SHOULD BE OUT OF HERE RIGHT NOW. WE’RE DEALING WITH DRY CONDITIONS, BUT IT’S NOT GNGOI TO BE LIKE THIS FOR MUCH LONGER AND THROUGH LATE TONIGHT WILL START TO SEE THOSE CHANGES MOVE IN YOU LOOK AT LIVE RADAR ACROSS THE GREATER CINCINNATI AREA, MAYBE A FEW LIKE SPRINKLES UP THERE INTO PARTS OF WARREN MAYBE GETTING IN TOWARDS PARTS OF NEAR CLINTON COUNTY SOME LIGHT RETURNS THERE AND THEN THE REST FURTHER OFF TO THE WEST WE HAVE THIS FIRST LINE MOVING THROUGH INDIANAPOLIS INTO PARTS OF INDIANA, BUTHAT T LINE AS YOU NOTICE SOME OF THAT INITIAL ORSTM ACTIVITY STARTING TO WEEKEND. SO THAT'’ GOING TO APPROACH US IN THE NEXT HOUR TOO. BUT A LOT OF IT MAY BE BROKEN UP BY THE TIME GETS TO US SO SOME GOOD NEWS THERE. SO CAN THE SUNSHINE WHILE YOU CAN THIS EVENING, BUT THE MORE IMPORTANT LINE THAT WE’RE WAHITCNG IS FURTHER OFF TO THE STWE THAT COLD FRONT OUT INTO PARTS OF ILLINOIS DOWN INTO PARTS OF MISSOURI THAT IS BEEN PRODUCING A LOT OF THE SEVERE STORMS. AND THAT’S AOLS WHAT WE SAW EARLRIE OUT INTO PARTS OF KANSAS WITH TSEHO TORNADOES OUT THERE. SO RIGHT NOW FORTUNATELY NO TORNADO WARNINGS ON THAT LINE, BUT AWERE GOING TO BE WATCHING FOR THAT CHANCE FOR STRONG STORMS MOVING INTO OUR REGNIO AS WE HEAD INTO LATE TONIGHT THEN IN THROUGH THE AND INTO EARLY SUNDAY, SOET L’S TRACK THIS HERE ON THE SEVERE WEATHER OUTLOOK MAP. WE HAVE A MARGINAL RISK ACROSS MUCH OF A HAMILTON COUNTY BUTLER WARREN COUNTY GETTING IONT INTO PARTS OF IT THEN INTO BOONKIN COTYUN CANTON COUNTY AND IONT PARTS OF OWEN AND INTO PARTS OF GRANT COUNTY AS WELL ON THOSE NORTHERN EDGES NOW ON THAT FRINGE EDGE JUST BECAUSE WE HAVE THIS HARD LE.IN IT’S NOT A NECESSARILY WHERE SEVERE STORMS ARE GOING TO STOP WE COULD SEE YOUR THATRE EVEN A LITTLE BIT WET EAST OF THAT, BUT IT’S GOING TO DECREASE A LITTLE BIT AS WELL FURUTECAST TIMING THIS HOUR BY HOUR FOR YOU AS WE GO THROUGH TONIGHT. YOU SEE AITTLE L BIT OF THAT INITIAL RAIN THREAT COMING THROUGH AND THEN THAT CDOL FRONT APPROACHING REALLY AFTER MIDNIGHT INTO THE EARLY MORNING HOUR OSN SUNDAY. SO HERE WE ARE ONE INTO TWO O’CLOCK AM AND THAT STORM THREAD REALLY GONNA BECOME. WIDESPREAD ACROSS OUR REGION AS WE GO INTO THOSE EARLY MORNING HOURSHR TOUGH THE OVERNIGHT. I SHOULD SAY REALLY AND THEN BY THE EARLY MORNING ON SUNDAY AS WE SRTTA TO PREPARE FOR THE FLYING PIG FEW ISOLATED SHOWERS REMAINING AROUND BUT THE BULK OF THE RAIN GOING TO BE MOVING OUT TO THE EAST SO BY RACE TIME THINGS LOOKING A LOT BETTER FOR US AND EVEN ASE W GET INTO THE RACE CONDITIONS GET A LOT SUNNIER FOR US AND TEMPERATURES ARE GOINGO T CLIMB FROM THE 60S INTO THE 70S FOR THE AFTERNOON. SO BESIDES MAYBE PASSING SHOWER TO START OUT THE RACE. IT WAS LOONGKI REALLY GOOD FOR US FOR THAT FLYING PIG. WE JUST HAVE TO MEAK IT THROUGH THAT STORM THREAT TONIGHT. I KNOW A LOT OF PEOPLE WILL BE ASLEEP TONIGHT WITH THOSE STMSOR. SO MAKE SURE TO SET THOSE ALERTS ON YOUR PHONES WITH THE NEWS WEATHER APP, AND WE CAN ALERT YOU AS WELL THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT ONIR A WE GO INTO MONDAY DRY CONDITIONS CONTINUING THERE AS WELL RIGHT NOW THOSE TEMPERATURES NOTOO BAD T HERE FOR THIS EVENING TEMPERATURES AT 72 HEER IN CINCINNATI THOSE EAST SOUTHEAST WINDS AROUND 16 MILES AN HOUR. A NICE LITTLE BREEZE OUT THERE, BUTOU Y SEE THOSE CLOUDS OR SUNSHINE COMING IN THIS AFTERNOON. THAT’S WHY WE HAVE 70S ACROSS MUCH OF NORTHERN KENTUCKY WESTERN PARTS OF THE VIEWING AREA AND 60S OUTO T THE EAST SO FOR TONIGHT, WE’LL HAVE THOSE TEERMPATURES DOWN THROUGH THE 60S BY TOMORROW AS I MENTIONED BACK INTO ETH MID 70S IN THE FORECASTS AND BREEZ WYINDS AT TIMES WE COULD SEE GUS GETTING UP TO 25, MAYBE 30IL MES AN HOUR ANOTHER WEATHER IMPACT DAY COMING IN FOR TUESDAY. THAT’S THE NTEX RAIN THUNDERSTORM THREAT. OTHERWISE A DRYER PATTERN AS WE GO THROUGH MUCH OFHE T WEEK AND TEMPERATURES GENERALLY STAYING AROUND THE 70S AND UPPER 60S THROUGH MUCH OF THE WKEE AS WELL. BUT OTHERWISE GOO

The severe weather threat Tuesday brought Kenton County emergency teams together for a training. “This is very timely training,” Kenton County Homeland Security and Emergency Management director Steve Hensley said. “We spend a great deal of time planning for events we hope never occur, but on occasion, unfortunately, we know that they do.”As the potential for severe weather loomed, agencies from across Kenton County and beyond came together to train including police, fire, environmental agencies and hospital representatives among others. The teams are preparing for disasters such as tornados, floods, chemical spills, terrorist activities and unforeseen problems.“That’s what this is today, bringing everyone together so the first time they meet is not in the event of a real disaster,” Hensley said. “These kinds of exercises help us practice those skills. So, when those unfortunate real-life situations happen, we can hit the ground running,” said Ft. Mitchell police Chief Andrew Schierberg.

MUCH. IF YOU ARE JUST TUNING AND, WHAT A WEATHER DAY WE HAVE HAD. DRIVING IN AROUND 2:30 TODAY OVER DOWNTOWN CINCINNATI, YOU CAN JUST SEE THE DARK, DARK CLOUDS AND THEN IT HIT. THE WIND, THE HEAVY, HEAVY RAIN AND WE ARE STARTING TO SEE THE DAMAGE FROM AFTERNOON STORMS. MIKE: MAYBE ABOUT 45 AND ITS AGO AS WE STARTED HEARING MOST OF THE EMERGENCY CALLS. WE HEARD SKINNER TRAFFIC AND YOU HAVE TO WATCH WITH A SITUATION LIKE THIS. KEVIN SAID WILL NOT GET INFORMATION OF THE POTENTIAL TORNADO IN GOSHEN FOR QUITE SOME TIME BUT PEOPLE CLAIMED THEY HEARD ENTIRE NATO -- I’M GETTING WORD FROM A VIEWER NAMED ELITE WHO I KNOW VERY WELL OUT OF THE GOSHEN AREA THAT THE AREA ALONG 28 WHERE THERE IS A SKYLINE RESTAURANT, THERE’S ALL KINDS OF DESTRUCTION THERE. 101,000 CUSTOMERS RIGHT NOW WITHOUT POWER. WE ARE TALKING ABOUT A QUARTER OF A MILLION PEOPLE IN GREATER CINCINNATI. WE ARE GETTING ALL KINDS OF PHOTOS OF ALL KINDS OF AREAS INCLUDING LOVELAND WHERE YOU SAW MAJOR BIG THESE DOWN. >> JEFF TAYLOR WAS PRESAGING US PLEASE SEND US ANY DAMAGE OR VIDEO YOU SEND US ANY PICTURES, HELP US TELL THE STORY THERE WHERE THEY HAVE THESE BIG, BEAUTIFUL TREES, WITH POSSIBILITIES FOR DAMAGE AROUND THE KROGER OUT THERE IN LOVELAND AS WELL. LIKE WE SAY, ONE OF THE HARDEST HIT AREAS IS GOSHEN. OUR REPORTER, DANIEL DIDN’T DAC, HAS BEEN -- DANIELLE DINDAK, IN LIVE DRIVE 5. I DON’T KNOW IF YOU ARE IN GOSHEN, YET, BUT GIVE US AN IDEA OF WHAT YOU ARE SEEING. DANIELLE: THE DRIVE OUT HERE, I CAN’T STRESS THIS ENOUGH, HAS BEEN VERY DANGEROUS. ON THE WAY HERE WE HAVE SEEN A LOT OF SNAPPED TREES, ROADS WITH WATER ON IT. WE ARE ABOUT ONE HOUR AWAY FROM WHERE WE ARE GETTING REPORTS THAT MULTIPLE PEOPLE ARE TRAPPED IN A MOBILE HOME PARK. DRIVING HERE WE HAVE BEEN STUCK IN STANDSTILL TRAFFIC AND WE SAW A LOT OF EMERGENCY VEHICLES ZOOMING PAST US WITH DIFFERENT AMBULANCES COMING THE OPPOSITE WAY. AS YOU CAN SEE, KIND OF STANDSTILL TRAFFIC AS WE MAKE OUR WAY TO GOSHEN. IN THAT MOBILE HOME AREA WE ARE GETTING REPORTS OF A LOT OF ENTRAPMENT’S AND WE WILL MAKE SURE TO UPDATE YOU GUYS ON WHAT WE SEE. MIKE: ALL RIGHT, DANIELLE ABOUT ONE MILE AWAY FROM REPORTS WHERE THERE ARE REPORTS OF PEOPLE TRAPPED IN A MOBILE HOME PARK. AGAIN, WE ARE ASKING YOU TO HELP TELL THE WEATHER STORY. NEWS DESKS@WLWT.COM, WE LIKE TO LET PEOPLE IN KNOW, GIVE THEM A WARNING. 2:30, THREE :00, THE WITCHING HOUR WHEN EVERYTHING WAS GOING ON YOU WERE GETTING CALLS FROM POLICE SOURCES ABOUT SOMETHING THAT COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS IN CINCINNATI. SHEREE: IT SOUNDED LIKE A BARGE BROKE LOOSE AND WAS HEADED TOWARDS THE BRENT SPENCE RIDGE. -- PAGE. THERE WAS A HUGE CONCERN --. -- BRIDGE. TODD, GIVE US AN IDEA, WHAT WERE YOU SEEING BEHIND YOU, THERE? TODD: A REAL DOOZY OF A DAY. I’M STEPPING OUT OF THE WAY SO MY VIDEOGRAPHER, HENRY GRIFFITH, CAN SHOW WHAT WE ARE SEEING RIGHT NOW. JUST TO THE WEST OF THE BRENT SPENCE BRIDGE, TOWARDS NORTHERN KENTUCKY, YOU CAN SEE THE REMNANTS OF ONE SECTION OF A BARGE. I UNDERSTAND WE’RE WERE -- AS I UNDERSTAND WHAT HAPPENED, ANOTHER VESSEL WAS HEADED UPRIVER AND WHAT THE SITUATION LOOKED LIKE AS WE CROSSED TO GET INTO POSITION, THERE WAS ANOTHER SECTION OF THE BARGE I NOTICED THAT EXTENDED FURTHER TOWARDS THE OHIO RIVER. THAT WAS 25, 30 MINUTES AGO. FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND I WAS ABLE TO REACH OUT TO THE COVINGTON POLICE DEPARTMENT AND GOT SOME GOOD INFORMATION THERE AND IT APPEARS THAT THE TUG THAT I SAW TOOK THE ONE SECTION PROTRUDING SIDEWAYS INTO THE RIVER, MANAGED TO GET IT AWAY AND INTO SAFETY, WHEREVER IT NEEDED TO BE, AND WHAT WE ARE LOOKING AT NOW APPEARS TO BE THE OTHER SECTION OF THE BARGE THAT IS PROPERLY MOORED TO THE SHORELINE ON THE OHIO SIDE. CONVOLUTED WITH TWO MOVING PARTS, APPARENTLY. PRESUMABLY THE STORM MUST HAVE SENT IT SIDEWAYS BUT IT WAS NOT THE KIND OF SCENE YOU WANT TO SEE HEADED WEST, KNOWING THAT THE BRENT SPENCE MIGHT HAVE TO BE SHUT DOWN ON -- AT SOME POINT BECAUSE OF A BARGE ON THE LOOSED -- LOOSE. THE LIEUTENANT I SPOKE TO INDICATED THAT THINGS ARE UNDER CONTROL NOW, GOOD NEWS CONSIDERING THE TENS OF THOUSANDS OF COMMUTERS THAT RELY ON THE BRIDGE DAILY. LOOKS LIKE WE HAVE AVOIDED WHAT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE LATEST HEADACHE. LOOKS LIKE THAT TOW BOAT IS JUST CRUISING BACK TOWARDS THE SAWYER POINT AREA, HEADED UPSTREAM. CERTAINLY MOMENTS OF DRAMA REACHING OUT TO THE COAST GUARD AND THE KENTUCKY DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND OH. AS WELL, GOING TO REACH OUT TO CINCINNATI FIRE IN A SECOND. THIS IS ALL DEVELOPING REALLY QUICKLY. THE KEY TAKE AWAY IS THAT THE NEWS SEEMS TO BE ENCOURAGING AND THINGS ARE NOT AS BAD AS WHAT WE FIRST BOUGHT THEY COULD HAVE BEEN. SHEREE: TODD, THANK YOU FOR THE UPDATE. A BUSY AFTERNOON AND THE THING IMPACTING SO MANY OF YOU ARE THESE POWER OUTAGES. DUKE ENERGY CONFIRMING 100 ONE HOMES AND BUSINESSES, CUSTOMERS, WITHOUT POWER RIGHT NOW AND THIS IS JUST A COUPLE OF WEEKS AFTER THEY WERE DEALING WITH 100 AND 60,000 POWER OUTAGES. MIKE: 75,000 IF YOU LOOK AROUND THE METRO AREA, 25,000 IN NORTHERN KENTUCKY. LET’S BRING KEVIN ROBINSON BACK IN. LET’S TALK MORE ABOUT THE SITUATION IN GOSHEN. YOU DON’T GET CONFIRMATION ON TORNADO UNTIL THE EXPERTS COME IN, BUT A LOT OF PEOPLE SAID THEY SAW SOMETHING TOUCH DOWN JUDGING FROM REPORTS OF DISRUPTION IT APPEARS LIKELY. -- DESTRUCTION IT APPEARS LIKELY. KEVIN: IT APPEARS THAT WE DID HAVE A BRIEF BUT INTENSE TORNADO FOR A FEW MINUTES. IT’S RARE AND IT DOESN’T HAPPEN OFTEN BECAUSE FOR THE MOST PART THESE ARE RUN-OF-THE-MILL SONOROUS STORMS BUT OCCASIONALLY IF YOU CAN GET ENOUGH AOUND REES TO INTERACT, YOU WILL GET THAT ONE AND A THOUSAND CHANCE FOR A SPIN UP TORNADO AND THAT’S BASICALLY WHAT HAPPENED. TALKING ABOUT WHAT OCCURRED HERE, ADAM IS TAKING US BACK ON THE RADAR. HERE’S THE COMMUNITY, GOSHEN. NOTICE BEFORE WE WERE DEALING WITH NASTY THUNDERSTORMS, RIGHT? THERE IS A BOUNDARY IT SEEMS RIGHT IN HERE AND WATCH WHAT HAPPENS, TAKE IT FORWARD AND YOU WILL NOTICE ALL OF A SUDDEN THERE SEEMS TO BE SOME KIND OF CIRCULATION THAT HAS COME TOGETHER AND YOU GET A BRIEF TORNADO THAT TRAVELED THROUGH, I SHOULD SAY, UNCONFIRMED TORNADO AT THIS POINT. IN ALL LIKELIHOOD IT SOUNDS LIKE TORNADO, HERE. MOVING TOWARDS CLERMONT COUNTY FROM GOSHEN TO THE NEWTON’S AREA. NOTICE THAT WE LOSE THE TIGHT CIRCULATION? IT’S ONLY THERE FOR A FEW MINUTES AND THEN IT BECOMES MORE BROAD AND WE GET THE POTENTIAL FOR STRONG WINDS. TRANSITIONING WHAT WAS -- AWAY FROM WHAT WAS IN ALL LIKELIHOOD A BRIEF TORNADO TO STRAIGHT-LINE WINDS AS IT WORKED ITS WAY TO THE EAST. NOW WHAT WE HAVE HAPPENING FOR THE REST OF THE AREA IS WE ARE STILL DEALING WITH SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS. PARTICULARLY FOR THOSE OF YOU OUT HERE IN PARTS OF HIGHLAND COUNTY DOWN INTO ADAMS COUNTY. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE IN EFFECT AND WE ARE STILL DEALING WITH STRONG WIND. YOU CAN SEE HOW FAR AHEAD OF THIS LINE OF STORMS THE WEATHER SERVICE IS. STILL DEALING WITH SEVERE WEATHER AND SEVERE WIND. NO TORNADO WARNINGS BUT DOWN HERE IN MAYSVILLE, THE STRONG WIND IS RIGHT ON TOP OF YOU AT THE MOMENT. WANT TO CHECK ON THAT VELOCITY FOR A MOMENT? CAN WE GET AN ESTIMATE ON THE WIND SPEEDS? YES, ON THE LEADING EDGE, KEEP IN MIND THAT BECAUSE WE ARE STAYING FURTHER AWAY FROM THE ACTUAL RADAR SITE, REMEMBER THE EARTH IS CURVED AND ONCE IT GETS FARTHER AWAY YOU SEE HIGHER UP INTO IT. WE ARE SEEING WIND IS STILL ON THE ORDER OF 40 TO 50 MILES PER HOUR WITH THIS. SO THERE IS PROBABLY STILL ENOUGH TO BRING DOWN TREES AND BRANCHES, RESULTING IN SPOTTY POWER OUTAGES AROUND THE AREA. I’M FAIRLY CONFIDENT BUT WE WILL FIND WORKING OUR WAY THROUGH THE EVENING IS THAT THE GOSHEN EVENT WAS ONE OF THOSE RARE OCCURRENCES WHERE EVERYTHING CAME TOGETHER TO SUPPORT TORNADIC ACTIVITY BUT ALL IN ALL THESE ARE DAMAGING STRAIGHT-LINE WINDS THAT WE ARE MOST CONCERNED ABOUT THIS AFTERNOON AND RIGHT NOW THE WORST OF IT IS MOVING THROUGH THE PEOPLE’S COMMUNITY ALMOST OUT OF HIGHLAND COUNTY. LET’S TALK ABOUT THOSE FOLKS THERE. PAST YOU AT THE MOMENT, YOU CAN SEE HERE HOW WE HAD BROAD CIRCULATION. BROAD CIRCULATION HELPING TO DRIVE THESE STRONGER WINDS THROUGH THE REST OF HIGHLAND COUNTY AND ADAMS COUNTY AS WELL. ADAM, ARE YOU GETTING ADDITIONAL REPORTS FROM THE WEATHER SERVICE ? ADAM: TREES DOWN, WIND DOWN IN THE REGION AS WELL WITH MINOR TREE DAMAGE AND OBVIOUSLY GOSHEN BEING THE WORST OF IT. WE HAD ONE REPORT FROM HIGHLAND COUNTY OF A GUST OF 47 MILES PER HOUR CONFIRMED IN THE AREA NEIL -- NEAR HILLSBORO WHEN THE STORM WAS MOVING THROUGH EARLIER. OBVIOUSLY WE HAVE BEEN SEEING RADAR ESTIMATES HIGHER. TALKING ABOUT THESE RADARS GETTING FURTHER AWAY, HIGHER INTO THE STORM. STRONG WIND IS STILL THERE AND WE STILL NEED TO BE ON THE WATCH FOR THAT AND LIGHTNING, KEVIN. KEVIN: THANK YOU, I’M GOING TO SEND IT BACK TO THE TASK. GUY’S I’M SURE THE INFORMATION IS POURING IN FAST AND FOOT FURIOUS WITH WHAT’S HAPPENING IN THE GOSHEN COMMUNITY. FROM THE WEATHER STANDPOINT FOR THE FOLKS WONDERING WHAT’S HAPPENING, STRONG WIND IS THE CONCERN IN ADAMS COUNTY. FOR ANY OF Y

After severe storms hit the Tri-State early Saturday morning, thousands of residents in the Greater Cincinnati region lost power.

As of 2:40 p.m. Saturday afternoon, Duke Energy reported 4,568 customers were without power, stemming from 224 active outages throughout the region. In Cincinnati, the largest outage clusters were on the west side of the city, comprising more than 1,000 of the outages region-wide.

By 8:20 p.m., most of those outages were resolved, with Duke Energy reporting 463 customers without power and 56 active outages. By then, the region in the area most affected by power outages was Colerain, which reported 247 homes without power.

High winds persisted through the region Saturday, hindering Duke Energy's ability to restore power to homes. Duke Energy said it hopes as wind velocities diminish through the day, crews will be able to restore service more efficiently.

Indiana reported thousands of outages on Saturday, but most of the outages located within the Tri-State area were resolved by the afternoon.

Over 56,000 were without power in all of Kentucky on Saturday morning after four tornadoes hit the state, killing at least 50 people, with the number expected to grow between 70-100. Gov. Beshear has declared a State of Emergency and has asked President Biden for an emergency declaration from the federal government.

During a 5 a.m. press conference on Saturday, Beshear said emergency crews were already headed to Western Kentucky to assist in rescuing people trapped in buildings. He said crews were also on their way to help clear debris and restore power.

Many of the outages were due to a major tornado that hit Mayfield in Graves County.

You can keep track of the Duke Energy area outage map here.

and through the very moment that we are standing here, we have lived through some of the toughest hours of our lives as Kentucky ins. This event is the worst, most devastating, most deadly tornado event in Kentucky's history. I believe that by the end of today for tomorrow um We will be north of at least 70 lives lost here in Kentucky. I think we will have lost more than 100 people and I think it could rise significantly in those numbers. About 1:00 AM. I was at the state Emergency Operations Center hearing the reports coming in live places like my parents hometown, Dawson Springs, which I just came from and how hard it was hit hearing about families trapped in a basement and actually thinking they're lucky as long as we can get to them based on what happened from so many other families. Hearing about the amazing efforts of our first responders so many in this room. We thank you every day. But we, we have absolutely thank you today. Um thank you so much for what you've done for our people over these last hours. I know you haven't slept, I know what that feels like. I know the efforts that you've put in and I know when you were out there, especially in the first part of it was incredibly dangerous uh to you, we have seen people come together from all over the state, all over the country. Federal partners like a T. F. We had the Coast Guard down in Mayfield and then we are seeing people come in from other states and other regions. I just want everybody to know that you are not alone today, Kentucky is absolutely united. We are united with our people. We are united to find and rescue as many as possible. We are united to grieve with I think over 100 families that will have lost individuals and we are united to be here for those families and this and every other impacted community not just today and this week, but in the coming years so that we rebuild and get those families back on their feet. The devastation is unlike anything I have seen in my life and and I have trouble putting it into words but it was safe to travel this morning. I flew to Mayfield. My first stop was that candle factory, 110 people working in it at the time. The storm hit rescue 40 There's at least 15 ft of metal with cars on top of it, barrels of corrosive chemicals that are there. It'll be a miracle if anybody else has found alive in it. A downtown completely devastated from there. Um, My dad's hometown of Dawson Springs Population 20 700. They're going to lose a whole lot of people. One block from my grandparents house, there's no house standing, there's no house standing and we don't know where all those people are. This was four different tornadoes and I'm told we're actually gonna see a little bit more on that that hit us including one that touched down in Arkansas and then stayed on the ground for 227 straight miles, which we believe is likely the longest in U. S. History folks. 200 of those miles. We're in Kentucky, We're ground zero and I know this community is hit has been hit really hard. We're with you, the whole state is with you. It's about just before midnight last night that we um signed, I signed a state of emergency that allowed us to call up the National Guard. Now, hundreds deploying all over Kentucky to help to help going door to door see if we can find people uh to help clearing the roadways and yes to help in law enforcement in some towns that are going to have any power. Uh tonight we've been able to get our transportation cabinet with all of our heavy trucks out on the roads clearing them off because it's hard to reach people in need. When the roads are unpassable. Our division of Forestry is out there helping with that as well. Finding any and everything we can do, including bringing some of the largest generators we've ever seen to some of these communities where they can power a school hospital, where it is needed. Uh Since our last stop, there are two new announcements at this point in the day. First, the president has signed the Federal emergency disaster declaration for those who do this work that rarely happens in the midst of a disaster. It shows how bad it is. It opens up us up to significantly more resources and things like almost immediate reimbursement for a lot of the things we're doing which is going to help our cities and our county's uh to to really do even more. I've talked today directly to the president twice the uh huh head of Homeland Security, the secretary and as well as the director of fema who is going to be in Kentucky tomorrow, they have all pledged whatever we need and I plan to ask so make sure you communicate those needs to us and we'll either satisfy them or we will go out and get them. It's getting close tonight. It's getting cold. It's gonna be a tough night for a lot of people across Kentucky. The second new announcement is people have been asking all day how can we help? And we've been telling them to things with the third coming. The first we said is if you are in a community that has been hit and hit hard and you're safe and you have powers stay off the roads. Let our first responders like the ones that we have here get to everybody don't go to some of these areas because you want to see it. We need to make sure that those who do this work that are so good at it can do it at the fastest possible speed. 2nd, Let's give blood. We're already pretty short with Covid out there and have been pushing. We're going to have, we have a lot of deaths were also going to have a lot of of injuries. But the third is, we have now been able to set up a single fund connected with the state that people who want to help in Kentucky or outside of it can give to that is solely dedicated to helping the on the ground efforts going on right now and the relief efforts that these families are going to need to rebuild that as a team Western Kentucky tornado relief fund. It is now live at team W Ky relief fund dot ky dot gov. I'll do it again. Team W ky relief fund dot ky dot gov. We've been, we've been hearing from folks again all around the country. I've heard from some folks outside the country that run great companies inside of Kentucky, they are mourning for this and other communities with that. We're gonna have a number of folks give us updates on where we are right now. I think we're first turning it over to the mayor to talk about specifically what we're seeing here. Um, let me say, I know, I know that lives lost are gonna be in double digits. They're going to be and multiple counties. I know Mulan bark. I know Hopkins um, here certainly graves, we believe in marshall. Um, it's tough but also your folks have done incredible work on top of it since the very beginning, and I'm really proud of the response here in Warren County.

President Joe Biden has signed a federal emergency disaster declaration for Kentucky in response to the deadly tornado outbreak, Gov. Andy Beshear announced during a news conference on Saturday. The president declared that an emergency exists in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and ordered federal assistance to recovery efforts following severe storms, straight-line winds, flooding and tornadoes since Friday. At least 70 people are feared dead in Kentucky after tornadoes and severe weather tore through multiple states and caused catastrophic damage. According to a news release from the White House, this action authorizes the Department of Homeland Security and Federal Emergency Management Agency to coordinate all disaster relief efforts which have the purpose of alleviating the hardship and suffering caused by the emergency on the local population, and providing appropriate assistance for required emergency measures, authorized under Title V of the Stafford Act, to save lives and to protect property and public health and safety, and to lessen or avert the threat of a catastrophe in the counties of Breckenridge, Bullitt, Caldwell, Fulton, Graves, Grayson, Hickman, Hopkins, Lyon, Meade, Muhlenberg, Ohio, Shelby, Spencer, and Warren.Officials said that FEMA is authorized to identify, mobilize, and provide, at its discretion, equipment and resources necessary to alleviate the impacts of the emergency. Emergency protective measures, including direct federal assistance, will be provided at 75% federal funding.

WLWT, FACEBOOK PAGE. ALL RIGHT BACK TO OUR CHIEF METEOROLOGIST KEVIN ROBINSON THE FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL FORECAST AND IT’S LOOKING A HECK OF A LOT BETTER THAN ITAS W AT THIS TIME LAST NIGHT. YEAH. IT REALLY IS, YOU KNOW, ALTHOUGH WE HAVEN’T SEEN MUCH OF THEUN S TODAY THINGS HAVE REALLY WORKED OUT IN OUR FAVOR IN THAT WAY WITHOUT THEE W WEREN’T ABLE TO GET UNSTABLE ENOUGH TO GET STORMS AND AS A RESULT, WE’RE KIND OF IN THAT PEAK WINDOW WHEN WE WERE MOST CONCERNED ABOUT THE POTENTIAL RISK FOR SEVERE WEATHER. SO THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT IT LOOKS LIKE WE’RE REAYLL DODGING A BULLET HERE WITH THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT. YOU CAN SEE THERE’S NOT A LOT HAPPENING AT THE MOMENT THE RAIN THAT WE’VE HAD OFF AND ONHE T GLOOMY SKIES WE’VE HAD OFTEN ON THROUGHOUT THE DAY BASICALLY ACTING LIKE A BLANKET ON THE ATMOSPHERE AND KEEPING EVERYTHING REALLY SETTLED DOWN AN D NOW ALLOWING ANY EXPLOSIVE THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT, SO THAT SAID THERE’S SOME HEAVY RAIN OUT HERE BETWEEN MAYSVILLE OVER TOWARDS WEST UNION SCOOTGIN ALONG THE OHIO RIVER BETWEEN MANCHESTER AND WRIGHTSVILLE, BUT THA’S G'ENERALLY ABOUT IT SOME OF THOSE SHOWERS TRAIL BACK TOWARDS THE MAIZELIT COMMUNITY AS FAR NORTH AS PEEBLES AND THEN ON UP THROUGH PARTS, ISLAND COUNTY SOME LIGHT RAIN SHOWERS OUT THERE AROUND THE METRO WE ARE CURRENTLY RAIN FREE AND THIS IS PART OF THAT DEVELOPING WINDOW. I THINK WE HEAV FOR SEVERAL HOURS TONIGHT BEFORE WE SEE ANY ADDITIONAL RAIN DEVELOP AROUND THE AREA. THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN OUR SEVERE WEATHER RIGHT HERE. IT STARTED TO GO UP WHERE THERE WERE SOME BREAKS IN THE CLOUDS IN INDIANA AND YOU HAD THE SUN OUT BUTNC OE THAT ACTIVITY MOVED, ARE LESS FAVORABLE ENVIRONMENT. IT’S COMPLETELY FIZZLED. AND BASICALLY THAT’S THE CASE WITH THE LITTLE SPRINKLES AND SHOWERS THAT WERE OUT THERE SO I DON’T SEE MUCH OF AN IMPACT TONIGHT TO HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL ACTION FROM LIGHTNING OR EVEN ANY SEVERE WEATHER COMPONENTS OUT THERE. NOW THAT SAID WE ARE NOT DONE WITH THE RAIN AND THEY’RE VERY WELL COULD BEOR ME THUNDER AND LIGHTNING LATER ON TONIGHT, BUT IT WON’T BE OFHE T SEVERE VARIETY. AND AGAIN, HERE’S THE KEY REASON WHY WE ARE NOT DEALING WITH SEVERE WEATHER AT THE MOMENT. JUST NOT UNSTABLE ENOUGH. THERE SO THAT’S WHYT I ALSO WE’VE BEEN DROPPED OUT OF THE SLIGHT RISK DOWN TO A MARGINAL RISK, AND YOU COULD ALMOST DROP IT EVEN LOWER THAN THAT AT THIS POINT. IT WOULD APPEAR SO I ACTLLUAY THINK WE’VE GOT SOME DECENT FOOTBALL WEATHER OUT THERE. I CAN’T SAY THERE WON’T BE ANY PASSING SHOWER OR DOWNPOUR, BUT I TNKHI FOR THE GAMES THEMSELVES AS LONG AS THEY WRAP UP BEFORE ABOUT NINE OR TEN O’CLOCK. I THINK YOU’VE GOT MOSTLY CLOUD WEATHER CONDITIONS NOW, AFTER 9 OR 10 RAIN CHANCES WILL GO UP AND THEY’RE STILL MAYBE. THUNDER DAN LIGHTNING TO BE HAD. SO HERE WE GO. MOVING FORWARD NOTICE AS WE GET TOWARDS THE NINE O’CLOCK HOUR 10 RAIN BEGINS TO REDEVELOP ACRSOS THE AREA AGAIN. I’M NOT GOING TO RULE OUT A LITTLE THUNDER AND LIGHTNING BUT AT THIS POINT IT DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE SEVERE. THIS WOULD BE GOOD SOAKING RANGE WHEIL WE SLEEP TONIGHT AND THEN BY THE TIME THE SUN IS UP TOMORROW MORNING BY 7. AM IF NOT SOONER THE RAIN SHOULD BE MOVING OUT OF HERE. IT MAY TAKE US AEW F HOURS TO GET SOME SUN BACK SATURDAY, BUT SATURDAY LOOKS NICE CLEAR. CHILLY SATURDAY NIGHT AND THEN WE’VE GOT A FANTASTIC SUNDAY COMING UP WITH LOTS OF SUNSHINE TO BE ENJOYED AROUND THE AREA. SO HERE’S A LIVE LOOK OUTSIDE RIGHT NOW, YOU KNOW IT’S TANGKI DAY, BUT WE’RE FINALLY STARTING TO SEE A FEW PEAKS AT THEUN S OUT THERE THIS AFTERNOON 70 OFFICIALLY HERE IN CINCINNATI. NOT A LOTF O RAIN AT THE AIRPORT. SOME FOLKS HAVE HAD A LITTLE MORE A LITTLE LESS DEPENDING ON YOUR LOCATION TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER 60S ARE RIGHT AROUND 70 DEGREES BECAUSE OF THE CLOUDS AND RAIN AND YOU KNOW WITH THAT IN MIND TEMPERATURES HDOL STEADY BEFORE MIDNIGHT, THEN WE’LL FALL BACK THROUGH THE 60S AND WE’LL WIND UP IN THE 50S BY MORNING. EVENTUALLY. WE’LL GET DOWN THE 52. SO LET’S SAY BETWEEN NOW AND ABTOU 9 OR 10 IT SHOULD BE RELATIVELY QUIET OUT THERE AFTER 10 O’CLOCK. I THINK RAIN CHANCES GO UP. AGAIN AREA WEID MAY HAVE A LITTLE THUNDER AND LIGHTNING THROWN IN WITH THAT 63 TOMORROW. THAT’S AT MIDNIGHT. THAT’S 63 WE’LL STRUGGLE TO GET BACK TO 60 TOMORROW AND WITH A CHILLY BREEZE DESPITE THE SUNSHINE. IT’LL BE A LITTLE BIT OF A SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM 45 FOR A LOW TOMORROW NIGHT DRESS WARMF I YOU’RE HEADING TO FC CINCINNATI SOCCER, AND THEN IT LOOKS LIKE WELL CHILLITA SRT TO THE WEEK AT LEAST TEMPERATURE.
