Friday evening, Milwaukee police said someone shot and killed a United States Postal Service carrier while he was delivering mail. The United States Postal Inspection Service identified the victim as Aundre Cross. Police said he was in his 40s.For over 18 years, Cross delivered the mail and smiles. "Aundre came to work every day with a smile on his face. If you was sad, he was going to make sure gonna get a smile. He's going to make you laugh every day," said Melissa Carter, a friend and coworker to Cross.Video shared with sister station WISN 12 News by Elaxex Trammel, a resident on his route, showed him laughing and smiling while delivering her mail just hours before he was killed. "If you had a bad morning, he could come in loud, joyful, change your whole mood. Forget what you were even upset about," said Cross' friend and coworker, Jyfena Brown, "He was a good person. Had three beautiful kids, a wife. Imagine how they feel, two weeks before Christmas."Surveillance video obtained by sister stationWISN 12 News captured the gunfire and a subject running to a car. The car appears to resemble the same car on the U.S. Postal Inspection Service's wanted poster. The wanted poster says the suspect vehicle is a silver Audi Q5 SUV with tinted windows."Being a carrier in Milwaukee is very scary now. And you are alone on the route. It's just literally you and the mail," Brown said.The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect(s) involved in the homicide.Postal workers gathered Saturday evening, where Cross spent the last moments of his life, to mourn the loss of one of their own. "It's sad to see someone good like him. Milwaukee police Officer Herbert Davis was shot by a suspect Thursday night. Now, his family has started fundraising to send him to Super Bowl LVI in Los Angeles.It's no secret he's a big Cincinnati Bengals fan.Davis, 26, wore his gear when he was released from the hospital Friday.His family shared video with WISN 12 showing Davis watch the end of the Bengals-Chiefs game Sunday night.We all know the Bengals kicked a last-minute field goal to give them the victory and send them to the Super Bowl for the first time since 1989.Davis got emotional watching the kick and score. His family started a GoFundMe page to help raise the money needed.Their goal is $25,000."Physically, he will heal," his sister wrote on the page. "Our family knows the healing process doesn't end with physical capabilities. He has a long haul ahead. He started as a police aide at 19 years old and has 7 years of service. Herb is a hero. He will forever hold that title."The page said Davis' fiancee is also part of the MPD family.Funds raised will also help with family travel and medical expenses."Go Bengals!!! Thank you for all the love and support he's been given," Davis' sister wrote.Super Bowl LVI is Feb. 13. The Bengals will play the San Francisco 49ers.The suspect charged with shooting Davis remains in the Milwaukee County Jail on $1 million cash bail.

Police in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, said they had made several arrests in connection with Mallery M. Muenzenberger's death but have not released any other information.She was found dead last Thursday in a yard in the city of Milwaukee. Muenzenberger's son, 3-year-old Major Harris, was missing in the days following the murder. On Thursday, though, the 3-year-old's body was found following the release of an Amber Alert. The boy's father told WISN 12 News on Saturday that the medical examiner did not notify him that his son's body had been released to a funeral home in La Crosse, Wisconsin.And so, Carlton Harris said he stepped in and took custody of Major Harris' body, and the child will be buried in Madison, instead of with his mother in La Crosse."So being that that was done, I wish the Muenzenberger family ... All my condolences go out to those people because I did love their daughter. But they can worry about burying their daughter, and I'll worry about burying my son," said Carlton Harris, the father.The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed that Major Harris' body was transported to a Madison funeral home.Harris said he will announce details when funeral arrangements are finalized.Acting Milwaukee police Chief Jeffrey Norman heard concerns from city residents on Saturday as violence seems to increase in the area. "What happened the other day in regards to our search for Major Harris. Unheard of the Milwaukee Police Department ever collaborated with our community in regards to asking for our community's help and being a part of a partnership in working to deal with an urgent and serious issue and concern. I truly believe in community engagement. That is at my core. I know we have a lot of work to do," Norman said.

Milwaukee Police said a man was shot and killed on Christmas Eve, just after 10:00 p.m., while he was trying to prevent a domestic violence situation. Police said they have not arrested the shooter. Police said the victim was a 48-year-old man. Police and neighbors told sister station WISN there had been a domestic dispute earlier on Christmas Eve in an apartment building in Riverwest. The victim was reportedly inside the suspected shooter's girlfriend's apartment upstairs, trying to protect her, when the suspect walked in and shot him. Police said the man died on the scene. Milwaukee Police said the case is still under investigation. According to the Milwaukee Health Department Office of Violence Prevention, this Christmas Eve incident marks 189 homicides in Milwaukee in 2020. This time last year, there were 96 homicides. Their data, which has tracked domestic violence through July of 2020, also shows domestic violence cases spike significantly during the holidays. Reggie Moore, director of the Office of Violence Prevention, said the pandemic, and stress that has gone along with it, has led to a large increase in domestic violence cases in 2020.
