROSS THE OHIO AND TENNESSEE RIVER VALLEYS. REMEMBER THOSE DEW POINTS IN THE 60S AND 70S. THEY ARE NO MORE SO VERY COMFORTABLE THERE HAS SETTLED IN THAT KEEPS A C OAPN THE ATM. HEARING YOU KNOW, WHAT FUTURE CAST IS QUIET ASIDE FMRO A FEW PASSING CLOUDS VERY LITTLE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS WEEKEND AROUND THE AREA. SO YOU WANT TO GET THE CAR WASHED YOU’RE THINKING ABOUT DOING A LITTLE STAINING ON THE DECK IF YOU’VE GOT HOUSE CHORES GOING ON MAYBE GETTING OUT ON ONE OF THE RIVERS OR LAKES. NICE LOOKING WEEKEND. YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE DISTUEDRB BY SHOWERS AND STORMS OR CAMPING OUT THERE. YOU DON’T HAVE TO WORRY AUTBO ANY TYPE OF WEATHER THE TROPICS THOUGH ARE BUSY. WE ARE STILL TRACKING. WHAT’S A SLOWLY ORGAN? THING ORT A LEAST ATTEMPTING TO SO ALEX DOWN HERE IN THE EASTERN GULF OF MEXICO. THE CENTER OF CIRCULATION IS STILLRE PTTY DISPLACED FROM THE CORE OF SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY. SO THE SYSMSTE UNDER A LOT OF WIND SHEAR. BASICALLY, WE’VE GOT WEST SOUTHWESTERLY WINDS RIPPING THE STORM APART. SO IT’S REALLY STRUGGLING TO ORGANIZE BUT I THINK THE IMPACTS WHETHER OR NOT IT GAINS A NAME OFFICIALLY THIS WEEKEND IS THE SAME YOU CAN ALREADY SEE ALL THESE BRIGHT COLORS. IN SHOWERS AND STORMS ACROSS CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN FLORIDA. SO FROM ANYWHEER FROM THE THEME PARKS SOUTH THIS WEEKEND IS ALL WASHED DOWN THERE AND FLORIDA IF YOU’REEA HDING THAT WAY FOR VACATION JUST SAY FOR EMPXALE AROUND HERE THOUGH. OUR WEATHER IS A VACATION 56 TONIGHT A LITTLE COOLUT O LATE FANTASTIC TOMORROW SUNNY AND 81. HERE’S YOUR DAY PLANNER STARTING OUT INHE T 50S AND THEN RISING INTO THE LOW 80S YOU’RE SEVEN DAY FORECAS ITS SHAKING OUT LIKE THIS THE NEXT CHANCE OF RAIN ON MONDAY TT NEXT WEATHER IMPACT DAY SUNDAY WILL FEEL A LITTLE BIT WARMER ARODUN HERE, BUT STILL NOT BAD. I CALL IT A POOL DAY 85 AND SUNNY SKIES. AND AGAIN YOUR RAIN ON MONDAY AND THEN SOME QUIET WEATHER FOR THEID MDL

Want a little summer fun without the kids? This giant, water-filled rock quarry is just outside Louisville and it's for adults only.Falling Rock Park, also known as The Quarry, is a place for floating and diving. It is alcohol- and drug-free, so leave that stuff at home. Staff members will search cars upon arrival. The water is maintained solely by rain, so no ground runoff dumps into the quarry. That means the water is clear, clean and natural, according to the park.Park officials deemed it too deep for swimming, so everyone is required to have a float of some sort. Those who come unprepared can buy a float or noodle at the entrance. FRP is also a place for scuba divers. Those who aren't certified can take classes. Reservations are required, so click here to make yours. It's $10 for the reservation ticket, and $25 for admission per person. The FRP LaGrange Quarry is located at 2201 Fendley Mill Road, LaGrange, KY 40031.For rules and regulations, click here.

Sunscreen is the most uh common and one of the easiest ways to do it, we just have to remember to use our sunscreens. They assume they can just apply it when they're already at their activity or they're already at the pool or the beach. But you actually have to apply it about 10 to 15 minutes beforehand. You also have to remember to reapply every 2 to 3 hours. We wanna make sure that we're using the type that is both U VA and U V B protective. So it's broad spectrum protection. We tend to quantify by uh you know, two ping pong balls worth of *** sunscreen and apply it all over. You want to make sure that you apply to all the areas that are exposed where it's, whether it's your face, your ears, hands, feet.

It's the unofficial start of summer, and as you spend more time outside, don't forget to protect your skin from the sun.Sunscreen is a great tool to do that. But health experts say many people may not apply it the correct way."Sunscreen is the most common and one of the easiest ways to do it, we just have to remember to use our sunscreens,” Dr. Susan Massick, a dermatologist at the Ohio University Wexner Medical Center, said. Dr. Massick said sunscreen mistakes are often made when applying it."They assume they can just apply it when they're already at their activity or they're already at the pool or the beach, but you actually have to apply it about 10-15 minutes beforehand,” Massick said. “You also have to remember to reapply every two to three hours."If you're swimming or sweating, you'll need to reapply even more often.Massick said mineral sunblock may be easier on sensitive skin, but the best kind of sunscreen is the one you'll actually use.“We want to make sure we're using the type that is both UVA and UVB protective, so it's broad-spectrum protection, as well as water resistant,” Massick said.Massick said another mistake is not using enough sunscreen, adding that you can never put on too much.“We tend to quantify it as two Ping-Pong balls worth of sunscreen and apply it all over. You want to make sure you apply to all areas that are exposed, whether it's your face, ears, hands, feet,” Massick said. And don't forget, sunscreens expire. Massick recommended replacing your bottle every year.

ABSOLUTELY. AND WE’VE GREAT WEATHER TO DO THAT TODAY. ELSE. YES. I MEAN, WE’VE REALLY HAD A GORGEOUS DAY OUT THROUGH AND THROUGH. TEMPERATURES HAVE MADE IT UP ABOUT 85 SO FAR TODAY. AND IT’S GOING TO STAY WARM A LOT OF THIS WEEK. IN FACT, IT’S PRETTY GOING TO BE A SURGE OF SUMMERTIME WEATHER. STICKING WITH US ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE UPCOMING WEEKEND. SO YOU CAN PLAN ON WARM AFTERNOONS. THEY’RE ALSO GOING TO GET A LITTLE BIT HUMID, ESPECIALLY THE FIRST HALF OF THE WEEK. THE FIRST HALF OF THE WEEK. ALSO WANT TO BRING US THE POTENTIAL FOR A COUPLE OF POP UP SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. NOT MUCH. STILL, THERE IS THAT POTENTIAL THEN TEMPERATURES STILL RUNNING ABOUT TEN OR SO DEGREES WARMER THAN FOR US THIS TIME OF YEAR. TYPICALLY, WE’RE TOPPING OUT AROUND 78 BY THE END OF THE WEEK, TEMPERATURES WILL BE MAKING A RUN FOR 88 OR EVEN WARMER. IT’S ALREADY 88 DEGREES IN OXFORD SO FAR TODAY. 85 IN CINCINNATI RIGHT NOW. THAT IS THE OFFICIAL HIGH FOR THE DAY, 82 IN BATAVIA, 82 DEGREES IN DRY RIDGE. TEMPERATURES IN FLORENCE ARE SITTING AROUND 84 AS WELL. AND THIS MEANS THAT TEMPERATURES COMPARE TO THIS TIME ARE RUNNING ABOUT 15 DEGREES WARMER. SO MUCH DIFFERENT COMPARED TO YESTERDAY. WE’VE GOT THAT SUNSHINE OUT THERE, WHICH WE REALLY DIDN’T HAVE TOO MUCH OF THAT YESTERDAY, DID WE? NOW, AS WE GO THROUGH THE REST OF TONIGHT, ARE GOING TO STAY IN THE SEVENTIES FOR A FEW MORE HOURS AND THEN EVENTUALLY WE DIP DOWN TO THE SIXTIES, MOST OF US FALLING DOWN TO ABOUT 60 OR SO BY TOMORROW MORNING. SO A MILD START TO THE DAY ON TUESDAY. IF YOU’RE HEADED BACK TO WORK TOMORROW, WEATHER IN THE MORNING, NOT SO MUCH OF AN ISSUE, BUT AS GET INTO THE AFTERNOON, IF YOU’RE NOT GOING OUT TO WORK HERE, MAYBE GOING OUT TO THE POOL, YOU MIGHT RUN INTO SOME SHOWERS, THUNDERSTORMS DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU LIVE. SO GOING THROUGH THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS AROUND HERE, WE WILL SEE A COUPLE OF CLOUDS OCCASIONALLY FEATURE YOU GUYS. SO WHAT’S TO KEEP BRINGING US A FEW SPOTTY SHOWERS HERE THIS EVENING AT POINT, I DO THINK THAT’S A VERY LOW CHANCE OF THAT HAPPENING. SO BY TOMORROW MORNING WE’RE GOING TO BE NICE AND DRY. A GORGEOUS START TO THE DAY ON TUESDAY, BUT THEN TOMORROW AFTERNOON, WE’VE GOT THAT POTENTIAL FOR A FEW SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS POPPING UP AROUND HERE. I DO THINK GENERALLY IF YOU ARE WEST OF I-75, YOU HAVE THE HIGHER CHANCE OF SEEING SOME RAINFALL, ESPECIALLY INTO SOUTHEASTERN INDIANA. SO IF YOU WERE THINKING ABOUT GOING OUT TO PURPLE LAKE TOMORROW, YOU’LL DEFINITELY WANT TO KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON THE WEATHER BECAUSE SOME OF THESE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS LOOK TO DEVELOP KIND OF CLOSE THE LAKE THERE. OTHERWISE, THROUGHOUT THE REST THE DAY TUESDAY, IF YOU DON’T GET A SHOWER, A THUNDERSTORM, IT’S GOING TO BE HOT AND HUMID FOR YOU FOR THE WHOLE DAY. TEMPERATURES AGAIN OUT AROUND 85, BUT COULD AT TIMES FEEL A LITTLE BIT WARMER THAN THAT. THEN ON WEDNESDAY, FUTURE CAST LITTLE SHY TO BRING US ANY OF THE SPOTTY SHOWERS. I STILL THINK THERE’S A CHANCE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON IN FOR SOME ISOLATED DEVELOPMENT AROUND HERE GENERALLY DURING THE AFTERNOON HUMIDITY YOU’LL NOTICE IT TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY. SO YOU MIGHT BE AT TIMES WISHING FOR SHOWER TO MOVE THROUGH YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD TO KIND OF COOL YOU OFF A LITTLE BIT. BUT BY FRIDAY, THE HUMIDITY IS GOING TO TAKE A LITTLE BIT OF A BREAK. BUT THE HEAT DOES NOT. TEMPERATURES ON FRIDAY CLIMBING TO ABOUT 88 FOR A HIGH 89 ON SATURDAY. THIS UPCOMING WEEKEND LOOKS TO STAY NICE AND DRY FOR US. SO LOOKING LIKE A GREAT FIRST WEEKEND OF JUNE AND COOL OFF A LITTLE BIT STARTING NEXT WEE

<p>For teachers and other educators, it has been a bumpy summer full of unknowns.</p>
<p>Used to delivering answers to students, they are now asking questions about what they can expect during the fall semester.</p>
<p>“It’s a lot of uncertainty,” said Jo Pustizzi, a high school teacher in Colorado Springs, Colorado.</p>
<p>The one thing Jo and her husband, Jim, who is also a public school teacher in Colorado Springs, can rely on is the source of income they have been generating from their Airbnb.</p>
<p>Seven years ago, the couple converted their cabin in the Rocky Mountains into a place to stay for out-of-towners looking to escape.</p>
<p>“Jo had to really convince me to do an Airbnb, because we had put so much work into the cabin that I didn’t want someone to abuse it,” Jim said.</p>
<p>Jo and Jim are far from the only ones as well. Airbnb says it has seen more teachers turn to the service as a way to supplement their income.</p>
<p>In 2019, Airbnb says teachers raked in $230 million through rentals. About $81 million of that came during the months of June, July and August, when they were not teaching.</p>
<p>It is a big jump from 2017, when teachers brought in $160 million, $54 million coming during the summer months.</p>
<p>“It’s kind of like our own little business, too, so it is fun,” said Jo. "It’s fun just reading reviews or talking to people on the phone.”</p>
<p>It gives the Pustizzis a way to live their lives a little more loosely as they near retirement age and worry about their pensions amid the pandemic.</p>
<p>It also gives them a chance to look back on reviews knowing they did what they do best: share information and experiences.</p>
<p>"People enjoy the same things that we enjoy and it’s cool,” said Jim.</p>
<p>“It feels good knowing other people are feeling good,” added Jo.</p>
<p>For a couple whose profession and passion is in flux, what more could you ask for?</p>

<p>The fall foliage season's yellows, oranges, and reds are slowly expanding across the United States. As seen through tree leaves, the change from summer to fall is changing at a different pace due to climate change.</p>
<p>The increasing global temperature creates wetter and warmer areas of the country, which directly impacts the trees and their photosynthesis process.</p>
<p>"September is the most important month for determining the timing and quality of the fall color," said Howard Neufeld, professor of biology at Appalachian State University.</p>
<p>Climate change is extending summer temperatures into September, which alters the fall foliage. A shifting summer season will change the fall season.</p>
<p>"In a future high-CO2 world that is warmer, we may see a longer summer season," said Neufeld.</p>
<p>Higher air temperatures cause the atmosphere to hold more water vapor, leading to more rain in areas.</p>
<p>Neufeld says warmer and wetter weather creates duller red-colored leaves. </p>
<p>The red leaves are what define the beauty of the fall foliage season. </p>
<p>The orange and yellow leaves will always exist because the green of the chlorophyll masks the pigments responsible for those colors during the summer.</p>
<p>Climate change will also change the makeup of the forests and the leaf canopy. The warmer weather will drive some trees to relocate to the north. </p>
<p>There was a similar movement of Florida trees following the retreat of the glaciers.</p>
<p>"They can move — not like in 'Lord of the Rings' where they can walk — but through seed dispersal. If it's too warm in the South, then they'll have to move north," said Neufeld.</p>
<p>As the leaves shift from green to their fall colors, they do so at different time intervals because of the warmer temperatures.</p>
<p>"The intensity of the color is not as great because you don't get all the colors coming up at one time," said Neufeld.</p>
<p>The fall foliage tourism industry is estimated to pump $25 billion to $30 billion into economies across the country each year.</p>
<p><i>Scott Withers at Newsy first reported this story.</i></p>

<p>July 2021 was the earth’s hottest month on record, according to data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The land and ocean surface temperatures were a combined 1.67 degrees above the average.</p>
<p>One city in the southwest region of the U.S. is looking at solutions to help keep the ground cooler.</p>
<p>“It looks basically like cured concrete,” said Ryan Stevens, a civil engineer with the City of Phoenix.<b> </b></p>
<p>Ryan Stevens and other engineers are trying to lower the temperature of the asphalt.<b> </b></p>
<p>“Really, it gives that illusion of putting on the product like sunscreen onto our roads, and that's really what it's doing is insulating our roads from the daytime solar energy," he said.</p>
<p>In nine areas across Phoenix, the city is piloting its "Cool Pavement Program." It’s a lighter coating on top of the roads already in place.</p>
<p>“It’s not paint. We hear people say, 'Well, you just painted your streets,' we didn't paint our streets. We actually used an asphalt-based product,” said Kini Knudson, director of Street Transportation for the City of Phoenix.</p>
<p>The program began last year and currently coats 36 miles of asphalt across the city.</p>
<p>“If it’s something that makes sense from an environmental climate perspective but also makes our pavement last longer, for me, it's a no-brainer,” he said.</p>
<p>“The idea is to keep the energy out of the pavement because at night the pavement is the last thing to cool down. About 30 to 40 percent of the urban area is paved surfaces,” Stevens said.</p>
<p>Paved surfaces contribute to similar problems in cities across the U.S. Larger populations and more buildings created a higher urban heat island index -- it’s a concept called the urban heat island effect.</p>
<p>“The urban heat island is a situation that has been studied for about 200 years. It happens because you have buildings that can store heat differently than the natural surface. So a building will hold onto heat and hold it on through the night, and what that does is it keeps the nighttime temperatures warmer so we have this situation where we’re not cooling off at night,” Erinanne Saffell, Arizona’s state climatologist, said.</p>
<p>“That energy, the sunlight comes down and is stored in the surfaces,” she explained. “The more reflective a surface, the less energy it’s going to store and so it's not going to be as hot.”</p>
<p>Saffell compares it to how a person might feel wearing a dark t-shirt in the hot sun.</p>
<p>“If you're wearing a light-colored shirt that reflects the heat, that's not going to get you as hot,” she said.</p>
<p>“We know that heat is a challenge for our community, we want our community to be comfortable,” Kate Gallego, the Mayor of Phoenix, said. “We’ve noticed it’s not getting as cool as night, we’re retaining a lot of heat.”</p>
<p>Results from the first year of the program show the cool pavement had an average surface temperature of 10.5 to 12 degrees Fahrenheit lower than regular asphalt at noon and during the afternoon hours. At all times of the day, the cool asphalt was cooler than traditional asphalt.</p>
<p>“That’s enough temperature distance or change that you can feel it if you're walking in a community,” Gallego said.</p>
<p>However, Stevens said it’s still being looked at how this impacts the air around the asphalt. </p>
<p>“The degree of which that air mixing, does it feel hotter or not, is something we still need to look at,” he said.</p>
<p>The city plans on trying different colors and shades as well.</p>
<p>Keeping buildings and asphalt lighter is something Steve Hamburg says has been used in design decisions for quite a while.</p>
<p>“If you go to the Mediterranean, you would never see dark roofs. You're always going to see light roofs, because they want to reflect the heat off the roofs so it doesn't warm the structure…people have been known to do that for thousands of years,” Steven Hamburg, chief scientist at the Environmental Defense Fund, said.</p>
<p>The project in Phoenix will continue to see what works best to mitigate the urban heat island effect and keep our planet cooler.</p>
<p>“It’s going to take a few more years to be able to fully evaluate the impact and the benefits of it,” Knudson said.</p>

SOAK CITY. ASHLEY: I DON’T THINK I AM READY R FO TOP ABOUT SUMMER COMING TO AN END. STEV:EN I NEED TEMPERATURESO T BE AS HOT AS THEY CAN BE FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE. ASHLEY: TWO IN DENIAL ANCHORS HERE. ALLIN:SOHE T FACT THAT CONEY IS CLOSING FOR THE SEASON, IT IS TIME TO TALK ABOUT THE CHRISTMAS NIGHTS OF LIGHTS. STEVEN:Y M WIFE WAS TALKING ABOUT THAT OVER THE WEEKEND. ASHL:EY SKIPPING FALL AND THANKSGIVING. ALLISON: TEMPERATURES RIGHT NOW ARE SITTING AT 69. WE ARE HAVING SOME NICE FALL WEATHER THIS WEEK IN PAR BUT OTHER TIMES THERE IS WARM WEATHER. BY THE END OF E WEEKEND, WE COULD BE LOOKING AT TEMPERATURES NEARING 90 DEGREES. 69 CINCINNATI, 73 MASON, HAMILTON8. 6 ALSO 68 IN HARRISON. BY THE TIME YOU WAKE UP IN THE MORNING, WE FALL INTO ETH LOW 60’S. IT MIGHT BE FOGGY FIRST THING IN THE MORNING .THROUGHOUT THE REST OF THE MORNING, TEMPERATURES SIT AROUND 63 BY 7:00, FEELING COMFORTABLE EARLY ON. BY 9:00, WARMING UP TO 69 AND TEMPERURATES CONTINUE TO WARM INTO THE 80’S. RADAR IS PRETTY QUIET RIGHT NOW, REALLY DON’T EVEN NEED TO SHOW YOU. FUTURECAST STILL TRIES TO BRING IN A FEW SHOWERS INTO MESO NORTHERN ZONES. I THINK WE ARE GOING TO STAY DRY ALL NIGHT LONG. SOME PATCHY FOG WILL BE AROUND FOR SOME, OTHERS DEANGLI WHIT CLEAR SKY. A PRETTY QUIET SRTTA TO TUESDAY WITH TEMPERATURES AROUND 63. 84 FOR THE HIGH INHE T AFTERNOON, AN INCREEAS IN CLOUD COVER FOR THE AFTERNOON BECAUSE WE HAVE A COLD FRONT ON THE W THAT’S GOING TO BRING RAIN BY EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING. IT LOOKS LIKE IT IS GOING TO ARRIVE BETWEEN MIDNIGHT UNTIL THE MEHETI SUN STARTS TO COME UP WEDNESDAY MORNING. THIS IS A LITTLEOO EARLY, AROUND 12:30 OR SO. I TNKHI IT IS GOING TO HOLD OFF UNTIL CLOSER TO 3:00 IN THE MORNING BEFORE IT ROLLS THROUGH CINCINNA.TI IT WILL BRING THE POTENTIAL FOR RAIN AND THUNDER. IT MIGHT WAKE YOU UP EARLY ON WEDNESDAY MORNING. EPKE THIS IN MIND FOR THE WEDNESDAY MORNING COMMUTE. THAT LOOKS LIKITE IS GOING TO BEHE T ONE MOST IMPACTED BY THE FRONT. BY WEDNESDAY EVENING, WE CLEAR OUT BRIEFLY. WE COULD SEE APOTTY S SHOWERS THURSDAY, TBU OVERALL IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING PLANNED FORHE T NEXT COUPLE OF AFTERNOONS, MOST OF THEM ARE PRETTY GOOD. IF YOU HAVE PRACTICES COMING UP IN THE AFTERNOON OR YOUR KSID HAVE PRACTICES OR GAMES TO GET TO, EVERYTHING LOOKS GOOD WEATHER-WISE AS LONG AS THE RAIN CONTINUES TO ARRIVE OVERNIGHT WHILE WE ARE SLEEPING INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING. TEMPERATURE WISE, A BIT OF A ROLLER COAST.ER ON FRIDAY, WE ARE IN THE UPPER 70’S BECAUSE OF THE CDOL FRONT THAT BRINGS A BRIEF TASTEF O FALL. AFTERNOONS 70’S, BUT AFTERNOON MIDDLE 50’S. HUMIDITY IS PRETTY MUCH NONEXISTENT UNTIL THWEE EKEND. WE SEE ANOTHER SURGE OF RM AIRWA BRINGING HIGH TEMPERATURES CLOSE TO 90 DEGREES ON SUNDAY AND OVERNIGHT LOWS CLOSE TO 70 NDSUAY MORNING AND AGAIN ON MONDAY. TONIGHT 63, PRETTY CALM AND QUIET. ENWH WE GET TO WEDNESDAY, 80 DEGREES IS WHAT WE ARE LOOKING AT. BY THURSDAY AND FRIDAY, TWO DAYS OF TEMPERATURES TOPPING OUT AROUND 77. STILL LOOKING KE 81LI ON SATURDAY AND THEN A CLIMB TO THE UPPER 80’S MOVING IN ON SUNDAY AND MONDAY. IF YOU ARE NOT READY TO LET GO

DOUBT ABOUT THAT. LET’S TALK WEATHER, IT’S IMPORTANINT THE MORNING WHEN YOU GET UP AND ARE GETTING THE KIDS OFF TO SCHOOL AND YOU ARE DRIVING IN THIS STUFF. THERE CODUL BE MADE TO DEAL WITH. ALLISON: SOME SCATTERED SHOWERS, MAYBE SOME RUMBLES OF THUNDER ROLLING THROUGH. YOUAN C SEE THE INITIAL ROUND OF THIS TRYING TO MOVE INTO THE AREA. IT’S GOING TO TAKE SOME TEIM FOR THISO T MOVE INTO GREATER CINCINNATI EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE GOT IT IN OUR NORTHWESTERN CORNER MOVING INTO THE CONNERSVILLE AREA. FOR THE REST OF THE NIGHT WE WILL SEE THIS PUSH TO THE SOUTH AND EAST OF THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS AND BY 4:00 OR 5:00 IN THE MORNING THE RAIN IS GOING TO BE SCATTERED ACROSS THE AREA. IT WILL CONTINUE FOR A COUPLE MORE HOURS WELL INTO THE MORNING SO YOUR COMMUTE COULD BE WET. KEEP THAT IN MIND. YOU MAY WANT TO PLAN TO WAKE UP EARLY TOMORROW MORNING TO CHECK YOUR ROUTES AND MAKE SURE EVERYTHINGS I GOING SMOOTHLY ON THE ROADWAYS. THAT COLD FRONT IS GOING TO BRING RAINFALL TONIGHT AND THROUGH TOMORROW. SOUTH OF 71 COULD BE DEANGLI WITH RAINFALL AS LATE AS NOON TOMORROW. ON FUTURECAST, THE RAIN IS BREAKING APART AS IT MOVES IN INITIALLY AND THEN CLOSER TO 4:00 IN THE MORNING IT STARTS TO BECOME SCATTERED AND SPOTTY IN A COUPLE OF SPOTS AS WELL. THERE IS POTENTIAL F RORUMBLES OF THUNDER HERE AND THERE, FOR THE MOST PART I EXPECT THIS TO BE SHOWERS. WE COULD HAVE SOME THUNDER MOVING THROUGH. THIS IS WHAT I’M TALKGINUT ABO WITH SOME OF THE AREAS TO THE SOUTHETAS OF 71, MOUNT OB,RA GEORGETOWN, PEEBLES, MAYSVILLE. CLOSER TO 11 OR -- 11:00 OR NOON TOMORROW, RIGHT ARNDOU WRENCHED -- LUNCHTI,ME IT WILL TAKE THE SHOWERS SOMETIME TO EXIT. IN THE MROET WE DRY OUT CLOSER TO 9:00 OR 10:00 IN THE MORNING AN WDE WILL START TO SEE SOME SUNSHINE CLOSER TO LUNCHTIME. FALYIR DECENT SUNSHINE THROUGH THE REST OF THE DAY TOMORROW WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES CLIMBING TO ABOUT 80 DEGREES. AFTERNOON PLANS, PRACTICES, GAMES ARE GOING TOE B OK IT’S JUST THE MORNING COMMUTE THAT WILL BE MOST IMPACTED BY THIS RAIN. WE ARE PICKING UP ABOUT A QUARTER OF AN INCH OF RAINFALL, TNO PARTICULARLY HEAVY BUT WE COULD IN SOME OF THESE STOSRM HAVE SOME HEAVIER POCKETS DEVELOP THROUGHTOU THE MORNING. AROUND 65 INHE T MORNING,RNING. CLIMBING TO 68 BY 9:00, 80 FOR THE HIGH TEMPERATURE AND SUNSHINE IN THE AFTERNOON AROUND 74 DEGREES. 77 IS THE HIGH THURAYSD AND FRIDAY SO THIS WILL BRING IN COOLER AIR, LESS HUMID AIR WAS GOING TO FEEL NICE AND PLEASANT AS WE WRAP UP THE WORK WEEK. IF YOU HAVE PLANS FOR HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL GAMES OR ARE ING TOGO THE BILLY JOEL CONCERT, THE FORECAST LOOKS GRTEA ON FRIDAY. WARMS UP A TAD ON SATURDAY SO KEEP THAT IN MIND IF YOU’RE GOING TO AN OUTDOOR EVENT AND BY THE BENGALS GAME THAT IS WHEN A LOOKS LIKE IT’S GOING TO BE HOTTEST. TEMPERATURES TOPPING OUT AROUND 87 SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND THAT IS GOING TO BE WILD THE GAME IS GOING ON, TEMPERATURES ONLY INCREASING. WE ARE GOINGO T BE DRY FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS ONCE WE GET PAST THIS COLD FRONT MOVING THROUGH HERE AGAIN

WHO THOUGHT WHO FIRST RESPONDERS. WHILEN THE LIVES LOST AT 9/11 SO HARD TO BELIEVE IT’S BEEN 20 YEARS SINCEHE TN, THERE’LL BE EVENTS AND MEMORIALS ALL WEEK LONG LEADING UP TO SATDAURY. YEAH, BUT HOW ABOUT THIS WEATHER THAT WE’VE HAD ON THIS LABOR DAY? YEAH ELEPHANT. HOW’S IT LOOKING GOING FORWARD NICE FOR THE REST OF THIS EVENING TOMORROW ALSO LOOKS PRETTY GOOD. WE HAVE A BUMP IN THE ROAD IN TERMS OF RAIN CHANCES. SO THAT’S REALLY GONNA COME INTO PLAYIT WH US ON WEDNESDAY MOINRNG SOME SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS IN THE FORECAST AND THEN A SLIGHT CHANCE OF RAIN ON THURSDAY AS WELL. MOSTLY THUDARSY AFTERNOON AFTER THAT WE START TO DRIVE BACK OUT NEXT WEEKEND. SO FAR LOOKING DRY FOR THE ENTIRE WEEKEND, TOO. SO RAIN CHANCES AGAIN START TO GO UP BY THE MIDDLE OF THE WEEK. OTHERWISE THE REST OF THIS EVENING LOOKS AND FEELS QUITE NI 8CE2 IN CINCINNATI RIGHT NOW WEST WIND PULLING IN AT ABOUT EIGHT MILES PER HOUR. I EXPECT F TORHE REST OF THE EVENING. WE’ SLLEE WEST WIN ANYWHERE FROM FIVE POSSIBLY UP TO 10 MILES PER HOUR AND THEN TONIGHT CALMING DOWN A BIT THAT COULD LEAD TO SOME PATCHY FOG DE THING BY TOMORROW MORNING, OTHERWISE LOOKING REALLY NICEER HE OVERNIGHT TONIGHT MOSTLY CLEAR AS WELL TEMPERATURES FOR THE REST OF THIS EVENING LOOKING GREAT. VERY GOOD IF YOU’RE PLANNG INON COOKING OUT THIS EVENING DOWN TO ABOUT 75 BY 8 O CLOCK AND THEN SLOWLY STARTING TO FALL INTO THE 60S OVERNIGHT. SO WE ARE GOING TO BE MOSTLY CLEAR HERE TONIGHT AGAIN MOSTLY CLEAR CALM WIND A LOT OF TIMES. THAT’S WHEN WE START TO SEE SOME FOG DEVELOPING. SO KEEP THAT IN MIND EARLY IN THE MORNING TOMORROW. THERE’S A LITTLE BIT OF RAIN FARTHER TO OUR NORTH CLOSER TO ICE 70 I EXPECT TO EAT THOSE SHOWERS TO STAY WELL NORTH OF GREATER CINCINNATI, BUT WE MIGHT SEE A SPRINKLER TWO MOVINGNT IO NORTHERN BUTLER COUNTY OR NORTHERN FAYETTE COUNTY IN INDIANA. OTHERWISE, WE ARE GOING TO STAY RELATIVELY DRY. THANKS TO HIGH PRESSURE AGAIN KEEPING OUR SKY CLEAR AND SUNNY FOR THE MAJORITY OF THE DAY TODAY. YOU CAN SEE SOME O TFHE SHOWERS HERE ON FUTURECAST FOR THEOS MT PART THOUGH. THEY ARE GOING TO BEER VY VERY ISOLATED AND VERY SPOTTY AND THEN OVERNIGHT. WE’LL STAY MOSTLY CLEAR. WATCH OUTOR F THAT PATCHY FOG EARLY IN THE MORNING TOMORROW AND TONIGHT START TO FALL DOWN INTO THE LOW 60S. SO THAT’S WHERE WE KICK THINGS OFF TOMORROW MORNING TEMPERATURE WISE RIGHT AROUND 63 AND THEN WE’LLAR WM UP TO ABOUT 84 FOR THAT HIGH TOMORROW AFTERNOON STAYING NICE AND SUNNY THROUGHO TUTHE REST OF THE DAY TUESDAY. SO IF YOU’ GVEOT PRACTICES GOING ON TOMORROW NIGHT IF YOU HAVE ANY PLANS FOR TUESDAY SO FAR EVERYTHING LOOKS GOOD WEATHER-WISE. WE’LL START TO SEE SOME CLOUDS INCREASINGAT LER IN THE DAY TUESDAY INTO TUESDAY NIGHT WEDNESDAY MORNING THAT AHEAD OF A COLD FRONT TH IATS GOING TO BRING USAI RN HERE BY WEDNESDAY. SO THAT’S WHY WE HAVE THAT CHANCE OF RAIN ON WEDNESDAY SOME SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS EARLY IN THE MORNING. OTHERWISE, WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON WILL START TO CLEAR BACK OUT AND THEN BY THURSDAY SOME SPOTTY RAIN WILL BE AROUND MAINLY DURING THE AFTNOERON THURSDAY. OTHERWISE THE FORECAST LOOKS GREAT AND DRY. SO IF YOU HAVE PLANS TOMORROW TEERMPATURES CLIMBING UP TO ABOUT 79 BY LUNCHTIME UP TO 84 FOR THAT HIGH AND STAYING SUNNY FOR THE MAJORITY OF THE DAY, BUT THOSE CLOUDS BEGIN INCREASING LATER TOMORROW NIGHT NEXT WEEKEND THOUGH. I DO WANT TO GIVE YOU A HEADS UP. WELL, IT LOOKS SUNNY. IT VERY WARM TEMPERATURES ARE GOING TO GO FROM ABO 7UT7 ON FRIDAY UP TO 87 DEGRE FESOR A HIGH ON SUNDAY. SO IT’S GOING TO FEEL LIK EEVERY BIT OF SUMMER NEXT WKEEEND AND THEN SO FAR NEXT WEEK ALSO LOOKING LIKE ’T'S GOING TO BE RELATIVELY WARM AND VERY HOT TEMPERATURES CLOSE TO 90 ON MONDAY AS WELL. SO YO’'LL BE ABLE TO GET SOME FULL TIME IN SEPTCOMING WEEKEND FOR SURE IF YOU DI’

<p>It's that time of year again. This is when parents start looking for summer camps for their kids. </p>
<p>We asked the experts what summer camp will look like this year as we all try to navigate a post-pandemic world.</p>
<p>Summer Camp before COVID seems like a whole different world. </p>
<p>The YMCA says, if your last camp was in 2019, be prepared. </p>
<p>Everything will be further from the moment you sign your child up to the moment you drop them off. </p>
<p>“There will be safety protocols ahead of coming to camp," said YMCA CEO Paul McEntire. "They are often different requirements. Sometimes it is a test before you show up within 48-72 hours. Some do that that varies a good bit."</p>
<p>For McEntire, the camp is his job. </p>
<p>“We operate just over 320 overnight resident camps across the country and 10-thousand-day camps,” McEntire said. </p>
<p>This year, he says, they're moving towards more of an educational focus.</p>
<p>“That is one thing that will be distinctly different at many of our camps in 2021- dealing with the loss of learning that everyone’s going to have to be working on probably for a couple of years to help children catch up,” McEntire said. </p>
<p>Of course, the fun will be there, but it might look a little bit different, and COVID safety protocols might vary by region. In general, though, you can expect masks and minimal group mixing.</p>
<p>“As much as possible, the programs and activities and the things the kids love those are all the same," said McEntire. "A handful of things aren’t safe enough to do in COVID.” </p>
<p>As for safety and guidelines, they rely on the CDC. </p>
<p>Dr. Tanya Altmann, a Los Angeles Area Pediatrician and a spokesperson for the American Academy of Pediatrics, said that if there ever was a year that kids need camp, it's this year. </p>
<p>“This year, summer camp is going to be more important than ever for our kid's social and emotional well-being," Dr. Altmann said. "I’m online every day looking for camp options for my boys because I don’t want them sitting at home on zoom anymore. I want them outdoors, doing things and learning and having fun.” </p>
<p>She also says we've learned a lot. We know how to prevent transmission. We know the outdoors is safer. We know that we need to distance and wear a mask and do the proper sanitizing.</p>
<p>"Code Ninjas," a franchise that teaches kids to code, is primarily indoors. </p>
<p>In San Diego, the owners tell us that their summer classes are already filling up. There are only seven kids per session. A 6-foot distance, temperature checks, and masks will be enforced. For those who are still not comfortable, a virtual option is available. </p>
<p>“There’s going to be a lot of changes, but I think there are so many ways to make camp safe and fun and an amazing experience that these kids need this summer,” said Dr. Altmann.</p>
<p>At the YMCA, enrollment is already ahead of 2019 registration numbers, proving that parents need a break and want their kids to have a good, old-fashion summer. </p>
<p>"We know camp is such an important component for children for their social, emotional health, mental well-being, relationships and for just being a kid that’s always been what camp is about, right?' McEntire said.</p>

IT LOOKED LIKE EVERYTHING WAS INDOORS AREA -- INDOORS. &gt;&gt; IF YOU’RE RUNNING OR BIKING ORNY A OF THOSE THINGS OUTSIDE, YOU WILL HAVE TO BE CAREFUL, ESPECIALLY THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. &gt;&gt; I HAVE SEEN A LOT OF PEOPLE DOING IT. ONCE IT GETS HOT IN THE AFTERNOON, YOU NEED TO TAKE BREAKS AND DRINK A LOTF O WATER, BE SURE TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF. TEMPERATURES WILL BE SO WARM OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. NEAR 90. 79 IN CINCINNATI. JUST COOLING OFF INTO THE MIDDLE 70’S. 75 IN WILMINGTON. 77 IN BROOKSVILLE. OVER IN BATESVILLE, INDIANA, TEMPERATURES ARE SITTING AT 79. STILL RELATILYVE MILD AND THEN WE STAY IN THE 70’S FOR THE REST OF TONIGHT. BY THE TIME YOU WAKE UP AND GO OUT THE DOOR IN THE MORNING, I-7273 FROM 5:00-7:00 IN THE MORNING. WE ARE STAYING DRY THROUGHOUT THE MORNING. MOSTLY CLEAR. TEMPERATURES ARE ALREADY WARMING UP TO 79 BY 9:00 IN THE MORNING. TONIGHT, WE STAY MOSTLY CLEAR. ONCE WE GET A LUNCHTIME, THAT IS WHERE EVERYTHING STARTS TO CHANGE A LITTLE BIT. THESE ARE GOING TO DEVELOP RANDOMLY THROUGHOUT THE AREA. EVERYONE STANDS AN EQUAL CHANCE OF RAIN TOMORROW. IF YOU HAPPEN TO SEE ONE OF THESE SHOWERS, NOTICE THEY FALL APART PRETTY QUICKLY AS THAT SUN STARTS TO GO DOWN. NOT EVERYONE IS GOING TO SEE THAT RAIN. THE POTENTIAL FOR THUNDER AND LIGHTNING AND ALSO GUSTY WIND. WE WILL DRIVE BACK OUT AND START TO DO THIS ALL OVER AINAG ON TUESDAY. WAKING UP MILD AND DRY AND THEN BY TUEAYSD AFTERNOON, LORRAINE CHANCES ARE BACK IN THE FORECAST. PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE HEAT INDEX. THAT IS HOW IT WILL FEEL OUTSIDE WHEN YOU’ OREUT THERE. 89 TOMORROW AFTERNOON, FEELING LIKE 96 DEGREES. GHHI TEMPERATURES RIGHT AROUND 90. THE HUMIDITY WILL BE ABOUT FIVE OR 10 DEGESRE LONGER THAN THAT. EVEN HOTTER WHEN YOU’RE IN THE DIRECT SUNLIGHT. THE MORNINGS ARE GOING TO BE THE TIMES TO TRY TO TGE OUTSIDE WHEN YOU DON’T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THAT RAINFALL. WHEN WE GET TO THE AFTERNOON, THAT IS WHERE THE SPOTTY SHOWERS BEGIN TO DEVELOP. A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT WHEN WE GET TO THE MIDDLE AND END OF THE WORKWEEK. THE RAIN CHANCES START TO MOVE UP A LITTLE BIT MORE. THIS BRINGS US A LIE CHANCE OF RAIN. THAT IS GOING TO BE AN ALL-DAY POSSIBILITY TO SEE THAT RAINFALL ON THURSDAY. GOING INTO THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND. WE HAVE INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE AND THEN ANY FIREWORKS SHOWS GOING ON AROUND TOWN. AFTER THAT FRONT ON THURSDAY, 78 FOR THE HIGH. SATURDAY, 76. 78 DEGREES FOR THAT HIGH TEMPERATURE. LOOKING GOOD, FEELING GOOD.

Many people may be looking forward to the colorful sights and sounds of fireworks this Fourth of July after the COVID-19 pandemic forced some plans to change last year. However, retailers are warning customers about a fireworks shortage that may impact those July 4 celebrations. Suppliers and retailers are worried about fireworks shortages across the country caused by pandemic-related delays. "I got the rolling thunder assortment, I got a coupon in the mail, it's for my grandkids," said Bill Collins, a customer in Georgia. Collins says he learned the hard way that you need to get a jumpstart on all fireworks purchases or your options may be dim."That's why I'm buying early, last year they ran out," said Collins.A shortage of shipping containers in China is slowing down fireworks deliveries globally. There are also delays in the U.S. getting products both unloaded and put on trucks. These pandemic-related problems are creating issues with the supply-chain and retailers. But with shelves currently packed with pyrotechnics, it may be hard to believe there's a major nationwide shortage."They don't have enough shipping containers to ship in," Oklahoma City-based Fireworks Warehouse general manager Tyler Herzog said.Herzog said that 99% of fireworks come from China, and there are delays in shipping the products here."There's a backup out in Long Beach, and the container ships can't get in here quick enough," Herzog said.He recommends shopping early to beat the rush and save money."Our shipping costs have gone up 300% to 400%," Herzog said. "The actual fireworks themselves are going up 30% to 50%, so you're going to see higher prices because of that."Jason Lewis, a retired tattoo artist in Oklahoma, said he normally puts on shows up to an hour long in an annual backyard barbecue gathering of about 50 family and friends July 4. This year, he drove through three states and, spending a little less than last year, was only able to amass about half as much.“At one stand in Texas, he had one 500-gram repeater I saw last year for $40. He wanted $115,” Lewis said. “I looked at him and said, ‘I’m done, I’ll go somewhere else.’ But little did I know it was the same everywhere.”Normally, he puts together the whole show. This year, he said he will go "potluck," asking guests to bring any fireworks they see along the way — telling friends: "Don’t be shocked by surprises. Get what you can."

Summer officially starts on June 20, but many people say their summer is usually in full swing long before that date. That's according to a new study conducted by one poll on behalf of waterloo sparkling water, which found that half of respondents believe the season kicks off as soon as the temperature hits 75 degrees. Others believe the start of summer is marked by specific activities like buying ice cream from an ice cream truck hosting or attending a barbecue and floating on a river as people make summer 2021 bigger and better because they missed out last year, 55% say they're going to pack in twice the number of activities as they would in a typical summer part of making up for lost time requires people to enjoy the season for as long as they can. The waterloo sparkling water survey found that 55% of people plan to make summer 21 last as long as they possibly can in order to do this. Many plan on starting their summer activities a little earlier this year and plan on continuing them later in the year.

Bring on the cookouts, bust out the outdoor games, and start filling up those pools — summer is just about here! Though temps have been steadily rising across the country for weeks now, you may be surprised to know that the season of fresh watermelon, breezy beach reads and long weekend getaways to quaint small towns doesn’t officially kick off until just about halfway through the year. So when is the first day of summer, exactly? Read on for everything to know about kicking off the season right, including the celestial matters that dictate the transition from spring. When is the first day of summer? In the northern hemisphere this year, the first day of summer is Sunday, June 20, 2021. What determines the first day of summer? The first day of summer is determined by the tilt of the earth's axis as it rotates around the sun. The day that the North Pole is pointed closest to the sun, the northern hemisphere receives the most light for the longest amount of time. This day is known as the June or summer solstice, with a solstice being the twice-yearly astronomical occurrence when the sun is the greatest distance from Earth’s equator. (If you’re in the northern hemisphere, that means the sun will sit at its highest point in the sky during the summer solstice; during the winter solstice, it will sit at its lowest.) As the 24-hour period with the longest "day" and shortest "night" in the 365-day calendar year, the day of the summer solstice marks the first day of the summer season. If you want to get really technical, the exact time of the summer solstice this year is 11:32 p.m. ET.Is it the same day every year? Not exactly, and that is due to how long it technically takes the earth to complete one rotation around the sun. The Gregorian calendar, which is the international standard used for societal and scientific purposes, marks this passage of time — one year — as 365 days. But a solar year is actually closer to 365 days and six hours. This discrepancy gives us Leap Day every four years, and it also bumps the summer solstice a day or two depending on the year. The first day of summer will always fall on or between June 20 and June 22. When does summer end? In the northern hemisphere, the September or autumn equinox marks the end of summer and the beginning of fall. An astrological equinox, which occurs twice yearly, is the date when the sun passes over the equator, and from the northern hemisphere to the southern hemisphere. (On this date, day and night will be of equal length.) After the autumn equinox, the North Pole begins to tilt away from the sun, which begins a season of longer nights and shorter days. This year, the autumn equinox is Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021. That means you’ve got 94 days to make the most of summer this year.

HE PR,AYING FOR COLLE.EG BUT WE HAD NICE WEATHER BUT WE ARE TALKING CHANGES. SHEREE: WAS CHICKEN WITH KEVIN ROBINSON, FOCEDUS ON THE WIND, RIGHT? KEVIN: THE WIND DAMAGE IS GOING TOE THE THING, WE MAY BE IN BETWEEN MULTIPLE CPOM BOXES OF STORMS WHICH BUSY EARLY IN THE EVENING AND THEN IT GETS QUIET AND ANOTHER UPTICK AS WE GET READY TO GO TO BED TOMORROW NIGHT. AN ACTIVE WEATHER DAY, OUR FIRST REAL THREAT FOR WHAT I WOUL CONSIDER ANY SIGNIFICANT SEVERE WEATHER LATE INTO THE SPRING SEASON WITH SUMMER STARTING ON SUNDAY OFFICIALLY. 71 DEGREES OUTSIDE TONIGHT, DEW POINT IN THE MID-50’S, WE WILL TALK MORE ABOUT THAT IN A MOMENT AS OUR WINS HAVE COME AROUND TO THE SOUTH,T I HAS BEEN A NICE NIGHT, STILL COMFORTABLE WITH LOW HUMIDITY, TEMPERATURES IN THE 60’S AS YOU GET AWAY FROM THE CITY. 70 CLOSER TO THE OHIO RIVER, IT WILL BE A MILDER NIGHT TONIT.GH LET ME TALK ABOUT WHAT IS HAPPENING, HIGH PRESSURE IS HEADING EAST, WINS OUT OF THE SOUTH, MUGGY AIR MOVING ACROSS THE MIDWEST TONIGHT AND THERE IS A CLUE FRONT, IF YOU LOOK UNDER ETH BAND AND THE STORMS OUT OF WISCONSIN, WE WILL MSIS MOST OF THIS ACTION BUT WHAT IS LEFT OF IT COULD BRI ANG BRIEF PASSING SHOWER AT MIDDAY TOMORROW. THAT IS NOT AT A SEVERE THREAT, THOUGH. A LOOK AT THE DEW POINTS TONIGHT, COMFORTABLY IN THE 50’S BUT LOOK AT THE SURGE OF MUGGY AIR CREEPING ITSAY W UP THE OHIO RIVER TONIGHT, YOU WILL FEEL CHANGED CHANGE BY THE TIMEOU Y WAKE UP TOMORROW MORNING AND IT IS THAT MUGGY AIR THAT WILL HPEL FUEL THE THREAT FOR SOME SEVERE WEATHER ACROSS PTSAR OF INDIANA AND OHIO, ESPECIALLY CENTRAL PARTS OF OUR STATE. LETS U BREAK IT DOWN, A SLIGHT REST FOR HALF OF THE TRI-STATE FROM THE 275 LOOP SOUTH WITH AN ENHANCED RISK IN BROWN FOR ISLA NORTRNHE COMMUNITIES, THE BULLSEYE FOR SEVERE WEATHER IS ALONG I 70, INDIANAPOLIS AND DAYTONO T COLUMS,BU IT MAKES GOOD ACROSS OUR NORTHERN COMMUNITIES A IND THROUGH A REDLINE HERE TO SHOW YOU WHERE I THINK MORE SPECIFICALLY THE GREATEST THREAT WILL BE A, I THINK IT IS NORTH OF ETH LINE FROM BROOKVILLE MIHALT,ON MASON, BLANCHESR,TE HILLSBOROUGH, BASICALLY WHERE YOU SEE A TLOF O THE GREATEST POTENTIAL FOR SEVERE WEATHER AND OF THE GREATEST THREAT IS EARLY EVENING TOMORROW WITH WINDS AS THE GREATEST CONCERN. HAIL, MESO LIGHTNING, HEAVY RAIN IS A DEVELOPING CONCERN OVER NIGHT INTO SATURDAY MORNING. YOU WILL SEE WHY IN A MOMENT. AND OF THE TORNADO THREAT WHILE NOT ZERO IS ON THE LOWER END OF CONCERNS RIGHT NOW. MOST OF YOUR DAY TOMORROW IS HOT AND DRY AS I FOR NORTH OF THE RIVER, IT IS BETWEEN 60:0 AND 9:00 TONIGHT WHEN THE GREATEST THREAT FOR SEVERE WEATHER IS MAINLY NORTH OF THE RIVER. WHILE THE THREATON CTINUES TO THE OVERNIGHT, IT IS LOWER AND MORE OF A HEAVY RAIN AND FLOOD THREAT FOR A GOOD PART OF THE AREA. TOMORROW MORNING YOU WAKE UPO T MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES, HERE COMES ETH BRIEF PASSING SHOWER THAT COULD SCOOT THROUGH THE DAY, NOT A BIG DEAL BUT KEEP IIN HERE, -- EYE UP HE, NOTICE THIS ACROSS OUR NORTHERN COMMUNITIES, WE KEEP THE THREAT AROUND 7:00 AND BE HAVE A LOLL OUAR MIDNIGHT, THEY STORMS WILL HAVE SOME SEVERE WIND BUT NOAST INTENSE AS THE EARLY EVENING, THE EARLY PART OF YOUR SATURDAY IT LOOKS WET AND THAT IS WHYE WHAVE A FLOOD CONCERN IN THERE BEFORE IT STARTS TO DRY OUT SATURDAY AERFTNOON. THE REST OF TONIGHT’S QUIET AS WE HEAT UP IN A HURRY TOMORROW, IT IS GOING TO GET HOT VYER QUICKLY. 65 FOR AOW TONIGHT, MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES AND THEN TOMORROW 91 FOR AN AFTERNOON HIGH, IT IS A LOOK AT YOUR DAY PLANNER, THE GREATEST THREAT FOR THE SEVERE WEATRHE AFTER ABOUT 5:00 OR 6:00 THROUGH THE EARLY EVENG.IN THERE COULD BE A LOW IN THE WEATHER IN THE EVENING WHICHAY M ALLOW FOR A GOOD CHUNK OF YOUR FRIDAY EVENING TO BE QUIET, ASIDE FROM THE SEVERE WEATHER TO THE NORTH. HE IS YOUR SEVEN-DAY FORECAST, ON WCEE DRYING OUT THE REST OF THE WEEKEND LOOKS DRIER, STEAMY ON

<p>
February 2020, Ellie career was on top of the track world. The Millrose mile when I broke the American record was a huge stepping stone in my career, a turning point in my career. And then after that the whole world just kind of stopped right before the Tokyo Olympics were postponed, prayer seemed to be on the path. All olympic hopefuls aspire to to peak heading into the trials. However, one record was no peak. Honestly, I feel like it's almost better, like I feel like a much stronger athlete now, I've got another whole year of training and mileage under my belt in the extra time per year and the two mile indoor american record to her resume as well as the world's best 1500 m time this season. However, the achilles here in the United States are not what she's locked in on meddling in the olympics would be the ultimate goal. I really think that I can do it if it's the right day and you know, the right race growing up on a dairy farm, A young carrier didn't always talk about olympic medals. I feel like as a young kid, I didn't ever think that I would be a runner or especially at this level. So, um you know, it's kind of funny to, to think back to that, and honestly I'm still getting used to this. Ellie the confidence, you know, has become, you know, over a long period of time per year, credits her newfound confidence to physical and mental toughness, as well as staying in her own lane. I've had a different path to get where I am as compared to all the people that I'm competing against and so, you know, me not comparing myself to them has been a huge part of my success. She's confident, yet grounded with hopes to truly experience her olympic moment. I think it would be the ultimate goal to represent my country and um, you know, I hope I can just really enjoy those moments if I make it there. Um, you know, just really, really be there on the road of the Tokyo olympics on Marshall Krimsky.

<p>
In February 2020, Elle Purrier was on top of the track world. “The Millrose Mile, when I broke the American Record was a huge stepping stone. A turning point in my career. And then after that the whole world just kind of stopped,” Purrier said. When the Tokyo Olympics were postponed, Purrier seemed to be on the path all Olympic hopefuls aspire to – peaking ahead of the trials. However, one record was no peak.“Honestly, I feel like it is just kind of better, I feel like a much better athlete now. I have a whole year of training and mileage under my belt,” Purrier said.In the extra time, Purrier added the 2-mile indoor American record to her resume, as well as the world’s best 1500-meter time this season. However, the accolades here in the United States are not what she’s locked in on. “Medaling in the Olympics would be the ultimate goal. I really think I can do it if It’s the right day and the right race,” Purrier said.Growing up on a Vermont dairy farm, a young Purrier didn’t always talk about Olympic medals. “I feel like as a young kid I didn’t ever think that I would be a runner, especially at this level. It’s kind of funny to think back to that. Honestly, I am still getting used to this ‘Elle’ the confidence has come over a long period of time,” Purrier said. Purrier accredits her newfound confidence to physical and mental toughness, as well as staying in her own lane. “I have had a different path to get to where I am as compared to all the people that I am competing against, so me not comparing myself to them,” Purrier said. She’s confident, yet grounded. With hopes to truly experience her Olympic moment.“It would be the ultimate goal to represent my country, and I hope I can really enjoy those moments, if I make it there, you know, just really be there,” Purrier said.A place that only a small percentage of people can say they have ever been.

BELIEVE SHE’S 50. HE DOESN’T LOOK 50 AND IT REMINDS ME HOW LONG I’VE KNOWN HER. SHE WAS JUST A TEENAGER WHEN I FIRST GOT TO TOWN AND HERE SHE IS A COMMISSIONER AGE 50 AND YOU KNOW, I’M 40 AND I ALRIGHT TRUTH AND ADVERTISING LET’S TALK TO WEATHER. ALL RIGHT, YEAH. IT LOOKS TWO DAYS TOO. SO IF YOU DO WANT TO GET OUTSIDE IF MAYBE YOU DIDN’T GET THAT CHANCE TODAY. I KNOW IT STARTED OFF KIND OF. IN AND THOSE CLOUD THE SUN FINALLY CAME OUT ONCE THE CLOUDS CLEARED EARLIER THIS AFTERNOON, BUT THE NEXT TWO DAYS STARTING OFF SUNNY ENDING SUNNY MONDAY AND TUESDAY THINGS START TO CHANGE WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY THOUGH. THAT’S WHEN OUR NEXT RENTAL SYSTEM IS GOING TO BRING IN SOME RAIN AND EVEN THE POTENTIAL FOR SOME THUNDERSTORMS TOO AS SOON AS ABOUT WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. SO IF YOU GET OUT EARLY ENOUGH WEDNESDAY YOUR CHANCE TO GET OUTSIDE STILL IS THERE BUT YOU’LL HAVE TO KIND OF TIME IT OUT SO TEMPERATURES RIGHT NOW SITTING AT 47 IN CINCINNATI CLEAR SKY FOR THE MOST PART AND OVER. RIGHT, WE’LL DROP DOWN TO LOW RIGHT AROUND. SO CHILLY AS YOU HEAD OUT THE DOOR FIRST THING IN THE MORNING, BUT THEN TEMPERATURES ARE GOING TO WARM IN A HURRY AND RADAR IS GOING TO STAY JUST AS QUIET AND NICE AS IT IS RIGHT NOW NO RAIN TO SPEAK OF AT THE MOMENT AND WE’RE NOT GOING TO HAVE ANY FOR ABOUT THE NEXT 48 HOURS. SO LOOKING GOOD HERE AGAIN MONDAY THROUGH TUESDAY BOTH DAYS STARTING THE WEEK OFF ON A VERY VERY GOOD SUNNY NOTE FOR US. SO FOR THE REST OF TONIGHT, WE’LL KIND OF SEE SOME CLOUDS COMING AND GOING BUT BY THE TIME YOU WAKE UP IN THE MORNING, HERE’S 8:30 NOTICE HOW SUNNY IT IS IN. WILL CONTINUE TO WARM INTO THE 70S TOMORROW AFTERNOON. WE ACTUALLY TOP OUT. ON 72 DEGREES DURING THE AFTERNOON. SO LOOKING GORGEOUS. WE’LL HIT THAT ACTUALLY RIGHT AROUND FOUR O’CLOCK OR SO SO YOU CAN SEE NICE AND SUNNY ALL ACROSS GREATER CINCINNATI AND NORTHERN KENTUCKY AND THEN OVERNIGHT MONDAY INTO TUESDAY TEMPERATURES ARE GOING TO BE MILD ONLY DROPPING DOWN TO ABOUT THE 50S BY TUESDAY MORNING. AND THEN TUESDAY AFTERNOON IS GOING TO BE ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL DAY. WE’LL SEE SOME CLOUDS KIND OF COMING AND GOING THROUGHOUT THE DAY MAYBE A FEW MORE CLOUDS COMPARED TO TOMORROW, BUT OVERALL IT STILL LOOKS LIKE A NICE DAY WHERE TEMPERATURES ACTUALLY EACH INTO THE LOW 80S ON TUESDAY. SO THE BEST TWO DAYS TO GET OUTSIDE DEFINITELY MONDAY AND TUESDAY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT. ENJOY. IT IS ALSO GOING TO GET A LITTLE BIT BREEZY ON TUESDAY. SO SOMETHING KEEP IN MIND. WE WILL SEE WIND GUSTING UP TO ABOUT 30 MILES PER HOUR WITH SUSTAINED WINDS ANYWHERE FROM 10 TO 20, BUT THEN BY WEDNESDAY RAINS BACK IN THE FORECAST, SO WEDNESDAY IS GOING TO BE WEATHER IMPACT DAY WITH THAT FRONTAL SYSTEM MOVING THROUGH BRINGING US SOME SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS BY WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. THOSE WILL BE SCATTERED THROUGHOUT THE EVENING AS WELL. AND THEN CONTINUE OVERNIGHT AND THEN MORE RAIN CHANCES FOR THURSDAY, TOO. SO FOR TOMORROW LOTS OF SUNSHINE FOR THE ENTIRE DAY. NOT EVEN LOOKING ALL THAT BREEZY TOMORROW. WE’LL HAVE OUR TYPICAL 5 TO 10 MILE POWER WIN PULLING IN FROM THE SOUTH. THAT’S WHY TEMPERATURES ARE GOING TO BE SO WARM TOMORROW AFTERNOON, BUT IN THE MORNING AGAIN A LITTLE BIT CHILLY 43 UP TO 63 BY LUNCHTIME AND THEN 72 FOR THAT HIGH TEMPERATURE. WE TOPPED OUT TODAY RIGHT AROUND 63. SO ABOUT 10 DEGREES WARMER TOMORROW COMPARED TO WHERE WE HIT TODAY. SO 43 OVERNIGHT THAT LIGHTNING VARIABLE WIND NOT TOO BAD FOR THE OVERNIGHT HOURS AND THEN TOMORROW 72 82 BY TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY BOTH ARE GOING TO BE WEATHER IMPACT DAYS DESPITE THE FACT THAT WE DO HAVE THAT RAIN AROUND FOR THE MAJORITY OF THE DAY THURSDAY AND PART OF WEDNESDAY TEMPERATURES ARE SO GOING TO REACH INTO THE UPPER 70S. SO WE’RE STARTING TO SEE THINGS WARMING UP A LITTLE BIT OVERNIGHT 50S AND 60S AND THEN HEADING INTO THE END OF THE WEEK ONCE THE RAIN STARTS TO MOVE OUT OF HERE OVERALL STILL LOOKS PRETTY NICE THROUGHOUT T

THAT’S A SMALL EXTRA STEP THEY’RE WILLING TO TAKE FOR THEIR KIDS TO ENJOY A NORMAL SUMMER AGA -- SHERRI CEVALIER MOVED TO CINCINNATI WITH HER FOUR-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER LAST YEAR AMID A PANDEMIC, AND JUST DAYS BEFORE MANY PLAYGROUNDS AND OUTDOOR POOLS CLOSED. &gt;&gt; YOU KNOW IT WAS A LITTLE DISAPPOINTING CONSIDERING IT WAS THE HEIGHT OF THE SUMMER, SO H AND SHE DID NOT HAVE MUCH TO DO. HELENA: NOT MUCH TO DO FOR A VIBRANT LITTLE GIRL LOOKING FO ADVENTURE AND FRIENDS. BUT THIS SUMMER PARENTS LIKE CEVALIER ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO THEIR KIDS BEING ABLE TO SPLASH AROUND TOGETHER AGAIN. &gt;&gt; I’M EXCITED ABOUT THE POOL OPENING AND IT BEING SO CLOSE WE’RE JUST AROUND THE BLOCK. HELENA: THE CINCINNATI RECREATION COMMISSION ANNOUNCING 13 POOLS WILL BE OPEN THIS SUMMER FOUR OF THEM DUNHAM, MCKIE, PLEASANT RIDGE AND HIRSCH SET TO OPEN THIS COMING WEEKEND. &gt;&gt; THIS PAST YEAR HAS JUST BEEN SO CRAZY, AND I THINK IT’S IMPORTANT FOR THE KIDS TO GET OUT, BE AROUND OTHER KIDS, HAVE FUN. HELENA: SEVERAL PUBLIC PLAYGROUNDS AND POOLS DID CLOSE FOR A LITTLE LAST YEAR. SOME GRADUALLY REOPENED AND TIMES YOU COULD VISIT THE POOL WERE LIMITED. THIS YEAR, YOU’LL STILL NEED TO MAKE A RESERVATION. THERE WILL BE TWO THREE-HOUR SWIM BLOCKS AT EACH POOL WITH A HALF HOUR BREAK IN BETWEEN FOR CLEANING. THE POOLS WILL OPEN AT NOON ON THE WEEKEND, WITH A SELECT FEW OPEN SEVEN DAYS A WEEK. &gt;&gt; I’M VERY EXCITED FOR THE KIDS TO HAVE SOMETHING TO DO BESIDES RUN AROUND AND FROLIC IN THE GRASS. HELENA: RAFEVEL GREEN HAS WORKED AT THE MCKIE RECREATION CENTER FOR TWO YEARS ONE OF THE PLACES KIDS WILL BE ABLE TO SWIM MONDAY THROUGH SUNDAY HE’S EXPECTING THIS TO BE BUSY. &gt;&gt; I THINK AROUND HERE THERE’ NOT A LOT TO DO SO THERE’S ALWAYS LINES OF PEOPLE OUT HERE WAITING. AND IF YOU DON’T CALL BEFORE YOU WONT GET ON THE WAITING LIST. HELENA: AS A LIBERATION FOR THESE POOLS OPENING WILL TAKE PLACE THIS COMING SATURDAY AT 11:30 AT THE RECREATION CENTER.

ELSE. YES FOR SURE. IT’S FUNNY BECAUSE I’VE HEARD FROM DIFFERENT COMMUNITIES WHO HAVE SEEN THE CICADA SO FAR AND WHO HAVE NOT MASON HAPPENS TO BE AN AREA THAT HAS NOT SEEN ANY CICADAS YET, OR AT LEAST I HAVEN’T HEARD ANYBODY THERE SAYING THEY’RE OUT BATAVIA ANOTHER AREA TOO. SO FOR TONIGHT’S TEMPERATURES ARE STILL GOING TO BE MILD. I’M SURE THOSE CICADAS WILL BE SINGING FIRST THING IN THE MORNING BECAUSE WE’RE ONLY DROPPING DOWN TO ABOUT 65 TONIGHT. SO RELATIVELY MILD BY THE TIME YOU WAKE UP IN THE MORNING. TO AND IT IS GOING TO BE MOSTLY CLOUDY TONIGHT THROUGHOUT THE MORNING AS WELL. I THINK EVEN AT TIMES A LITTLE BIT CLOUDY IT’S DRY THOUGH OUTSIDE AND THAT’S WHY WE SAY FOR THE REST OF TONIGHT. THANKS TO THIS AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE. NOW, THERE WILL BE SOME SHOWERS MOVING A LITTLE BIT CLOSER TO COLUMBUS WITH THIS FRONT HERE, BUT FOR THE MOST PART HERE IN GREATER CINCINNATI, WE ARE GOING TO STAY DRY. NOT ONLY TONIGHT BUT THROUGHOUT THE NEXT TWO DAYS MORE DRY WEATHER ON THE WAY. WE’LL START TO SEE THAT CHANGING BY THE TIME WE GET TO THE MIDDLE OF THE WEEK. THAT’S WHEN SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS RETURN. AND THAT’S GOING TO CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THE END OF THE WEEK AS WELL EVEN INTO NEXT WEEKEND. SO FOR THE REST OF TONIGHT, MOSTLY CLOUDY AND THEN BY THE TIME YOU WAKE UP IN THE MORNING, VERY CLOUDY OUTSIDE CHECK THIS OUT ON FUTURECAST AND IT IS GOING TO BE MILD AND TEMPERATURES WARM UP VERY FAST TOMORROW DESPITE THE FACT THAT WE ARE GOING TO HAVE THOSE CLOUDS AROUND IN THE MORNING, TOO. WE’LL REACH INTO THE UPPER 80S AGAIN TOMORROW AFTERNOON AND WE STAY DRY THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE DAY TOMORROW NOW I DO THINK WE’LL START TO SEE SOME OF THE CLOUDS CLEARING JUST ENOUGH TOMORROW AFTERNOON. WE’LL SEE A LITTLE BIT OF SUNSHINE HERE AND THERE SO THERE WILL BE SOME PEAKS OF SUN TOMORROW DURING THE SECOND HALF THE DAY, BUT I DO EXPECT IT TO BE RELATIVELY CLOUDY TO START AND THEN OVERNIGHT MOSTLY CLEAR AND THEN LOOKING MOSTLY SUNNY ON TUESDAY AND THAT IS WHEN WE ACTUALLY COULD SEE TEMPERATURES REACHING CLOSE TO 90 DEGREES NOW TOMORROW WE TOP OUT AROUND 88, SO THAT’S PRETTY CLOSE TO 82 BUT 89 FOR THAT HIGH TEMP AT LEAST THE FORECAST HIGH TEMPERATURE FOR TUESDAY. WE’LL BE DRY FOR THE NEXT TWO DAYS. AND THEN THAT’S WHEN WE WERE TALKING ABOUT THE RAIN CHANCES START TO COME BACK. TO THE FORECAST WEDNESDAY WITH SOME SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS BY WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. THIS IS GOING TO BE A SLOW MOVING COLD FRONT THAT MOVES INTO GREATER CINCINNATI AND THEN THE NORTH ANOTHER STORM CENTER MOVES IN HERE BY THE END OF THE WEEK BRINGING US A PRETTY HIGH CHANCE OF RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS FOR FRIDAY. NOW TOMORROW I GET TEMPERATURES ARE GONNA WARM UP FAST ABOUT 10 DEGREES OF A CLIMB FROM 7 AM UNTIL 9:00 IN THE MORNING TOMORROW 74 AT THAT POINT 82 BY LUNCHTIME AND THEN ALL THE WAY UP TO 88. FOR THE HIGH TEMPERATURE. SO BE SURE IF YOU WANT TO DO ANY SORT OF ACTIVITY OUTSIDE TOMORROW PLAN THAT FROM WHEN IT’S NOT GOING TO BE SUPER HOT OUTSIDE RIGHT AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER AND HAVE THAT SUNSCREEN HANDY TOO 65 TONIGHT FOR THE LOW AND THEN THROUGHOUT THE DAY TOMORROW, VERY WARM 89 FOR HIGH TEMPERATURE AND TUESDAY AND THEN AS WE HEAD INTO NEXT WEEKEND MORIAL WEEKEND RAIN CHANCES LOOKING PRETTY LIKELY FRIDAY, AND THEN ALSO A LITTLE BIT COOLER BY THE TIME SATURDAY AND SUNDAY ROLL AROUND INTO THE 70S PARTLY TO MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A

WEATHER. SEEMS LIKE THAT WILL BE THE CASE TOMORROW. ALLISON: TOMORROW WILL BE NICE, VERY HOT. BUT STILL THE CHANCE WE COULD HAVE AN ISOLATED POP-UP MOVING THROUGH THE AREA. OVERALL, RELATIVELY DRY. THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS, THE FORECAST LOOKING DRY. EVEN NEAR 90. POSSIBLY EVEN AGAIN ON WEDNESDAY. WE GET HOT IN A HURRY. IT WILL STICK AROUND FOR A LITTLE WHILE. TEMPERATURES AT 69 IN CINCINNATI. TOPPED OUT AT 85. A WARM DAY. THE DEW POINT IN THE 50’S FOR THE MAJORITY OF THE DAY. ONCE IT GETS INTO THE 60’S AND 70’S, IT STARTS TO FEEL VERY HUMID. WE COULD SEE SOME DEW POINTS INTO THE 60’S. IT MIGHT FEEL MORE STICKY OUTSIDE DURING THE AFTERNOON. THERE IS POTENTIAL FOR A POP-UP MAINLY BETWEEN 3:00 AND 6:00. HEADING OUT TO THE RIVERFRONT CONCERT FOR SMITH AND MYERS, OVERALL IT LOOKS OK. AT THAT POINT IN TIME, CHANCE OF RAIN. ANY POINT YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE REDS GAME OR SOMETHING, LOOKING OK. KEEP IN MIND THERE IS POTENTIAL FOR AN ISOLATED SHOWER. AND IT IS GOING TO BE HOT. TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER 80’S. MOST OF US AROUND 87 DEGREES. IT WILL BE QUITE WARM. MAKE SURE TO DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. THE SUNSCREEN MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE. OVERNIGHT, MOSTLY CLEAR. TOMORROW MORNING, WE ARE SUNNY TO START. THEN WE WILL SEE THE CLOUDS INCREASING THROUGH THE AFTERNOON AS TEMPERATURES MAKE THEIR WAY INTO THE UPPER 80’S. ISOLATED POP-UPS A POSSIBILITY. THEY WILL BE RANDOM ACROSS THE AREA. ONE NEIGHBORHOOD COULD GET A SHOWER, THE OTHER COULD STAY DRY. ONCE THE SUN GOES DOWN, THE RAIN GOES AWAY. IT WILL BE DRY MONDAY, AS WELL. TEMPERATURES JUST AS WARM, IF NOT WARMER IN THE AFTERNOON. GETTING CLOSER TO THE 90 DEGREE MARK. THERE IS A CHANCE WE HIT CLOSE TO 90. TEMPERATURES OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS ABOVE AVERAGE. ALSO IN RECORD TERRITORY, BECAUSE WE ARE TOPPING OUT A COUPLE OF DEGREES CLOSE TO WHERE THE RECORD STANDS. THIS IS WHAT I’M FORECASTING FROM HIGH TEMPERATURES. I DON’T THINK WE BREAK ANY RECORDS BY ANY MEANS. BUT I THINK AS WE GET CLOSE, ESPECIALLY TOMORROW. TONIGHT, TEMPERATURES DROPPING TO ABOUT 66. MORE MILD BY THE MORNING. EXPECT WIND FROM FIVE TO 10 MILES PER HOUR. WEDNESDAY, WE COULD HIT 90 DEGREES. I’M FORECASTING A HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 90. IT WOULD NOT BE THE EARLIEST 90 DEGREE DAY EVER. I HAVE US IN THE 30’S ON APRIL 11. STILL EARLY TO SEE A 90 DEGREE DAY POSSIBLY. RAIN CHANCES INCREASE WEDNESDAY, TOO. LOOKS MOS

Cool down your dog in summer by offering access to a paddling pool, moving their bed to a shady spot and ensuring they hydrate with refreshing water. Unlike humans, dogs can't sweat through their skin, making it harder for them to cool off in the heat. "We're all pleased that lockdown is finally easing and we can begin to safely see our loved ones again, and get out and about to enjoy the warm summer weather," Paula Boyden, veterinary director at the Dogs Trust in the U.K., says."But we're urging pet owners to consider keeping their pets at home during the hottest parts of the day when temperatures can soar. While it's important to exercise your dog and continue to meet their welfare needs, sometimes it is in their best interests to leave them at home for short periods if you're going out to enjoy the hot weather and leave their until the cooler evenings or early morning."Take a look at how you can cool a dog down when the temperature rises. How do you lower a dog's temperature? Some of the simple things you can do to cool down your dog include: 1. Avoid exercising your pet during excessively hot weather and walk early in the morning or late in the evening when it's cooler.2. Remember that pavements can get very hot and may burn your pets' paws. This clever seven-second trick will help you to know whether the pavement is too hot to walk your dog.3. Ensure animals have access to shade and fresh drinking water at all times.4. Use a cooling mat or wrap an ice pack or frozen water bottle in a tea towel for your pet to lie on.5. Use cold treats from the fridge for added moisture or make an ice lolly from pet-friendly ingredients. Try this clever DIY 'Ice Lick' hack to keep your dog cool. 6. Remember to never leave a dog trapped in a hot car. Will wetting a dog cool it down?Dogs can't cool down as easily as we can, which is why you will often find them panting as a way to keep cool. If you notice that your dog is struggling with rising temperatures, let them splash around in a dog paddling pool placed in the shade. When it comes to cooling down a hot dog, always give them a bowl of cold water. With immediate effects, it will help your pup to cool down from inside his stomach. When heading out on a summer's walk, always ensure you have refreshing water with you. How can you tell if a dog is overheated? Some of the early signs of heatstroke include: Panting Difficulty breathingTirednessLess keen to playDroolingVomiting "If you spot any of these, take immediate action," Paula adds. "Stop exercising your dog, bring your dog inside into a cool area, give your dog a drink and seek veterinary advice immediately. Severe heatstroke can cause multiple seizures, complete loss of consciousness, loss of coordination, confusion and vomiting and diarrhea with blood. If untreated it can prove fatal." How do you cool down an overheated dog?If your dog is overheating, some of the things to do include using tap water to cool them off (opt for lukewarm water to avoid shocking them). As well as this, take your dog directly out of the sun and into a shaded spot. Place a bowl of cold water in front of your dog, but allow them to drink it when they're ready (they may be too focused on heavy panting to drink). If you are still concerned about your dog's heat, always head to your local vet. Give your dog the chance to cool down before traveling.
