<p>In 2022, most American cities are still separated along racial lines. </p>
<p>“We don’t have a lot of diversity in Milwaukee, so to speak. It’s a good place to live, but if you are a Black man or woman, it has its challenges,” said Shiquita Mann.</p>
<p>Mann is the product of policies that have embedded her city with segregation. </p>
<p>“Even when you go into certain stores, people are looking at you as if you do not belong,” Mann said.</p>
<p>She is also the product of a meaningful effort to change segregation. </p>
<p>Six miles from Mann’s basement is the Milwaukee night market.  It's where she sells candles and builds her business.</p>
<p>In most American cities, barriers, both physical and political, separate racial and ethnic communities. In Milwaukee, North Holton Street is the literal dividing line between the mostly-Black neighborhoods to the west and the mostly-white neighborhoods to the east. </p>
<p>“You drive through white Milwaukee. The streets are clear. There’s no trash. The neighborhoods are great. The houses, you don’t see any houses that is owned by the city. As soon as you hit into the Black areas, you see abandoned houses. You see there’s trash everywhere. We literally can drive from one block and then go to the next block, and you can tell the difference. That’s how real it is,” Mann said.</p>
<p>By most metrics, Milwaukee is the extreme. A Berkeley study ranked it America’s fifth most segregated city. For decades, all but two of its suburbs had housing covenants that prohibited Black families from living in residential areas. But it’s part of a country in which two-thirds of white Americans say they have zero non-white friends, and nearly half of Black Americans say they have zero non-Black friends. </p>
<p>Angela Damiani said she helped launch the night market in 2014 in an effort to bring more people together.</p>
<p>“There are emotional barriers too, where people don’t feel like they belong, like they’re allowed to go to places, and the market has been like this access point for people to see each other, to be, like, human together,” Damiani said.</p>
<p> In 2021, the market began reserving 10 spots for vendors of color. They sell art, food, and items of all sorts to a crowd of all backgrounds.</p>
<p>“We are in some of these spaces where I couldn’t even imagine there will be," Mann said. "For example, the night market. I couldn’t see myself here, but here I am. I’m learning now to embrace. If I’m in a space where I don’t see me, this is my time to shine.” </p>

Nearly 600 volunteers worked through the weekend to complete home repairs at 23 homes in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was part of Revitalize Milwaukee's annual Block Build MKE event. The organization provided $300,000 worth of renovations with donated time, money and supplies."We have porches, we have bathrooms, we have kitchens all being taken apart and put back together today," said Lynnea Katz-Petted, CEO of Revitalize Milwaukee. For many, the upgrades are a welcomed breath of fresh air. But for one, the transformations are life-changing."I basically was a house dweller; I didn't come outside much," said Shannon Jackson.Jackson has partial disabilities, which require him to use a mobility scooter. His home did not have a ramp, leaving him unable to leave his own house without help. That all changed Saturday when volunteers from Revitalize Milwaukee and Berghammer Construction built Jackson a ramp."It gives me accessibility to the outside world, which I really haven't had lately," Jackson told 12 News. "It is exciting to be able to move around and not have to rely on other people's help just to get in and out ... now I'm able to enter and exit at-will." The project was special for Matt Iwanski of Berghammer Construction."It's a very good giving, it's a good thing to do, it's the right thing to do," he said. "We should probably do more of it in our community."Watch the video above for the full story.

<p>MILWAUKEE, Wis. — A Rhode Island man vacationing in Wisconsin has died after he fell more than 70 feet while attempting to walk across a rising drawbridge in Milwaukee.</p>
<p>According to a Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office report, 77-year-old Richard Dujardin of Providence, Rhode Island, was walking across the Kilbourn Avenue Bridge with his wife Monday afternoon when it began to rise, NBC affiliate TMJ4 reported.</p>
<p>The report said his wife, Rose-Marie Dujardin, made it across the bridge. However, Richard Dujardin, who was looking at an iPad while walking, was still in the middle when it began rising, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.</p>
<p>"The lights, bells, and arms came down at each end of the bridge," the report said according to the news outlets. "However, Richard was hard of hearing, and it is thought that he didn't notice them."</p>
<p>The report states that the 77-year-old tried to catch up to his wife, but couldn't, so he grabbed onto the side railing but lost his grip and fell 71 feet to the pavement below, the news outlets reported.</p>
<p>According to the report, the news outlets reported that Richard Dujardin suffered head trauma and died from his injuries at the scene.</p>
<p>The bridge is controlled by the city's Department of Public Works, the Associated Press reported.</p>
<p>In a statement to the news outlets, Interim Commissioner of Public Works Jerrel Kruschke said the operator was "fully trained," and is in his fourth year as a bridge operator and had opened bridges hundreds of times.</p>
<p>Kruschke added that the bridge operator was on leave and that he "was connected with the City’s Employee Assistance Program for counseling," the newspaper reported.</p>
<p>Milwaukee Police said in a statement that there is no suspicion of a criminal act, but the investigation was ongoing, the Associated Press reported.</p>
<p>Rose-Marie Dujardin told TMJ4 that her husband of 54 years was a reporter at the Providence Journal.</p>

<p>MILWAUKEE, Wisc. — The Milwaukee Dancing Grannies will perform at the same Wisconsin parade where they tragically lost four members when a driver plowed through the Waukesha parade last year.</p>
<p>Their first holiday parade of the season begins in Racine, where they are set to perform on Saturday.</p>
<p>In a <a class="Link" href="https://www.facebook.com/Milwaukeedancingrannies/videos/1556004078184505/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">video shared on Facebook</a> Thursday, you can see the grannies smiling and shaking their pom poms as they get into the holiday spirit!</p>
<p>Racine's annual <a class="Link" href="https://racinedowntown.com/holidayparade/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Downtown Racine Holiday Parade</a> will kick off at 5:30 p.m. </p>
<p>The news of the ladies performing again during the winter holiday season comes a year after six people were killed during the Waukesha Christmas Parade when an SUV driven by Darrell Brooks struck them.</p>
<p>The Grannies lost members Ginny Sorenson, Leanna Owen and Tamara Durand, and the husband of another Granny, Bill Hospel. </p>

<p>An 8-year-old boy and a 52-year-old woman were also killed, the Associated Press reported.</p>
<p>In October, a jury convicted Brooks of all 76 counts against him. On Thursday, he was sentenced to life in prison.</p>
<p>Despite their pain, the Grannies proceed to dazzle crowds by continuing to dance. The grannies performed for the first time since the tragedy in this year's St. Patrick's Day Parade in Milwaukee. </p>
<p>Just last week, the grannies performed at St. Luke's Medical Center as a thank you to the medical team that saved one of the grannies injured in the attack. 62-year-old Betty Streng suffered a skull fracture and brain bleed. </p>
<p>An emergency brain surgery saved her life just hours after the attack. Hospital staff cheered the group on as they passed by. </p>

Two banded, baby peregrine falcons were rescued Wednesday from Downtown Milwaukee after people downtown saw the birds and called the Wisconsin Humane Society. The falcons were found outside the U.S. Bank building in Downtown Milwaukee. Joyce Konkel, a volunteer with the organization's rehabilitation center, showed up Wednesday morning to capture the birds and bring them to safety. Konkel said the birds likely glided down from the roof of the building where a nest is set up with the Peregrine Falcon Recovery Program. The program helps to re-populate peregrine falcons, an endangered and threatened species in Wisconsin. Since the fledglings are only a few months old, Konkel said they don't have the strength yet to fly back up to the top of the building and reunite with their family.Konkel brought the falcons to the Humane Society for a thorough examination. She said once the birds are deemed healthy, they will be released back into the wild.

Friday evening, Milwaukee police said someone shot and killed a United States Postal Service carrier while he was delivering mail. The United States Postal Inspection Service identified the victim as Aundre Cross. Police said he was in his 40s.For over 18 years, Cross delivered the mail and smiles. "Aundre came to work every day with a smile on his face. If you was sad, he was going to make sure gonna get a smile. He's going to make you laugh every day," said Melissa Carter, a friend and coworker to Cross.Video shared with sister station WISN 12 News by Elaxex Trammel, a resident on his route, showed him laughing and smiling while delivering her mail just hours before he was killed. "If you had a bad morning, he could come in loud, joyful, change your whole mood. Forget what you were even upset about," said Cross' friend and coworker, Jyfena Brown, "He was a good person. Had three beautiful kids, a wife. Imagine how they feel, two weeks before Christmas."Surveillance video obtained by sister stationWISN 12 News captured the gunfire and a subject running to a car. The car appears to resemble the same car on the U.S. Postal Inspection Service's wanted poster. The wanted poster says the suspect vehicle is a silver Audi Q5 SUV with tinted windows."Being a carrier in Milwaukee is very scary now. And you are alone on the route. It's just literally you and the mail," Brown said. The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect(s) involved in the homicide.Postal workers gathered Saturday evening, where Cross spent the last moments of his life, to mourn the loss of one of their own. "It's sad to see someone good like him. It just hurts because he didn't deserve this at all," Brown said.Milwaukee police ask anyone with information to contact them at 414-935-7272 or to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 414-224-Tips or P3 Tips App.Watch the video above for the full story.

THEY WILL GIVE THEM A THOROUGH EXAMINATION TO SEE IF THEIR DEHYDRATED, IF THEY NEED FOOD, THEY CAN TELL, SO THEY’LL BE ABLE TO REUNITE THEM WITH THEIR FAMILY PRETTY SOON. THAT’S WHAT THEY WOULD. THAT’S OUR GOAL IN ALL WILDLIFE TO GET THEM BACK TO THE WILD AGAIN IN MILWAUKEE

Two banded, baby peregrine falcons were rescued Wednesday after people in downtown Milwaukee saw the birds and called the Wisconsin Humane Society. The falcons were found outside the U.S. Bank building. Joyce Konkel, a volunteer with the organization's rehabilitation center, showed up Wednesday morning to capture the birds and bring them to safety. Konkel said the birds likely glided down from the roof of the building where a nest is set up with the Peregrine Falcon Recovery Program. Video below: Peregrine falcons nesting at cathedral become livestream sweethearts as thousands tune inThe program helps to re-populate peregrine falcons, an endangered and threatened species in the state. Since the fledglings are only a few months old, Konkel said they don't have the strength yet to fly back up to the top of the building and reunite with their family. Konkel brought the falcons to the Humane Society for a thorough examination. She said once the birds are deemed healthy, they will be released back into the wild.

Burglars may have gotten more than they bargained for when they targeted a home in Wisconsin last week. The two men snatched thousands of dollars worth of tools from the house in Milwaukee. They apparently also unwittingly grabbed a security camera that continued to transmit from their kitchen table. The security camera captured the moment two thieves early last Monday stole that camera along with tools from a home being rehabbed. The real estate broker saw the whole thing."Somebody picked up the camera and said what is this? And then they bagged it, not knowing that it's still active," said Realtor Erica Winship, of Premier Point Realty. Because the house was vacant, after the burglars kicked the front door open here they spent some time inside. But it's what happened later that could lead to their arrest. "They took around $8,000 in tools. They also took a camera, which was hidden, which they did not know would operate pretty much anywhere, so it's operating on their dining table right now. We can see everything," Winship said. She shared a video recorded Monday, a week after the burglary, still in the home of the burglar. "We're seeing people doing drugs. We're seeing people talk about how they sold the stuff, where the money went," she added. Winship said she can only assume they don't realize the camera is still transmitting."They may or may not, but I don't think they really care. It's really disheartening when someone works hard to rev up a house to make sure it's occupiable and lovely for someone to live and someone just comes through and destroys that," Winship said. The battery-operated camera uses the cellular network, and as of Monday night, was still transmitting nearly eight days after it was stolen. Milwaukee police told sister station WISN they're continuing to investigate but have made no arrests.

Inflation is at its highest point in decades, but there may be some hard-to-spot price hikes in the supermarket aisles, disguised from consumers by creative packaging. Consumer advocate Edgar Dworsky said "shrinkflation," another term for product downsizing or manufacturers putting less product in a package for the same price, is more common during times of inflation."It really does come in waves and, unfortunately, we are in the middle of a big wave right now," said Dworsky, founder of ConsumerWorld.org."Prices are going up, and I think companies want to do the most to make sure it looks like they're not the ones raising their prices," Milwaukee shopper Sam Krieg observed.Dworsky highlighted examples of shrinkflation. "We always used to buy half-a-gallon of orange juice. Then it went down to 59 ounces. Then it went down to 52 ounces," he said.Consumers are likely to find fewer sheets in a roll of paper towels, less pet food in a can or maybe an ounce less of cereal in a box."That little 1-ounce multiplied by tens of millions is big bucks in their pocket, and out of your pocket," Dworsky said.He said other manufacturers may change the shape of their package. "There's now an indent on the bottom of the Skippy jar that's, in essence, dead space. Gatorade came in 32-ounce bottles. They're now 28 ounces. Look for the one that kind of has a waistline on it. That's the one that's 4 ounces shorter," Dworsky said.Sister station WISN found an example of downsizing on a Milwaukee store's shelf. The older package for a tube of Crest 3D White toothpaste showed it contained 4.1 ounces, while the newer package listed 3.8 ounces. Selling for the same price, the newer tube contained 7% less toothpaste.Crest's parent company, Procter &amp; Gamble sent a statement to WISN 12 saying in part, "P&amp;G takes a holistic view of pricing by product category... Our focus is on delivering superior products with the best performance, ultimately delivering value to our consumers."The best advice for shoppers may be to check the price per ounce or per unit, which is often posted in smaller print on the store shelf. But even that may be hard to find because not all states require stores to post a unit price. Nineteen states require some form of unit pricing, WISN reports.Dworsky said consumers who don't routinely check unit prices may not be aware when a product has been downsized."Manufacturers are counting on consumers not noticing," he said. But is it an attempt to deceive consumers?"It certainly is a bit of package trickery, to say the least. Does it cross the line to be illegal? No," Dworsky said. It's just a cleverly disguised hit to your household budget.

<p>A police officer in Wisconsin went above and beyond the call of duty to help out a fellow citizen, just doing his job.</p>
<p>In a video that has recently gained some traction online, a Milwaukee, Wisconsin police officer is seen in security camera footage walking up to the door of a home in the city last week on Feb. 10. Walking next to him is a man holding a takeout food order, looking at his phone.</p>
<p>Just before they arrived the man's car had broken down while he was working, delivering food, according to a post by ViralHog. </p>
<p>The Wisconsin police officer drove the man to the customer's home so that he could complete his order, and not have any trouble with his employer.</p>
<p>In the video, you hear the delivery driver ask the deputy his name, and the two shake hands as if the incident had only started moments before.</p>
<p>As they wait, after the doorbell rang, the driver indicates that the customer would have been alerted that the food had arrived. Then the door opens and the officer tells the customer, "you got a special food delivery, his car broke down." </p>
<p>The officer said, "we're here to make your food order on time," as both smiled at the customer understanding her initial confusion.</p>
<p>The customer reacts saying that she thought to herself, "Oh, my god there is a police officer at the door."</p>
<p><iframe title="Officer Helps Make Food Delivery Happen || ViralHog" width="1220" height="686" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/KKPURqVi740?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>The officer says, "He didn't want to be late for his food delivery." He said of the delivery driver, "His car died on Oklahoma on the freeway," referring to the avenue named after the state, in Milwaukee. </p>

<p>MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee Police Officer Herbert Davis III, who was <a class="Link" href="https://www.tmj4.com/news/local-news/sources-milwaukee-police-officer-shot-near-21st-and-st-paul" target="_blank" rel="noopener">shot multiple times</a> on Jan. 27 while responding to a welfare check and is a huge Cincinnati Bengals fan, has been surprised with Super Bowl tickets.</p>
<p>WTMJ-AM and Good Karma Brands surprised the officer on live radio. They bought him two Super Bowl tickets, two plane tickets, a hotel room, and are giving him a couple thousand dollars in spending money to use while at the game. Originally, a <a class="Link" href="https://www.gofundme.com/f/officer-lewis-davis-injured-in-the-line-of-duty" target="_blank" rel="noopener">GoFundMe</a> was set up to get Officer Davis to the Super Bowl. But then WTMJ-AM stepped in to get him to Los Angeles.</p>
<p>Station Vice President Steve Wexler made the announcement live on the air. </p>
<p>“It's just a token of our appreciation for your service, your commitment, and your inspiration that you've brought to all of us," said Wexler. </p>
<p>Davis remained speechless for a few moments, thanking the station and staff for the trip.</p>
<p>Davis said he plans to take his dad to the game. That is where he got his love for the team. </p>
<p>“My dad is my best friend. As much as I am happy and excited for this, this would mean the world to him,” said Davis.</p>
<p>Right after Officer Davis heard the good news he said that he wants to give recognition to the other officers who were also shot in the line of duty in the past few weeks: <a class="Link" href="https://www.tmj4.com/news/local-news/milwaukee-county-deputy-who-was-shot-multiple-times-released-from-hospital" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Deputy Christian Almonte</a> and <a class="Link" href="https://www.tmj4.com/news/local-news/fundraiser-for-mpd-officer-shot-while-stopping-third-ward-carjacking" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Milwaukee Police Detective Andrew Wilkiewicz</a>. Now, Officer Davis wants to use the money from his GoFundMe to get Almonte and Wilkiewicz to the Super Bowl as well.</p>
<p>“Whatever money that we got donations from, anything that we were able to do, I wanted to share that with them. Football fans or not, if they wanna come I wanted to be able to get them there. If they are not football fans, I would love the opportunity to donate to a cause they would want," Davis said. </p>
<p>The Super Bowl between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams will take place on Feb.13 in Los Angeles at SoFi Stadium.</p>
<p>On Jan. 30, Officer Davis went <a class="Link" href="https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=649324866264726" target="_blank" rel="noopener">viral</a> as video showed him reacting emotionally to the news that Cincinnati was going to the Super Bowl.</p>
<p>While the news of him going to the Super Bowl and beginning the recovery process is great, it was all born out of tragedy.</p>
<p>The shooting happened around 5:53 p.m near 2101 W. St. Paul Ave on Jan. 27. Officer Davis was responding to a welfare check of a slumped over who turned out to be 22-year-old Jetrin Rodthong.</p>
<p>When Rodthong exited the car, he tried to run away. A brief struggle ensued. The officer moved away from Rodthong but Rodthong walked up to him and shot Officer Davis. Then Rodthong ran to the officer's squad car, got in, and drove off, prosecutors say.</p>
<p>Rodthong drove to the area of Clybourn Street and 17th Street when he crashed into another vehicle. Rodthong fled that scene on foot. That's when he was arrested by responding officers. According to the complaint he had multiple gunshot wounds.</p>
<p>Police found several items in his pocket which tested positive for opiates, methamphetamine, and fentanyl. According to the complaint, Rodthong then admitted to using meth and heroin before his altercation with the officer.</p>
<p>He also admitted to having a pink 9mm in his waist prior to the exchange.</p>
<p>Rodthong went on to tell police he got out of the car when asked because he did not want to go to jail again. But, when the officer was going to put his hands behind his back, all Rodthong could think about was getting away.</p>
<p>When asked what happened next, Rodthong just repeated that he wanted to get away, according to the complaint.</p>
<p>Rodthong's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 9. A cash bond has been set for $1 million. He has been charged with first-degree intentional homicide and use of a dangerous weapon.</p>

Six people were found dead in a Milwaukee home in what police are investigating as multiple homicides, authorities said.Milwaukee police responded about 3:45 p.m. Sunday to assist with a welfare check at the residence where four men and one woman were found dead, Milwaukee Assistant Police Chief Paul Formolo said during a Sunday evening news conference. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office tweeted early Monday that the body of an additional person, a man, was recovered from the home. The identities of the dead were pending. Autopsies were scheduled for Monday.A motive and information about any suspects was not immediately known, Formolo said. Police have not said what caused the deaths, but Formolo said there is no information to suggest that there is a threat to the community. It's not clear how long the victims had been dead when their bodies were found. It's also not clear how old the victims were or how they may have died. Police have not made any arrests or said how the victims were related. No suspect information was released. So far, a weapon has not been recovered."The murders discovered today on a residential block in the heart of our city are horrific," Acting Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson said in a statement. "First, I offer my condolences to the families and friends of the victims. Whatever the circumstances, we must share the grief of those who have lost loved ones."It is important not to feel numbed by the ongoing violence in our community. A horrible crime has again occurred, and it is not a movie or a fictional account. These victims died in our city, in one of our neighborhoods."We remain steadfast in our efforts to reduce violence. We will achieve that through strengthened and improved law enforcement, through community intervention, and through a renewed commitment to prevention. Again, we can never accept murderous violence as routine, and we must together recommit ourselves to our shared responsibility to find solutions and make our city safer."

It looked like a geyser went off Thursday morning near 48th and Congress streets in Milwaukee. As water spewed into the air, crews rush to turn off the water and start cleaning up."I looked out the window, and it was just water shooting across the street," said a witness who did not wish to be identified.A towering column of water rained down on homes in this Lincoln Creek neighborhood Thursday morning.News Chopper 12 out of Milwaukee captured the spectacle that neighbors witnessed from their doorstep."The water was shooting up, oh my God, as tall as the trees. And it was freezing," Becky Redmond-Walker said.Water Works officials said the combination of cold temperatures and age likely caused the 1930s-era water main to burst, sending some area residents scrambling."We hurried up and ran to move our cars. The water came up to my ankles," a witness said.Water Works monitors detected the break when there was a sudden drop in pressure in the part of the city.City crews raced to shut off the water, impacting service to several homes and leaving behind an icy mess. The sidewalks, the streets of the neighborhood now covered in ice."And the next thing you know, it built a mountain on the island full of ice from the water coming out and freezing. And the street, I couldn't tell where the street began and the island end," Redmond-Walker said. Some drivers ignored the warning cones and rolled through the ice and flood-covered streets.Department of Public Works crews brought in heavy equipment to start scooping and clearing the ice and salt trucks to treat the streets.Neighbors said their homes and cars are ice-covered but not damaged. But the sight of the water column is something they won't soon forget."And it was so amazing to see something like that. I felt like I was in Niagara Falls," Redmond-Walker said. Some homes were still without water service at 5 p.m.City crews were still at the scene, and a Water Works spokesman said repairs to the busted main were expected to take several hours.

When you think of Mexican food, perhaps, tacos and burritos come to mind. But there's a specific type of dish that is such a delicacy and it comes from Michoacán, Mexico. In Milwaukee, you'll find murals, parks and carnitas Don Lucho. It's been around for 10 years."Everything is fresh here we're all like family, even the workers," the manager said."I brought this from Mexico. They showed me when I was about 10 years old," owner Jose Luis Mejia said. Mejia goes by the name "Don Lucho."He's from Michoacán. "It's the state most recognized for carnitas," Meija said.He created a special recipe for tasty carnitas or pork tacos."There are different seasonings but you have to make sure it's authentic," Meija said. "The flame has to be just right, then you stir and keep adding meat."The process is long. The meat cooks for about 2 hours. Then it's chopped and ready to serve."It's like an art," Meija said.Customers have options, too: Carnitas or cuero — the skin. Meija said in Mexico it was too difficult to start a business so he came to the United States, received immigration amnesty and opened his shop."The flavor that we give us authentic, the flavor. It's really doing something unique," the manager said.On any given weekend, Meija said he sells about 2,600 pounds of carnitas."I am very humble, but it makes me happy when I see a crowd of people gathered at my restaurant," he said.Meija said his customers are not only from Milwaukee but surrounding areas as well.Watch the video above for the full story.

Watch the video above for more on this story.Police arrested four teenagers Thursday after police said they stole a car and led them on a chase. The high-speed chase went onto the lawn at Glen Hills Middle School in Glendale, Wisconsin, during dismissal. “When he just comes across the lawn that was the scariest part of it," said Pastor Kasandra Williams, the grandparent of a 4th grader at the school. “We were just kind of thanking God that you know none of the other kids got hurt.”According to a district-wide voicemail from the Glendale River Hills School District Superintendent Alyson Eisch, gym teachers moved students to a safe area and administrators stopped dismissal. She said they continued dismissal once police verified the situation was safe.Glendale police told sister station WISN that the driver was a 13-year-old boy, and the passengers were a 13-year-old boy, a 14-year-old girl, and a 16-year-old girl. All four suspects live in Milwaukee.Police did not say where the teens allegedly stole the car from in Milwaukee."It’s shocking," said Jordan Wanner, a parent to three kids at the school. "It seems to be the trend now, where kids are doing this kind of thing, putting everybody’s life at risk, putting their own lives at risk. Yeah, it has to stop.” Similar incidents unfolded at Milwaukee Marshall High School this summer.“I think if we can get back to parenting, you wouldn’t have situations like this whether it’s in Glendale, Menomonee Falls or Milwaukee, because it’s happening all around," Williams said. “It’s children who aren’t parented right. Period.” No one was injured in this incident.

Giannis Antetokounmpo ended one of the greatest NBA Finals ever with 50 points and a championship Milwaukee waited 50 years to win again.Antetokounmpo had 50 points, 14 rebounds and five blocked shots as the Bucks beat the Phoenix Suns 105-98 on Tuesday night to win the series 4-2.It was the third game this series with at least 40 points and 10 rebounds for Antetokounmpo, a dominant, debut finals performance that takes its place among some of the game's greatest. He shot 16 for 25 from the field and made an unbelievable 17-of-19 free throws — a spectacular performance for any shooter, let alone one who was hitting just 55.6% in the postseason and was ridiculed for it at times. He hopped around the court waving his arms with 20 seconds remaining to encourage fans to cheer, but it was way too late for that.Their voices had been booming inside and outside for hours by then, having waited 50 years to celebrate a winner after Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Oscar Robertson led the Bucks to the championship in 1971. In a season played largely without fans, the Bucks had 65,000 of them packed into the Deer District outside, a wild party that figured to last deep into the Midwestern night. Confetti rained down inside as fans chanted "Bucks in 6! Bucks in 6!" — which began as a hopeful boast by a former player turning out to be a prophetic rallying cry.The Bucks became the fifth team to win the NBA Finals after trailing 2-0 and the first to do it by winning the next four games since Miami against Dallas in 2006.Chris Paul scored 26 points to end his first NBA Finals appearance in his 16th season. Devin Booker added 19 points but shot just 8 for 22 and missed all seven 3-pointers after scoring 40 points in each of the last two games. The teams that came into the NBA together as expansion clubs in 1968 delivered a fine finals, with the last three games all in the balance deep into the fourth quarter. The Bucks won them largely because of Antetokounmpo, a two-time MVP in the regular season who raised his game even higher in the finals and was voted the NBA Finals MVP.The Larry O'Brien trophy was presented to the Bucks by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver. This story will be updated shortly.

There's a new baby camel at the Milwaukee County Zoo.The male Bactrian camel was born Tuesday morning to parents Stan and Addie-Jean (better known as A.J.).Zoo staff said the calf was doing well and appears to be very strong. He was up and moving shortly after his birth. Zoo staff said he was observed nursing from mom throughout the day. A.J. is 9 years old and Stan is 8 years old. This is A.J. and Stan's third offspring. They have two other sons: Jethro, who was born in 2019, and George, born in 2017. Jethro and George have since transferred to other zoos.Zoo staff said the new calf underwent a neonatal exam Wednesday and he weighed in at 94 pounds. It was considered a good, healthy weight for a newborn camel. And it marked A.J.'s largest calf in weight. If the calf, who will be named soon, continues to do well, and progress as he should, zoo staff said visitors can see him in the outdoor Camel Yard, with mom and grandmother. Bactrian camels can be distinguished from other species of camels by their two humps — other species only have one. They have several adaptations that allow them to survive in these harsh conditions. For example, their humps allow them to travel long distances without food or water. It is a common misconception that the humps store water; however, they actually store fat, which can be used as energy when nutrients aren't available. Wild Bactrian camels are listed as critically endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. Their population is expected to decrease by 80% in the next three generations because of hunting and predation.Photos, video and info provided by the Milwaukee County Zoo.

<p>For decades, 96-year-old Julius Campbell has helped Milwaukee students cross the street — and he says he still has a few good years left in him.</p>
<p>Campbell is a World War II veteran and a retired Milwaukee Public Schools teacher. He’s seen a lot in his time but says that helping students cross the street to Yeshiva Elementary is a <a class="Link" href="https://www.wisn.com/article/96-year-old-milwaukee-crossing-guard-hopes-to-make-it-to-100/36367081" target="_blank" rel="noopener">rewarding experience</a>.</p>
<p>"I just love education and being around and doing things for people, helping people,” he said.</p>
<p>Campbell has served as a crossing guard for 24 years, meaning he’s helped an entire generation of Milwaukee students cross the street safely.</p>
<p>“A lot of the kids graduate, come back and I'm getting their kids going now," Campbell said.</p>
<p>He says it took a lifetime of preparation to remain active at his age.</p>
<p>“I never lived a rough or fast life,” Campbell said. “(I) never drank, and all those things — run around late at night. So that makes a difference.”</p>
<p>Though he’s been at it for years— waking up at 4 a.m. on school days to be at 51st and Roosevelt by 6:30 — he’s hoping to keep at it for at least a few more.</p>
<p>“I want to make it to 100,” Campbell said. “But as long as my health is good, I'll stick with it.</p>
