Surveillance footage released by the Crime Stoppers of Greater Atlanta shows a recent failed robbery attempt at a nail salon. Watch the video above to see the failed robbery attempt.The video shows the man entering the salon, demanding money and acting as though he had a gun under his bag. But then, no one complied and he eventually walked back outside. Atlanta police are still looking for the suspect, who did allegedly take someone's cell phone during the incident, but otherwise walked away empty-handed. No one was injured in the incident and police have since recovered the stolen phone.

Authorities in North Carolina say several members of a Texas family were arrested for allegedly robbing a Waffle House they had just eaten at.

According to the Hillsborough Police Department, Tamiko Lashun Jones and Tony Eugene Lemon, both of Marshall, Texas, and Diamond Walton, of Longview, Texas, were arrested in Western North Carolina on Wednesday.

Police said Jones, Lemon, and Walton were part of a family of six who entered the Waffle House and sat down to eat.

After the meal, police said Lemon allegedly took out a handgun and demanded money from the employees before he fled to a nearby gas station, where he had parked.

Officials said the suspects then left in two separate vehicles.

According to the department, they secured warrants Tuesday for the arrest of Jones, Lemon, and Walton.

They have each been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and defrauding an innkeeper, police said.

Officials said the suspects have similar outstanding charges from an incident in Minden, Louisiana, that occurred a few days prior to Monday's robbery.

Police said the suspects could face additional charges.

SPRINGDALE, Ohio —

Springdale police asked for the public's help Tuesday. They're seeking leads in a two-year-old homicide.

Josue Lopez-Ramirez was a Guatemalan immigrant who police said came to the United States with his family for a better life.

His life came to an end when he was just 18 years old.

"When you stand there and see a mother who just watched her son be taken from her, you never forget that," said Springdale police Chief Tom Wells.

Wells was at this scene that night. It was the day before Thanksgiving, 2019.

Lopez-Ramirez had just picked up his mother from work and had returned to their apartment on Chesterdale Road.

"They pulled in to their parking stall in front of their apartment building, and before they were even able to get out of the car, a suspect car pulled in behind them, kind of blocking them in," said Springdale police officer Keenan Riordan.

A group of men got out of the car. Police said they first attempted to rob Lopez-Ramirez's mother and then him.

"And one of the suspect's shot him. He was shot one time, however, multiple shots were fired," Riordan said.

The suspects took off. Police collected evidence and followed several leads, but nothing has led investigators to the suspects.

Tuesday, police urged the public to help them get answers.

"Maybe the suspects spoke about the accident. Maybe they acted suspiciously," Riordan said. "Maybe they'll talk about it at Thanksgiving dinner. Maybe they talked about it at Thanksgiving dinner two years ago, and I'm hoping that will jar a memory or something like that now that the holidays are upon us again."

The hope is to bring closure to a family who is still suffering.

"It is our interest to see justice for people who are victimized in this community, and it's also our experience, people talk about crimes. They just do," Wells said.

Police said they don't know why Lopez-Ramirez and his mother were targeted. They said it was possibly a crime of opportunity. Another theory is that they were followed home.

The only description police have of the suspects is what Lopez-Ramirez's mother gave them. She said it was a group of either three or four black men wearing dark clothes and in a dark-colored car.

MOUNT HEALTHY, Ohio —

A man is behind bars after an accused kidnapping and armed robbery.

Mt. Healthy Police said the suspect, 25 year old Trevor Stigall, violated a restraining order when he entered the home with a pick axe.

A 911 caller reported the incident to police on Hamilton Avenue Wednesday.

"The guy's got a restraining order against the other guy and he's got him in his house scared," the caller said. "He said he keeps coming back and he might be there right now."

Police confirmed the homeowner, David Leaman, does have a restraining order against Stigall.

They said Stigall violated the restraining order by first entering the home and allegedly stealing food.

Police said a short time later, he came back with the pick axe and forced Leaman to leave the trailer, "or else."

"He was threatening to cause physical harm to him if he didn't go get the money out of the ATM," Sgt. Alan Fath with Mt. Healthy Police said.

The two walked to a nearby UDF, where Leaman withdrew $20 and handed it to Stigall.

Officers eventually found the suspect and arrested him that night. He faced a judge Thursday and is charged with aggravated burglary, kidnaping, robbery and violating a protection order.

Police say Stigall is claiming he did nothing wrong.

"The suspect stated that he had been asked to come to the residence and he voluntarily was given that $20," Fath said.

Police are searching for a suspect in connection with an aggravated robbery in the Westwood area. Police describe the suspect as a Black male in his late teens with a slight build, wearing black, saggy skinny jeans, a white tank top, and a camo facial covering. The suspect was said to be driving a 2007-09 silver Mazda 3. The vehicle is described as having a loud exhaust, dark tinted windows, and low-profile tires with a spoiler on the trunk. When Chris Buckler arrived to open his store on Wednesday morning he immediately saw it: a giant, gaping hole in the roof, with the insulation hanging down. "My heart was racing. I couldn't believe it. I mean who expects to come into your business and see a hole to where somebody scaled-down and robbed you in the middle of the night?" Buckler said.The owner of Louisville Sports Cards initially thought the ceiling had collapsed during overnight storms and then he noticed the empty shelves. Dozens of high-dollar boxes of cards were taken in minutes from the Shelbyville Road store. It happened just before 5 a.m. Wednesday and went undetected for several hours.Buckler estimates the loss so far at $50,000."They knew exactly where the security cameras were, they knew exactly where the motion detectors were and they worked around them. Our alarm system was not tripped at all," Buckler said, adding he had since increased his security measures.Detectives, meanwhile, have spent hours poring over surveillance video from neighboring businesses, looking for someone or something that may seem out of the ordinary. They're also checking social media and seller's sites, and urging the public to call in tips."If you see something that looks out of the norm that's sports memorabilia, cards, anything like that please give us a call and we will check into it," Sgt. Pat Bass, with Middletown police, said.Buckler said he remains hopeful for an arrest, and despite such a devastating loss, he is determined to keep his doors open."I love sports, I love the community. I love this hobby and nothing's going to slow us down," he said.
