People across the "Who Dey Nation" are rooting for the Bengals as they head to the AFC Championship Game on Sunday — but that "nation" stretches much further than just Cincinnati.

Right now, the Bengals are receiving more support than any other NFL team on Twitter, which tracked more than 200,000 tweets.

A lot of those fans are coming from Louisiana, a place where Burrow already made history.

"Yeah, well, obviously I think that would derive from Joe Burrow, Jamal Chase, you know, to LSU veterans. You know, we all have this special love in our heart for them because of the season bestowed upon us in 2019," said Jason Derouen, a Bengals fan in Louisiana.

Derouen said he remembers that season with Burrow as their quarterback.

Years later, it has some fans saying "Who Dey" for the Bengals instead of "Who Dat" for the Saints.

"The Saints are not in the playoffs and Joe burrow is. You know, a special thing to Louisiana so obviously we want to support him. We want to see him take that team to the Super Bowl," Derouen said.

He is not the only one.

"We're packed from the Bengals games," said Neal Hendrick, owner of Zippy's Burritos Tacos & more.

Not far from LSU's campus, Zippy's Restaurant offers a special item on the menu.

"We made a Joey Burrito," Hendrick said.

It is what Burrow used to order when he lived there, now renamed in his honor.

"You know, you've got a lot of extra fans down here. I know our place has been packed and will be packed for the game this Sunday," Hendrick said.

WCPO's sister station in Louisiana KATC explains why the support runs deep.

"The Tigers went on that undefeated run in 2019 and he won a Heisman only the second Heisman ever, in LSU history on the way to winning the national championship and on the way to pretty much calling his shot every step of the way. He is absolutely beloved here now in Louisiana and he is a son of Louisiana," said Seth Lewis, sports director for KATC.

It is a sentiment many in Louisiana can agree on.

"I'll give you a 'Who Dey." Let's go Bengals. Let's get it done," Derouen said.

Audubon Zoo's gorillas and orangutans are in the process of receiving their first dose of the animal COVID-19 vaccine.

According to Audubon Nature Institute's website, Audubon also plans to vaccinate cats and mustelids such as otters at Audubon Zoo and Audubon Aquarium of the Americas in its next series of vaccinations.

The company Zoetis is donating more than 11,000 doses of its COVID-19 vaccine to help protect the health and well-being of more than 100 mammalian species living in nearly 70 zoos as well as more than a dozen conservatories, sanctuaries, academic institutions, and government organizations located in 27 states.

According to CBS News, the zoo joins a list of other zoos and aquariums across the U.S. vaccinating its animals against COVID-19.

The new vaccine has been authorized for use on a case-by-case basis by the United States Department of Agriculture and the appropriate state veterinarians.

"It's very important to us to protect our animals against COVID-19 and the Delta variant," said Audubon's Senior Veterinarian Bob MacLean. "We have been evaluating the scientific literature on animal susceptibility throughout the pandemic, and we are eager to protect our animals."

Zoetis' research and development team, headquartered in Michigan, applied decades of experience developing other coronavirus vaccines for cats, dogs, poultry, and cattle.

Zoetis' COVID-19 vaccine is uniquely formulated for animal species and does not pull from the doses available to humans, the website states.

"Although there are no long-term studies since the virus emerged less than two years ago, development studies by Zoetis demonstrated the vaccine to be safe and have a reasonable expectation of efficacy in mounting an immune response in animals," said MacLean.

All the animals receiving the vaccine at the Zoo and Aquarium voluntarily participate in their health care through positive reinforcement training and are not put under anesthesia to receive their vaccination.

They have been trained to sit, stand, or present their bodies during regular health checks by the animal care and veterinary staff, according to Audubon Nature Institute.

Animal care staff working near animals most susceptible to the virus have been following strict PPE protocols since the start of the pandemic.

Giraffe feeds, otter feeds, and other close encounter guest opportunities at the Zoo have been paused as a precautionary measure for animal safety.

"This proactive measure is an additional layer of protection. The health of the animals in our care, staff, and guests is our top priority," MacLean said.

ST. MARTINVILLE, La. - Two sanitation workers in south central Louisiana are being praised for their sharp eyes and quick thinking in the rescue of a 10-year-old kidnapping victim.

At 7:30 a.m. Monday, two employees for Pelican Waste & Debris were on the job in St. Martin Parish, Louisiana, east of Lafayette. They’d heard the Amber Alert for a missing 10-year old girl from New Iberia earlier in the morning, and as they drove down Burton Plantation Highway, they looked to the left, and saw something suspicious.

They captured the moment on video that they quickly posted to Facebook. “Bruh, something told me,” said truck driver Dion Merrick on the video, “I said ‘What that car doin’ way off in the field like that? what the car doin’? come on, man!’

“And he was like, ‘B, that looks like the silver Nissan in the Amber Alert’,” recalls Merrick’s partner, Brandon Antoine.

Using Facebook to give on location, minute-by-minute updates, Merrick and Antoine chose to act, and they trapped the suspect, Michael Sereal, in the wet and muddy field.

“Look what I did,” said Merrick, turning his camera phone toward his garbage truck, “look where we was parked. I blocked the truck in and made sure he couldn’t get out. He (Sereal) got nervous, he opened the door, and I said to Brandon, ‘that’s the dude right there’. So we blocked the drive onto the highway with that big truck, and I knew, ‘You ain’t gettin’ out with that big thing.”

At the same time, Merrick and Antoine called the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Department. “We called 9-1-1 at the same time I backed my truck up in the driveway to make sure he didn't get out, and talked to the 9-1-1. The operator basically told me i had about a minute before a deputy was going to be on the scene.”

The girl was reported missing from a family's member's home Sunday afternoon, according to New Iberia police. Later Sunday night, an Amber Alert was issued once police had details to share of the vehicle she might be in.

Sereal is being held on a charge of aggravated kidnapping of a child and failure to register as a sex offender, according to records.

KATC reports Sereal was convicted of carnal knowledge of a juvenile in 2016.

Both Antoine and Merrick are fathers, and they say what happened to the young girl and what could have happened strikes close to home. Deciding to get involved was a no-brainer.

“The little girl’s safe right now. Thank God, man. ‘Cuz I got a little girl of my own. I’m on my job, doin’ what I got to do,” said Merrick on the video. And Antoine, a step-father to three children and the father to one more, said the whole incident touched his heart. “Right after, I called one of my children, said ‘I love you’, and I can’t wait to see them all and hug them tight.”

There are a couple of messages from our heroes, even though neither considers himself a hero. Message #1: Know where you’re children are, and #2: Thank a higher power for this miracle.

“Whoever’s little girl this is, you need to fall down on your knees and say, ‘thank you God, thank you. ‘Cuz it could have been worse’.”

The other message from our heroes? So many people often see things that don’t look right, but don’t do anything about them, they choose not to get involved. Pelican employees Dion Merrick and Brandon Antoine had the courage to do otherwise.
