MIDDLETOWN, Ohio —

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a serious injury, multi-vehicle crash that occurred in Turtle Creek Township on Tuesday evening.

Police say the eight-vehicle crash occured on northbound Interstate 75 near the 32 mile marker at approximately 4:48 p.m.

Multiple occupants from multiple involved vehicles were transported to undisclosed hospitals, police say.

All northbound lanes of I-75 are currently closed at mile marker 32.

The left two lanes of southbound I-75 at mile marker 32 also remain closed.

The crash is under investigation by the Lebanon Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

FLORENCE, Ky. — One person was airlifted to University of Cincinnati Medical Center in critical condition Friday after a crash on I-75 in Boone County.

The Florence Police Department said officers responded to a crash on I-75 South between the Turfway and Erlanger exits at around 4:20 p.m. After investigating, officers said a car struck the rear of a box truck, causing the truck to hit the concrete median and overturn.

Police said the truck's passenger was ejected and sustained a serious head injury. The person was airlifted to UC, and is currently listed in critical, but stable condition. The truck driver and both people inside the car were taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital Florence. All are expected to be OK.

I-75 South was shut down for several hours at mile marker 182. The Florence Police Accident Reconstruction Team is handling the investigation.

WALTON, Ky. — Two people were killed in a crash involving three vehicles on the I-75 southbound ramp to Mary Grubbs Highway in Boone County.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office said a witness reported a white 2019 Jeep Wrangler collided with the rear end of a brown 2007 Honda Civic stopped in traffic while getting on the ramp from I-75 South to Mary Grubbs Hwy Friday around 5 p.m. The Honda Civic then hit a white 2020 Chevrolet pickup truck also stuck in traffic.

Wendy Ward, the driver of the Honda Civic, was airlifted to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with possible life-threatening injuries. Two passengers, 52-year-old Jeff Mardis of Walton and 15-year-old Autumn Ward of Newport, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Jeep Wrangler was taken to St. Elizabeth Florence Hospital for minor injuries, and the driver of the pickup truck was treated on scene. While the crash remains under investigation, Boone County deputies said they do not believe intoxication was a contributing factor.

HAMILTON, Ohio — Felony indictments were returned on Wednesday for a Hamilton woman and a Madison Twp., man for fatal crashes earlier this year.

Denisha Chaney of Montana Avenue in Hamilton was indicted for aggravated vehicular homicide, operating a vehicle under the influence, involuntary manslaughter and felony endangering children in connection with a July 25 crash on Interstate 75.

Chaney’s 2 1/2-year-old child was injured in the crash and died several days later.

“She is on video with an ODOT camera going at a terrifically high rate of speed and very shortly after, loses control of her car, slams into the side of another car crossing lanes and ends up going out of control,” Butler County Prosecutor Michael Gmoser said. “There is a crash and a 2 1/2-year-old child was killed.”

Chaney’s blood alcohol level at the time of the crash tested at 0.19, according to Gmoser, which is more than twice Ohio’s 0.08 legal driving limit.

Jordan Kenyon, 22, of Perry Avenue in Madison Twp. is facing charges of aggravated vehicular homicide and vehicular homicide for a crash on March 9 that killed a passenger and injured two others.

Kenyon was traveling at “a very high rate of speed” on Lefferson Road when he lost control of his Mini Cooper, and the car hit a building, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Charles Barrett, 21, was thrown from the car and died at the scene. Kenyon, a 22-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were also injured.

Kenyon is scheduled to be arraigned Oct. 5 by Butler County Common Pleas Judge Noah Powers II.
