Mandy Moore is calling out a porch pirate. The singer and actor posted a photo from her home security camera footage on her Instagram story on Wednesday, showing a person who she alleges stole a package from her front door. Video above: Some tips for how to avoid package thefts"People are the worst," she wrote, going on to say that she had been "wondering" where the stroller she ordered for her 7-month-old son Ozzie went. She continued to write that she'd been speaking with the company's customer service, along with FedEx, "and I swore to them it wasn't delivered and then I found this," referring to the footage.The screen grab she shared showed a blurry image of a person standing in the trees and shrubs near her front gate with a large package within reach. Video below: Some tips, and some devices, that may help deter package theft"This dude watched for an hour while the box sat outside and then climbed a side of the hill to snag them," Moore added.The "This Is Us" star and her husband, Dawes frontman Taylor Goldsmith, were last known to live with their two sons in the Los Angeles area – a city known for frequent package theft incidents. A young girl was left without tap shoes for a Christmas recital after a woman stole a package from outside a Nebraska dance studio, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Department.In the surveillance video above, you can see a woman seemingly walking her dog outside of Kitty Lee Dance Studio on Dec. 12. It then appears she quickly takes a package and leaves. "We were shocked," said owner Diane Hansen. Hansen says they discovered the video after they couldn't find the delivery. "The package that was left on my mailbox from the mailman was shoes for a little girl who was supposed to be in our Christmas program this past week," said Hansen. Hansen says it's been hard with supply chain shortages to even get them, so there was no way for them to be replaced in time. "She was in tears. She didn't look like the rest of the kids in her show and she was very upset," said Hansen. It broke the little girl's heart and Hansen says it broke hers too. What's even more frustrating to her is how unfazed the suspected package thief looked. "I think that's what bothers me too. There was no conscience of taking something, I mean, she wasn't really even hesitant to take it," said Hansen. In a post on Facebook, the sheriff's department says it's looking for someone to help identify the woman in the video.And Hansen says she has something to say to that woman."Live up to it. Bring it back, apologize. Do the right thing. That's what I would love her to do," said Hansen.
