WE COULD SEE A FEW SHOWERS ON THE TIMELINE FOR WHEN THAT CAN MOVE IN COMING UP. LACEY: HAPPENING NOW, A SEVEN ALARM FIRE, SENDING SMOKE BILLOWING OVER CINCINNATI ALL DAY SATURDAY. TWO BUILDINGS LIGHTING UP IN FLAMES IN CAMP WASHINGTON AS FIREFIGHTERS SPENT HOURS TRYING TO PUT THE FIRE OUT AT THE VACANT BUILDING. WLWT NEWS 5’S RACHEL HIRSCHHEIMER SHOWS US HOW CREWS WORKING THROUGH THE NIGHT TO CLEAN UP. REPORTER: THICK CLOUDS OF SMOKE, SCATTERING ACROSS PARTS OF GREATER CINCINNATI SPARKING ON A USUALLY QUIET ARLINGTON STREET IN CAMP WASHINGTON. >> WE WERE ABLE TO HOLD THE FIRE BETWEEN THE FAR WALL BETWEEN THE PROPERTIES AND DID NOT ENTER INTO A COFFEE STRUCTURE BUT WE WERE PREPARED IF IT DID HAPPEN. REPORTER: THE MAIN SMOKE, SEEN POURING OUT OF THE RELIABLE CASTINGS BUILDING BUT FLAMES, QUICKLY SPREADING TO A STRUCTURE NEXT DOOR EXPANDING THE SCENE FOR FIRST RESPONDERS. >> WHEN I ARRIVED ON THE SCENE I STRUCK THE OTHER ALARMS. REPORTER: THIS LABOR INTENSIVE SEVEN ALARM FIRE REQUIRED AID FROM NEARBY DEPARTMENTS INCLUDING NORWOOD, GREEN TOWNSHIP, SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, AND OTHER AGENCIES. THE LAST TIME THIS CITY EXPERIENCED A FIRE TO THIS MAGNITUDE WAS IN 2003 DURING THE QUEEN CITY BARREL FIRE. >> FIRED TO GET INTO ANOTHER STRUCTURE. WE WERE ABLE TO CONTROL BOTH FIRES SIMULTANEOUSLY AND REDUCE THE THREAT TO OTHER STRUCTURES IN THE AREA. REPORTER: AS THE CINCINNATI FIRE DEPARTMENT CELEBRATES ITS 107 BIRTHDAY NEXT MONTH, THE CHIEF IS CREDITING HIS TEAM’S EXPERIENCE ON THE JOB FOR ENSURING EVERYBODY SAFETY. >> WE SHOWED UP AND WE SHOWED UP BUT WE NORMALLY DO. OUR GUYS ARE UP FOR THE TASK. LACEY: THAT WAS RACHEL HIRSCHHEIMER REPORTING. CREWS ARE IN THE PROCESS NOW OF TEARING THE STRUCTURE DOWN, BECAUSE THE CHIEF SAYS IT IS TOO UNSTABLE TO REMAIN STANDING. THE ATF SAYS THE BUILDINGS DEPARTMENT AND A DEMOLITION COMPANY ARE ALSO INVOLVED MOVING FORWARD. THE CAUSE OF THIS FIRE IS CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION. ALSO HAPPENING NOW, ANOTHER NORFOLK SOUTHERN TRAIN HAS DERAILED IN OHIO. OUR NEIGHBORS JUST NORTH OF DAYTON ARE SHELTERING IN PLACE. THIS DERAILMENT HAPPENED LAST NIGHT ON STATE ROUTE 41 IN SPRINGFIELD. NORFOLK SOUTHERN SAYS ABOUT 20 CARS DERAILED WHILE TRAVELING THROUGH THE AREA. THEY SAY NO ONE WAS HURT AND NO HAZARDOUS MATERIALS WERE INVOLVED. MULTIPLE LOCAL AND STATE AGENCIES ARE ON THE SCENE INCLUDING THE OHIO EMA, AND THE OHIO EPA. ANYONE WITHIN A THOUSAND FEET OF THE CRASH IS ASKED TO SHELTER IN PLACE OUT OF AN ABUNDANCE OF CAUTION. NO EVACUATION ORDERS HAVE BEEN GIVEN. OHIO SENATOR SHERROD BROWN ISSUING A STATEMENT ON LAST NIGHT’S DERAILMENT. SAYING IN PART, QUOTE, FOUR NORFOLK SOUTHERN DERAILMENTS IN LESS THAN FIVE MONTHS. BECAUSE THIS CORPORATION HAS BEEN MORE CONCERNED WITH ITS PROFIT MARGIN THAN WITH OHIOANS’ SAFETY. AND U.S. TRANSPORTATION SECRETARY PETE BUTTIGIEG, ALSO TWEETING HE HAS ALREADY SPOKEN TO GOVERNOR MIKE DEWINE. AND FEDERAL RAILROAD ADMINISTRATION PERSONNEL, ARE HEADING TO CLARK COUNTY. DESPITE THIS LATEST TRAIN DERAILMENT, AND LAST MONTH’S TOXIC RAILROAD DISASTER IN EAST PALESTINE. THE NATION’S MAJOR FREIGHT RAILROADS STILL WANT SINGLE-PERSON CREWS. THAT MEANS ONLY ONE CREW MEMBER, AN ENGINEER, IS IN THE CAB OF THE LOCOMOTIVE. BUT A BIPARTISAN GROUP OF LAWMAKERS, INCLUDING OHIO SENATORS J.D. VANCE AND SHERROD BROWN JUST INTRODUCED LEGISLATION THIS WEEK THAT WOULD FORBID THOSE SINGLE-PERSON CREWS. THE ASSOCIATION OF AMERICAN RAILROADS HAS RESPONDED, SAYING SINGLE CREWS ARE STILL THEIR PREFERRED METHOD. NEW DETAILS THIS MORNING IN A SHOOTING THAT LEFT A PREGNANT WOMAN DEAD IN COLERAIN TOWNSHIP. WE NOW KNOW THE VICTIM IS 26-YEAR-OLD INDIA KINAMORE. SHE WAS SHOT AND KILLED JUST BEFORE 5:00 SATURDAY MORNING, ON HIDDEN MEADOWS DRIVE. WE’RE TOLD SHE WAS IN THE LATE STAGES OF PREGNANCY. THE SHOOTING ALSO RESULTED IN THE DEATH OF HER BABY. POLICE HAVE NOT PUBLICLY IDENTIFY THE SUSPECT. IF YOU KNOW ANYTHING, GIVE COLERAIN POLICE A CALL. THE 22-YEAR-OLD WOMAN CHARGED WITH KIDNAPPING A 2-YEAR-OLD IN NORTH COLLEGE HILL, APPEARED IN FRONT OF A JUDGE SATURDAY MORNING. LUCY BULLOCK TURNED HERSELF IN FRIDAY NIGHT HOURS AFTER 2-YEAR-OLD BRANDON ROZIER JUNIOR WAS REUNITED WITH HIS FAMILY. THE TODDLER WAS TAKEN FROM HIS BABYSITTER THURSDAY. HE WAS THE SUBJECT OF AN AMBER ALERT FOR MORE THAN 30 HOURS. BULLOCK IS CHARGED WITH KIDNAPPING AND ABDUCTION. POLICE HAVE NOT DETERMINED A MOTIVE. BULLOCK’S ATTORNEY SAID IN COURT SHE IS DEALING WITH MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES. >> WE POINT OUT THE CHILD WAS NEVER IN DANGER. MEMBERS OF MY CLIENT’S FAMILY FOUND HER, RECOVERED THE CHILD, CONTACTED THE MOTHER OF THE CHILD. THE CHILD WAS RETURNED. >> IN REVIEWING THE DEFENSE RECORD, MULTIPLE CHARGES FOR OBSTRUCTION AND RESISTING ARREST AND DISCLOSING PERSONAL INFORMATION. LACEY: A JUDGE SAID BULLOCK HAS FAILED TO APPEAR FOR COURT DATES NINE TIMES. SHE’S ALSO FACING UNRELATED FELONY CHARGES AND JUST VIOLATED HER PROBATION. THE JUDGE SET HER BOND AT $250,000, FOR EACH OF THE TWO CHARGES AGAINST HER. THE XAVIER MUSKETEERS ENDING THE REGULAR SEASON ON A HIGH NOTE. OLIVIA RAY JOINS US NEXT WITH HOW THE MUSKIES BEAT THE BUTLER BULLDOGS. BUT FIRST, THREE TORNADOES NOW CONFIRMED TO HAVE TOUCHED DOWN IN OUR AREA DURING FRIDAY’S STORMS

CINCINNATI — Hyde Park resident Terry Grefer's first impression of the new Oakley Kitchen Food Hall on Madison Road was a simple one.

"We're just excited to be here," Grefer said. "My main first impression is I'm just impressed with the whole concept."

Grefer decided to check out Oakley Kitchen, located at 3715 Madison Road in Oakley, on a recent Thursday with neighborhood friends.

One of those friends, Jeannine Winkelmann, learned about the kitchen through Facebook.

"I think it's really exciting," Winkelmann said. "And it's really convenient and I certainly remember when my kids were little and nobody liked the same food that this would be a great place for families."

Winkelmann referred to the concept behind Oakley Kitchen that makes it a unique neighborhood concept.

"It's special because all of the kitchen owners, and there are seven of them, have their own recipes, and these are all restaurants that you would go elsewhere to find and they might be in eight different neighborhoods," said Doug Hart.

Hart acts as a consultant to the seven restaurant space owners, plus one bar space, operating out of Oakley Kitchen. As Hart explained, each owner leases a small kitchen space for one year in the food hall.

The food served by those vendors ranges from traditional American fares like hamburgers and New Orleans-style cooking to the eclectic, which includes Syrian and Hawaiian outlets.

"We don't have any chains," Hart said. "These are all chef-driven, local concepts. Most of them are starting restaurants for the first time."

He added there is a story behind each food hall counter.

"There are all kinds of stories, including a refugee story," Hart said.

Hart referred to the Olive Tree, run by a Syrian refugee and her two daughters. He described the fare as something similar to Mediterranean dishes people might be more familiar with.

Then there are places such as Jimmy Lou's, a New Orleans-style eatery operated by Jeffery Harris.

Harris moved to Cincinnati with his wife, who is from the Queen City, after Hurricane Katrina decimated his hometown of New Orleans in 2005.

"This has always been a dream of mine, probably all my life, all my culinary life," Harris said.

And by all of his culinary life, Harris does mean all of his life.

"My great-grandmother, who this restaurant is named after, she started me cooking," Harris said. "So, and every story that I was taught about would always lead to her and her influence on me cooking. And so with that it was easy for me to go into naming this place after her."

Harris also worked in multiple New Orleans kitchens as a young adult before moving to Cincinnati, where he's spent the past decade and a half building up to the point where he could own his own place.

"For me, it's all about just giving people honest, real food from where I'm from," Harris said. "And that's all I want to do. I know the reasons why this food is what it is and why people are drawn to it."

Food on Jimmy Lou's menu includes red beans and rice, po'boy sandwiches and fried okra. Harris also started offering fried chicken dinners on Fridays.

Harris said the popularity of his spot within the first two weeks of Oakley Kitchen's opening has been "ridiculous." He also said he has future plans but isn't quite willing to fully announce them just yet.

"Until this is the machine I want it to be, then those thoughts are kind of on hold," Harris said.
