MASONND A I SAW THEM FLY OVER WAS A PRETTY COOL SIGHT. ABSOLUTELY. YEAH. ALLIG RHT. IT WAS A GREAT DAY TO GET OUT THERE TO KICK OFF THE UNOFFICIAL START OF SUMMER. MAYBE GO BACK DOWN TO THE TASTE OF CINCINNATI AND SHE WTEN TO DINNER. IT’S REALLY GOOD. I’M SO GLAD OENC AGAIN BARBECUE BARBECUE ALL THE FIXINGS. YEAH, GOOD. I’M SO GLAD AND I’M SO GLAD THAT THE WEATHER WAS NEIC FOR TODAY AS WELL. RIGHT? WHAT A GREAT WAYO T UNOFFICIALLY KICK OFF SUMMERND A TO HONOR MEMORIAL DAY 74 IN SPRINGBORO RIGHT NOW STILL LOOKS GORGEOUS OUTSEID 76 AND HAMILTON THE SKY IS STILL GOING TO STAY NICE AND CLEAR FOR THE REST OF TONIGHT 77 IN SHARONVILLE RIGHT NOW LOVELAND SITTING AROUND 76 DEGREES. IT IS4 7 IN KENWOOD 78 DEGREES IN FORT MITCHELL RIGHT NOW, AND IF YOU’RE LOOKING AT YOUIG MHT BE ABLE TO SEE AEW F SHOOTING STARS, I BELIEVE THERE’S A METEOR SHOWER GNGOI ON TONIGHT AND THEN EARLY IN THE MORNING TOMORROW IF YOU’RE HEADING BACK INTO THE OFFICE AFTER THE WEEKENDEM TPERATURES ARE GOING TO BE IN THE UERPP 60S LOW 70S FIRST THING IN THE MORNING. IT WILL STAY NICE AND CLEAR ALL MORNING LONG TOMORROW, BUT WE ARE STARTING OFF VERY MILD. I MEAN TEMPERATURES BY NINE O’CLOCK IN THE MORNING. ALREADY UP TO 75 DEGREES AT THAT POINT AND WE’LL STAY SUNNY ALL DAY LONG TOMORROW. IT’S GOING TO OVERALL BE A GORGEOUS DAY. DEFINILYTE FEELING LIKE SUMMER OUTSIDE TOMORROW WHAT TEMPERATURES APPROACHING 90 DEGREES AND FEELS LIKE TEMPERATURES LIKELY GOING TO SURPASS0 9 DEGREES AS WELL NOW BY WEDNESDAY, WE STILL GET THAT SUMMERTIME HEAT BUT BY THE AFTERNOON SINCE SUMMERTIME STORMSN I THE FORECAST FOR US, TOO, THOSE ARE GOING TO COME IN THEAY W OF A COLD FRONT AND EVENTUALLY THAT IS GOING TO COOL US OFF THURSDAY AND FRIDAY AND THEN EVEN INTO THE AND STILL LOOKING TO BE PRETTY NICE AND LDMI WITH TEMPERATURES BY SATURDAY ONLY AROUND 80 DEGREES. NOW TONIGHT WE STILL HAVE A DRY YSK AND ALSO STILL SAYING THAT SOUTH WIND PULLING IN FROM THE GULF, WHICH MEANS IT’S HOT AND HUMID OUTSIDE AND IT WILL BE FOR THE REST OF TONIGHT COLD FRONT THOUGH STASRT TO MOVE IN HERE SLOWLY OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS AND THIS IS WHAT’S GNGOI TO ALLOW FOR OUR SHOWERS AND STORMS TO COME BACK INTO THE FORECAST BY THE SECOND HALF OF THE DAY ON WEDNESDAY W,NO ACTING WEDNESDAY MORNING TO STAY NICE AND DRY. SO IF YOU’RE HOPING TO HEAD OUT TO THE POOL WEDNESDAY MORNING, YOU’RE GOOD TO GO, BUT TRY TO GET HOME BEFORE AT LEAST 2:00 IN ETH AFTERNOON BECAUSE AFTER THAT WE COULD SEE SOME SHOWERS AND STORMS STARTING TO DEVELOP EVEN THOUGH I DO THINKOR F THE MOST PART THE SHOWERS AND STORMS ARE GONNA HOLD OFF QUITE A BIT INTO WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON, BUT STILL KEEP IN MIND THAT IF YOU’RE HOPING FOR A MIDWEEK PL OOVISIT GONNA GET A LITTLE BIT RAINY BY WEDNESDAY AT LEAST AFTERNOON OR EVENING. ALL RIGHT. SO RADAR IS PRETTY QUIET OUTSIDE REALLY DON’T NEED BEEN TOO MUCH TIME WITH THAT TONIGHT. WE’LL STAY NICE AND QUIETND A CLEAR TOMORROW MORNING 8:30 NOT A CLOUD IN THE SKY AND IT’S GOING TO OVERALL BE A BEAUTULIF TUESDAY FOR US HERE AND THEN EVEN TOMORROW NIGHT STILL LOOKS LIKE A GREAT NIGHT TO GRILL OUT OR TO SPEND SOME TIME OUTSIDE IF YOU’RE HOPING TO GET OUT IN THE GARDEN BEFORE WE GET TO NEXT WEEKEND TOMORROW IS GONNA BE A GOOD DAY, ESPECIALLY ONCE A SUN STARTS TO SET AND IT GETS A LITTLE BIT COOLER FOR US. KEEP IN MIND FEELS LIKE TEMPERATURES WILL BE CLOSE TO 90 DEGREES TOMORROW AFTERNOON, AND THAT’S A SHADE SO IF YOU’RE OUT IN THE DIRECT SUN IT IS GOING TO BE VERY HOT TOMORROW AFTERNOON BY WEDNESDAY MORNING STARTS OFF NICE AND DRY BUT THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING IS A DIFFERENT STORY AGAIN. WE’ FLLINE-TUNE THAT TIMELINE. QUICKLY WHEN THE SHOWERS AND STORMS ARE GOING TO RETURN ON WEDNESDAY, BUT JUST KNOW THAT IT IS GOING TO BE GENERALLY LATER IN THE AFTERNOON IN THE EVENING ON WEDNESDAY AND SOME OF THOSE STORMS COULD BE ON THE SONTRG SIDE AND THEN THEY’LL BE SCATTERED THROUGHOUT THURSDAY AS WELL. SO BOTH DAYS ARE GOING TOE B WEATHER IMPACT DAYS. SOME STRONG WIND LOOKING TO BE THE PRIRYMA THREAT, OF COURSE LIGHTNING COMING WITH ANY THUNDERSTORM AND THEN LOCLYAL HEAVY RAINFALL BRINGING US ABOUT ANOTHER INCH OR SO OF RAIN DEPENDING ON IF YOU SEE ONE OF THOSE STRONGER THUNDERSTORMS YOU’LL LAND ON EITHER. SIDE OF THAT INCH RAINFALL TOTAL SO ONCE WE GET TO FRIDAY TEMPERATURES 74 STARTING TO DRY OUT ON FRIDAY LKSOO GREAT FOR THE WEEKEND FORECAST. BUT UNTIL THEN WE DO HAVE THOSE TWO WEATHER IMPACT DAYS, WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY. OTHERWISE TEMPERATURES LOOKING AND FEELING A LOT LIKE SUMMER ASHLEY AND MIKE.

THIS MUCH DAMAGE IN A LGON TIME FROM A STORM LIKE THIS. &gt;&gt; IT WAS CERTAINLY NASTY OUT THEER TODAY AND PEOPLE ARE GOING TO BE SPENDING THE NEXT FEW DAYS CLEANING UP, MANY AROUND GREATER CINCINNATI. &gt;&gt; IT’S EASY TO GET THAT KIND OF DAMAGE WHEN UYO HAVE HURRICANE FORCE WIND GUSTS, OR CLOSE TO IT. IT IS ONE THING WHAT HAPPENS IN THE MIDDLE OF AWARE SO TO SPEAK, AND YOU JUST DON’T HAVE QUITE THE CONCENTRATION. THE AIRPORT WITH 70 MILE-PER-HOUR WIND GUSTS, NEAR HEBRON 72 MILE AN HOUR WIND GUSTS, VERY STRONG WINDS HURRICANE FORCE WINDUS GTS ACROSS NORTHERN KENTUCKY EARLIER THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. MUCH QUIETER SCENARIO AND HE WILL MAKE UP -- WAKE UP TO A MUCH WIDER START ON YOUR THURSDAY. TOMORROW MORNING, IT SHOULD BE DRY FOR THE MORNING COMMUTE. MAYBE IF YOU CLOUD STILL LINGERING AROUND BUT IT WILL ELFE NICER AND A LOT LESS HUMID. THEN TOMORROW AFTERNOON LOOKS NICE, IT WILL FEEL GREAT. HIGHS ONLY THE MID TO UERPP 70’S WITH A BIG DROP IN HUMIDITY, THAT IS THE MOST NOTIABCELE CHANGE COMING OUR WAY. AND THEN LOOKING MIGHTY FINE TOMORROW NIGHT, IT WILBEL A GREAT NIGHT TO BE OUT OR FOR BASEBALL AS WELL, TINHE LOW 70’S. THERE IS A LOOK AT RADAR, THE SHOWERS AND STORMS FMRO EARLIER ARE ALL GONE. WE ARE LOOKING GOOD THE REST OF TONIGHT. HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING MOVING FORWARD, BASICALLY, REMEMBER THOSE DEW POINTS? ALWAYS A GOOD MEASURE OF HOW COMFORTABLITE IS, THOSE ARE IN THE 50’S, IT IS VERY REFRESHING. DRIER AIR MAKING A MORE SUBSTANTIAL PUSH TOWARDS THE OHIO RIVER TONIGHT. BY THE TIME YOU WAKE UP IN THE MORNING, I THINK THOSEEW D POINTS ARE IN THE 50’S ALL THE WAY DOWN INTO KENTUCKY. SO, WE ARE GOING TO BRING IN MUCH LESS HUMID AIR OVER THE NEXT 24 HOURS.D AIR OVER THE AND IT’S ALREADY UNDERWAY TONIT,GH IES WT WIND AT 14, THOSE DEW POINTS ARE DROPPING. LOOK AT THAT RAINFALL TODAY. ONLY 6/10 OFFICIALLY AT THE AIRPORT,UT B I AM MORE THAN CERTAIN SOME OF YOU PICKED UP MORE THAN THAT TODAY. TEMPERATURES AROUND THE AREA FROM 64 IN CONNERSVIELL TO 69 IN HAMILTON AND HERE IN CINCINNATI. 68 BATAVIA AND 67 AROUND BROOKSVILLE. OVER THE NEXT 12 HOURS WE WILL SPEND THE MAJORITY OF THE NIGHT IN THE 60’S, THEN WE BRIEFLY GET DOWN TO THE UPPER 50’S BEFORE THE SUN COMES UP IN THE MORNG.IN TOMORROW SHOULD BE A LESS HUMID AFTERNOON. IT’S QUIET THROUGH THE REST OF THE NIGHT, WE WILL SEE SOME CLOUDS TRYING TO MOVE IN BEFORE THE N SUCOSME UP, THOSE SHOULD EVENTUALLY BURN OFF, LEAVING A PRETTY NEIC AFTERNOON AND A NICE-LOOKING EVENING FOR THE THURSDAY. AS WE GET TO THURSDAY NIGHT, IT IS QUIET. AND IT IS QUITE WHEN YOU WAKE UP ON FRIDAY MORNING. HOWEVER I FOR BY FRIDAY EVENING, THE CHCEAN FOR RAIN RETURNS. THIS WILL BE THUNRSDETORM ACTIVITY, IN FACT, I THINK MOST OF THIS SHOULD BE RELATIVELY LIGHT. ON FRIDAY EVENING AND FRIDAY NIGHT. BUT IT DOES LOOAK LTLITE DAMP TO MAYBE JUST FLAT OUT WET EVEN FOR YOUR FRIDAY EVENING AND OVERNIGHT FRIDAY. THEN BY SATURDAY MORNING IT STARTS GLOOMY, BUT WE SHLDOU WORK OUR WAY SOME PRETTY NICE IMPROVEMENTS, WH MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES BY THE TIME WE GET INTO SATURDAY AFTERNOON. NOW ENJOY THE REST BUT -- RE SPITE FROM THE HUMIDITY AND THE HEAT, WE HAVE WHAT COULD BE OUR HOW TO STRETCH OF WEATHER SO FAR THIS SEASON COMING IN HERE NEXT WEEK. HOW THAT PLAYS OUT STILL A LITTLE UP IN THE AIR, BUT I SEE 90’S ARE ON THE TAB,LE AND IT MAY BE HOTTER THAN THAT. SO WE WILL SEE. 59 AND COOLER THE REST OF THE NIGHT. TOMOOWRR PARTLY CLOUDY AND, 76. THERE IS A LOOK AT JORDAN PLANNER. SOME CLOUDS TO START THE DAY, BUT OVERALL IT SHOULD BE A NICE ONE. HERE’S A LOOK AT THE SEVEN DAY FORECAST. I DID NOT MAKE FRIDAY A WEATHER IMPACT DAY SINCE THE RAIN DOES NOT LOOK HEAVY AND WE ARE NOT TALKGIN THUNDERSTORMS, 73. SATURDAY, 77 IS NICE. BUT THEN WE’D REALLY CRANK UP THE HEAT IN A HURRY. SUAYND INTO THE MID-80’S, BY EARLY NEXT WEEK WE COULD BE IN THE LOW TO MID 90’S. BASED OFF WHAT WE ARE SEEING, SOME OF THE NUMBERS I HAVE FOR THE SEVEN DAY ARE ON THE MORE CONSERVATIVE, MEANING IT COULD BE EVEN HIGHER. SO BRACE YOURSELVES, GET THOSE POOLS READY FOR NEXT WEEK.

IN FACT EVERYONE WAKING UP TO DRY SKIES HERE THIS MORNING, THAT’LL BE THE PICTURE FOR US FOR ANOTHER COUPLE OF HOURS. I WOULD SAY THROUGH THE MIDDAY. THAT’S WHAT WE’RE GONNA START TO SEE OUR BEST CHANCES FOR AT LEAST A COUPLE OF POP-UP SHOWERS, MAYBE A THUNDERSTORM OR TWO, BUT UNTIL THEN, MOISTURE CONTINUES TO SURGE IN WE HAVE LOW PRESSURE JUST OFF TO THE WEST AND THAT’LL KEEP THOSE SOUTH WINDS IN PLACE TODAY COLD FRONT BEHIND THAT WHICH IS GOING TO BE SLOW MOVING INTO THE EARLY PART OF THE WEEK. SO STAYING ACTIVE FOR TODAY TOMORROW AND EVEN INTO TUESDAY, I THINK MONDAY TUESDAY GONNA BE OUR STORMIER DAYS OF THE NEXT FEW NOW FOR TODAY WE GET TO 87 THAT’S GONNA BE OUR HIGH BUT IT’S GONNA FEEL MORE LIKE THE MID 90S WHEN YOU FACTOR IN ALL OF THAT HUMIDITY SPOTTY STORMS AT BEST AS GO THROUGH TODAY THIS MODEL THINKS WE’RE HAVE STORMS HERE IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS. JUST COMPARING OVER THE LAST FEW HOURS HOW THIS MODEL IS DOING I WOULD SAY THE BEST BET FOR SOME WET WEATHER WOULD BE AROUND MIDDAY IN THE HOURS FOLLOWING SO BETWEEN NOON AND THREE LEAST A COUPLE OF POP-UP SHOWERS, MAYBE A DOWNPOUR TO AND THEN BETWEEN THREE AND SIX ADDITIONAL SPOTTY SHOWERS, BUT THE TREND AS WE GO PAST SIX O’CLOCK AND INTO AROUND 9:00 9:30 TONIGHT. IT’S GOING TO BE DRYING SKY, SO WE’RE GONNA SEE LESS SHOWER COVERAGE QUIET AS WE HAVE THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. EVEN GETTING RID OF A GOOD CHUNK OF THE CLOUDS TONIGHT AS WELL. I WOULD SAY PARTLY CLOUDY FOR TONIGHT, BUT SOME OF US MAY ACTUALLY BECOME MOSTLY CLEAR FOR A TIME VERY MUGGY WITH TEMPERATURES RIGHT AROUND 71 AND THEN FOR TOMORROW, WE HAVE 89 FOR THE HIGH, BUT IT’S GOING TO FEEL MORE LIKE THE MID 90S WITH CONTINUED HUMIDITY FAR MORE STORM COVERAGE FOR TOMORROW AS WELL. SO WE’VE GOT A WEATHER IMPACT DAY IN PLACE. THAT’S THE CASE FOR TUESDAY. I THINK TUESDAY THOUGH GOING TO BE. STORMIER OF THE TWO DAYS TEMPERATURES WILL BE IN THE MID 80S THAT DAY LOW 80S ON WEDNESDAY WILL HAVE A FEW SHOWERS BEFORE NOON THEN THURSDAY, FRIDAY AND SATURDAY OR WEATHER STARTS TO IMPROVE SO YOU’RE GOING TO NOTICE A DROP IN HUMIDITY ON WEDNESDAY, BUT BY THURSDAY AND EVEN INTO FRIDAY AND SATURDAY, VERY PLEASANT HUMIDITY LEVELS AND SOME COMFORTABLE TEMPERATURES TOO I

Smoky haze, hot weather and powerful storms brought dangerous and uncomfortable conditions to parts of the U.S. heading into a long July Fourth weekend that typically draws Americans to outdoor gatherings.Video above: Extreme heat temperatures recorded in TexasFrom heat waves in the South and West to unhealthy air quality in the Northeast, much of the U.S. was under the threat of extreme weather. In the Midwest, some residents Friday were recovering from a powerful storm that moved through Illinois and Indiana a day earlier packing winds that reached more than 70 miles per hour. That storm damaged trees and buildings in the central parts of both states from the Mississippi River to the Indianapolis area. Crews worked to replace electrical lines entangled in downed trees ahead of more expected thunderstorms and temperatures climbing to around 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Utility companies reported that more than 250,000 homes and businesses were still without electricity.Brian Alexander, 55, swept up debris from the front yard of his Springfield, Illinois, home. Tree limbs that fell on his car left several small dents.“Very lucky on that,” Alexander said. “No power, but we’ll manage. We’re just waiting for the city to get us hooked up again and we’ll get everything cleaned up.”Video below: Severe storms topple traffic lights and trees in Springfield, IllinoisThe National Weather Service said the storm was a derecho, which is often described as an inland hurricane because of its line of strong winds stretching for hundreds of miles.“We had damage all the way from northeast Kansas, all the way down into Kentucky and across Indiana,” said John Bumgardner, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Illinois. In the South, a dangerous heat wave that has been blamed for the deaths of at least 14 people was expected to last into the weekend in some areas. Parts of Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi were under excessive heat warnings Friday as heat indexes rose above 110 degrees Fahrenheit in some places. In Memphis, Tennessee, officials said relief efforts were focused on the thousands of people who still had no power after storms Sunday that knocked down trees and power lines. In Nashville, residents and tourists alike tried to keep comfortable as temperatures climbed toward the upper 90s.Leo Bennett, an employee of the county sheriff and at a private traffic control company, said he prepares for long days outside by drinking several bottles of water and packing a cooler.“One of my secrets is the pickle juice,” Bennett said. "I bring pickle juice to keep from cramping up or whatever the case might be.”At a park just outside downtown, teenage baseball players participated in a tournament and used cold towels between innings to cope with the heat. Coach Jordan Sheffield said he planned to pick up a fan for the dugout.“You can kind of see it on their face, really. The red face a lot. A lot more of them red faced,” said Sheffield. “A lot of hands on their knees, things like that. So I kind of keep an eye on that and just try to keep them as cool as possible." The EPA warned Friday that parts of Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut could experience “unhealthy” air conditions because of ongoing wildfires in Quebec and northern Ontario.“The primary concern is high concentrations of fine particle air pollution that is unhealthy, especially for sensitive groups such as people with respiratory disease, the elderly, or people with compromised health,” the agency said.Video below: Timelapse video shows smoke engulfing NYC over a 3-hour periodThe Midwest storm helped clear that smoke from the region's air. The Environmental Protection Agency had listed many cities, including Chicago, Detroit, Indianapolis and Cleveland, Ohio, as having “very unhealthy air” earlier in the week. But the Midwest might only have a brief respite with another storm is poised to move through the region Sunday, meteorologist Bumgardner said.“Behind that our winds will probably switch back to northerly, which theoretically could bring a little more smoke into the area,” Bumgardner said. “But that’s tough to predict more than a day or two out.”Parts of the West were anticipating extremely hot, dry conditions forecast through the Fourth of July, raising concerns about the danger of fireworks shows and wildfires. Parts of California were under excessive-heat warnings and heat advisories that were expected to last through the weekend.“Looking at our high temperature forecast, we can’t help but feel like we’ve fallen into a ring of fire,” the National Weather Service’s Sacramento office tweeted.Airline travelers got some relief Friday, with none of the weather-induced restrictions imposed earlier this week on planes landing and taking off at major airports in the Northeast.Still, by midday on the East Coast more than 2,000 flights had been delayed and more than 300 others canceled — more than 200 of those on United Airlines, according to FlightAware.___Hall reported from Nashville. Associated Press writers John O'Connor in Springfield, Ill., John Antczak in Los Angeles, David Koenig in Dallas, Adrian Sainz in Memphis, Tennessee and Bruce Shipkowski in Trenton, N.J. contributed.

SO JUST KEEP THAT IN MIND. BUT IT IS A BEAUTIFUL DAY. ANOTHER WARM DAY, VERY SUMMER, LIKE WITH THAT WARMTH CONTINUING, BUT HUMIDITY STAYING LOW. AND THAT IS THE GOOD NEWS THAT WE HAVE BEEN ENJOYING HERE THE PAST FEW DAYS. IT’S STILL WARM IF YOU GET OUTSIDE, IF YOU’RE IN THE SUNSHINE, STILL FEELS HOT, STILL FEELS WARM, BUT WITHOUT THAT HUMIDITY, IT DOESN’T FEEL OVERWHELMING OR KIND OF MUGGY OUT THERE WITH WITH THAT AROUND. BUT THAT DRY STREAK AND FORTUNATELY CONTINUING, WE COULD DEFINITELY USE SOME RAIN IN THE FORECAST, BUT IT HAS YET TO APPEAR BESIDES MAYBE A STRAIGHT CHANCE HERE AND THERE. SO RIGHT NOW, CVG AIRPORT AT 72 DEGREES, THOSE NORTHEAST WINDS AT TEN MILES AN HOUR DO POINTS IN THE MID TO LOWER FIFTIES, WHICH IS VERY SIMILAR TO WHAT WE SAW YESTERDAY. SO WE’RE RIGHT IN THAT PLEASANT, REFRESHING RANGE FOR THIS WEEKEND, CONTINUING ON EVEN INTO NEXT WEEK AS WELL. MANY AREAS THIS MORNING, THOUGH, STARTING OUT IN THOSE SIXTIES, EVEN A FEW FIFTIES IN HAMILTON HARRISON, 58, 67 IN BATESVILLE, 65 IN BATAVIA. AS WE LOOK AT FUTURE CARS, I MENTIONED TODAY IS MOSTLY DRY. BUT AS WE GET INTO THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING, YOU SEE HOW THE MODELS ARE TRYING TO BUILD UP SOME ISOLATED STRAY SHOWERS. NOW, AGAIN, THIS IS GOING TO BE LOOKING AGGRESSIVE. THEN WHAT WILL ACTUALLY SEE OUT THERE, BECAUSE HERE’S THE THING, WHILE YOU DO SEE IT LOOKS PRETTY STRONG OUT THERE BY LATE THIS EVENING, EVEN INTO TONIGHT, THAT DRY AIR REALLY GOING TO LIMIT WHAT IS POSSIBLE OUT THERE FOR THIS EVENING. SO WHILE WE CAN’T RULE OUT ANY STRAY CHANCE, IT IS A VERY STRAY, VERY ISOLATED, AND THEN IT CONTINUES TO STAY DRY THROUGH SUNDAY. SO EVEN IF YOU DO SEE THAT STRAY CHANCE POP UP OVER YOUR HOME, IT’S GOING TO BE GONE AS QUICKLY AS IT POPS UP WITH THAT DRY AIR AROUND FOR TODAY. TEMPERATURES CLIMBING THROUGH THEIR SIXTIES INTO THE SEVENTIES, INTO FORD’S 80 AS EVEN BEFORE WE GET TOWARDS NOON TIME AND AS WE GO THROUGH THIS EVENING FOR YOUR REDS GAME, WE DO HAVE GREAT WEATHER. IT’S ANOTHER HOT 190 TO START THE GAME THAT FIRST PITCH FOR TEN BY THE LAST OUT WE’RE INTO THE UPPER NINETIES AND FOR FC CINCY TONIGHT TAKING ON CHICAGO FIRE THEY ARE TIKI WELL THE MARCH IN THE MATCH IN THE UPPER EIGHTIES KICK OFF AROUND 730. YOU’RE LOOKING AROUND THE MID EIGHTIES AND BY DRIVING HOME YOU’RE TALKING 70. SO VERY WARM FOR THAT AS WELL. SO STAY HYDRATED IF YOU ARE GOING OUT TO ANY OF THOSE EVENTS. OTHERWISE YOU’LL GET A SEVEN DAY FORECAST AND NO RAIN CHANCES STAYING HERE IN THE FORECAST.

<p>LOS ANGELES — The weather at this Sunday’s Super Bowl game is expected to be unseasonably hot.</p>
<p>A rare wintertime heat advisory was issued for California.</p>
<p>Temperatures during game time could reach 90 degrees Sunday.</p>
<p>High temperatures in Los Angeles during this time of year are usually in the mid-60s.</p>
<p>Players and spectators likely won’t feel the full force of the heat inside SoFi Stadium because the indoor-outdoor arena is able to maintain a controlled temperature.</p>
<p>Still, the <a class="Link" href="https://twitter.com/NWSLosAngeles/status/1491152382159634432">National Weather Service</a> is advising people to take precautions, including drinking plenty of water and wearing lightweight, loose-fitting, light-colored clothing.</p>
<p>The high temperatures are expected to set a record for the warmest day ever on which the big game has been played.</p>

<p>BOULDER, Colo. — Technology is more powerful than ever before, and that power comes with a problem: heat.</p>
<p>Phones, laptops and other devices are prone to overheating when they work too hard. It's been a barrier to innovation for decades.</p>
<p>"The inability to control heat is one of the big limits in current nanotechnologies," said Margaret Murnane, a physicist at JILA, a joint research institute between the University of Colorado Boulder and the National Institute of Standards and Technology. "[It impacts] future quantum computers, and even the computers in our homes and cars."</p>
<p>"If you keep your laptop on your lap for an extended period of time while you're working on it, or if you're playing a game on your cell phone for a while, you will quickly find that heat management is very critical in how those devices function," said Joshua Knobloch, a postdoctoral research associate at JILA.</p>
<p>Knobloch and Murnane are co-authors of a recent study that may have solved a portion of the heat distribution problem.</p>
<p>Typically, hot metal objects need space to cool down efficiently. The researchers' work found something very different at the nano level.</p>
<p>"If you take an array of these very small heat sources and you tightly pack them together, they cool much more efficiently and faster than if you spaced them widely apart," Knobloch said.</p>
<p>The nano-sized metal bars used in the research are thinner than a blood cell. Murnane, Knobloch and the rest of the team used one of the world's most powerful computers to simulate how heat dissipated when those bars were spaced at different distances.</p>
<p>When the bars were packed tightly together, heat energy was forced away at a relatively high rate of speed. It's a technique that could be incorporated into electronic devices moving forward.</p>
<p>"In a way, it's a very timely discovery," said Mahmoud Hussein, a theorist and professor at CU Boulder's Aerospace Engineering program. "If you look at the state of industry right now, the key is going smaller and smaller, and this discovery is all about that."</p>

IMPORTANT TO KEEP RAISING AWARENESS OF S."CA LET’S TURN OUR ATTENTION BACTOK THE WEATHER. IT WLIL CHANGE A BIT THIS WEEKEND AND START TO FEEL A LITTLE MORE LIKE FALL. KATIE: WE HAVE TO WAIT TO THE ENOFD THE WEEK TO REALLY GET THE FALL CHILL, BUT WE HAVE A COUPLE DAYS WHERE THE HIGHS ARE IN THE 70’S. WE WILL HAVE SOME BREAKS IN THE 80’S. STILL PRETTY WARM RIGHT NOW. CLEAR SKIES ACRSOS CINCINNATI. LOW 70’S CURRENTLY. A BEAUTILFU NIGHT. EVERYONE WAS COMMENTING ON FACEBOOK JUST HOW NICE IT WAS. WE WILL CONTINUE TO SEE THOSE NICE TEMPERATURES TONIGHT, BUT WARMTH WILL BE IN ABUNDANCE TONIGHT. A WARM FRONT TO THE NORTH, THE WARM AIR REALLY PROMINENT ACROSS THE OHIO VALLEY. WE WILL BE FEELING THOSE WARMER TEMPERATURES ONCE AGAIN TOMORROW AND IN THE DAYS FOLLOWING. NOT A LOT OF RAIN THROUGH TONIGHT AND THE FIRST PART OF TOMORROW. I THINK CLOUDS DO THICKEN UP A BIT. PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES AND TIMES OF PARTLY SUNNY CONDITIONS THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. I THINK THERE WILL BE TESIM OF MAINLY SUNNY SKIES, BUT CLOUD COVER HOLDING OFF UNTIL MONDAY OVERNIGHT INTO TUESDAY, WHEN RAIN SHOWERS START TO MOVE IN. WE WILL PREVIEW THAT COMING UP. MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES, MILD TONIGHT, TEMPERATURES AROUND 64. LOOKING AT A BIT OF A BREEZE TOWARDS TOMORROW MORNING. ETH WIND STARTS TO KICK UP TOMORROW AFTERNOON. 82 FOR THE MTOS PART. IF WE WEREER U IT IS GOING TO ABE BIT BREYEZ THROUGH THE AFTERNOON ESPECIALLY. THEN THE RAIN DOES ARRIVE LATER ON IN THE DAY. THISS I 6:00 MONDAY EVENING. STILL DRY. I DON’T TNKHI ANY SHOWER IS IMPACTING THE EVENING DRIVE. 8:00 AND 9:00, STARTING TO SEE SOME SHOWERS ROLLING IN. THERE’S A CHAENC WE COULD SEE STRONG TO SEVERE WEATHER FOR CENTRAL INDIANA. GOOD NEWS ABOUT THE STORM’S ARRIVAL HERE, BECAUSE IT HAPPENS AFRTE SUNSET, A LOT OF THAT ENERGY GOES AWAY. OPPORTUNITIES FOR THUNDERSTORMS FOR INDIANA COMMUNITIES. NOTICE WHAT HAPPENS TOWARD MIIGDNHT. THIS STARTS TO FALL ARAPT. WE ARE LOOKING AT GENERAL RAIN SHOWERS BETWEEN MIDNIGHT AND HOURS LLFOOWING THAT .A LOT OF THE RAIN SHOWER ACTIVITY IS GONE BY 6:00 OR 7:00 IN THE MORNING TUESDAY. BY 90,:0 WE SHOULD BE RELATIVELY RAIN FREE. YOUR SEVEN-DAY FORECAST BRINGS DRY CONDITIONSOR F TUESDAY AFTERNOON. TEMPERATURES SHOULD BE IN THE 70’S THAT DAY. A BIT WARMER MIX OF SUNSHINE AND CLOUDS. THURSDAY, SCATTERED SHOWERS IN THE MORNING. FRIDAY, MORE NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND SOME RUMBLES OF THUNDER. THOSE COULD IMCTPA YOUR PLANS. THERE IS FALL, 60’

<p>July 2021 was the earth’s hottest month on record, according to data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The land and ocean surface temperatures were a combined 1.67 degrees above the average.</p>
<p>One city in the southwest region of the U.S. is looking at solutions to help keep the ground cooler.</p>
<p>“It looks basically like cured concrete,” said Ryan Stevens, a civil engineer with the City of Phoenix.<b> </b></p>
<p>Ryan Stevens and other engineers are trying to lower the temperature of the asphalt.<b> </b></p>
<p>“Really, it gives that illusion of putting on the product like sunscreen onto our roads, and that's really what it's doing is insulating our roads from the daytime solar energy," he said.</p>
<p>In nine areas across Phoenix, the city is piloting its "Cool Pavement Program." It’s a lighter coating on top of the roads already in place.</p>
<p>“It’s not paint. We hear people say, 'Well, you just painted your streets,' we didn't paint our streets. We actually used an asphalt-based product,” said Kini Knudson, director of Street Transportation for the City of Phoenix.</p>
<p>The program began last year and currently coats 36 miles of asphalt across the city.</p>
<p>“If it’s something that makes sense from an environmental climate perspective but also makes our pavement last longer, for me, it's a no-brainer,” he said.</p>
<p>“The idea is to keep the energy out of the pavement because at night the pavement is the last thing to cool down. About 30 to 40 percent of the urban area is paved surfaces,” Stevens said.</p>
<p>Paved surfaces contribute to similar problems in cities across the U.S. Larger populations and more buildings created a higher urban heat island index -- it’s a concept called the urban heat island effect.</p>
<p>“The urban heat island is a situation that has been studied for about 200 years. It happens because you have buildings that can store heat differently than the natural surface. So a building will hold onto heat and hold it on through the night, and what that does is it keeps the nighttime temperatures warmer so we have this situation where we’re not cooling off at night,” Erinanne Saffell, Arizona’s state climatologist, said.</p>
<p>“That energy, the sunlight comes down and is stored in the surfaces,” she explained. “The more reflective a surface, the less energy it’s going to store and so it's not going to be as hot.”</p>
<p>Saffell compares it to how a person might feel wearing a dark t-shirt in the hot sun.</p>
<p>“If you're wearing a light-colored shirt that reflects the heat, that's not going to get you as hot,” she said.</p>
<p>“We know that heat is a challenge for our community, we want our community to be comfortable,” Kate Gallego, the Mayor of Phoenix, said. “We’ve noticed it’s not getting as cool as night, we’re retaining a lot of heat.”</p>
<p>Results from the first year of the program show the cool pavement had an average surface temperature of 10.5 to 12 degrees Fahrenheit lower than regular asphalt at noon and during the afternoon hours. At all times of the day, the cool asphalt was cooler than traditional asphalt.</p>
<p>“That’s enough temperature distance or change that you can feel it if you're walking in a community,” Gallego said.</p>
<p>However, Stevens said it’s still being looked at how this impacts the air around the asphalt. </p>
<p>“The degree of which that air mixing, does it feel hotter or not, is something we still need to look at,” he said.</p>
<p>The city plans on trying different colors and shades as well.</p>
<p>Keeping buildings and asphalt lighter is something Steve Hamburg says has been used in design decisions for quite a while.</p>
<p>“If you go to the Mediterranean, you would never see dark roofs. You're always going to see light roofs, because they want to reflect the heat off the roofs so it doesn't warm the structure…people have been known to do that for thousands of years,” Steven Hamburg, chief scientist at the Environmental Defense Fund, said.</p>
<p>The project in Phoenix will continue to see what works best to mitigate the urban heat island effect and keep our planet cooler.</p>
<p>“It’s going to take a few more years to be able to fully evaluate the impact and the benefits of it,” Knudson said.</p>

The 2021 Nobel Prize in physiology and medicine has been awarded to David Julius and Ardem Patapoutian for their discoveries of receptors for temperature and touch. The two U.S.-based scientists received the accolade for describing the mechanics of how humans perceive hot, cold, touch and pressure through nerve impulses.Julius is a professor at the University of California, San Francisco. Patapoutian is a professor at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute at Scripps Research in La Jolla, California."Our ability to sense heat, cold and touch is essential for survival and underpins our interaction with the world around us," the Nobel Assembly said in a statement announcing the prize. The discoveries will be vital to the development of treatments for chronic pain and other conditions, said Professor David Paterson, president of The Physiological Society in the United Kingdom. "How we sense the temperature, touch and movement are some of the great questions for humanity," Paterson said.Thomas Perlmann, the secretary general of the Nobel Assembly, said the discovery "unlocks the secrets of nature ... It explains at a molecular level how these stimuli are converted into nerve signals. It's an important and profound discovery."Chili pepperThe starting point for the pair's groundbreaking discoveries was Julius' work with the humble chili pepper — or more specifically, capsaicin, the pungent compound that causes a burning sensation when we eat the peppers."It was a very clever thing to do because chili pepper, or capsaicin in the pepper, was known to trigger nerves or pain. David Julius thought it could lead to a breakthrough if we really understood the molecular mechanisms for how this occurs," Perlmann explained to CNN.Julius and his team created a library of millions of DNA fragments corresponding to genes that are expressed in the sensory neurons which can react to pain, heat and touch. They then plugged genes from this collection into cells that do not normally react to capsaicin to find the single gene that caused the sensitivity.Julius later realized this capsaicin receptor they discovered is also a heat-sensing receptor that is activated at temperatures that are perceived as painful, the Nobel Committee said."That was the route into these discoveries — the sensing mechanism for how nerves can actually be activated. When we encounter stimuli — temperature, mechanical, touch and pressure. The chili pepper was the handle but the discovery was much more profound than that," Perlmann said.Patapoutian's work led to the discovery of sensors in the skin and internal organs that respond to "mechanical stimuli" that are felt as touch and pressure. With his colleagues, he identified a cell line that reacted when its individual cells were poked with a micropipette. The team then identified 72 candidate genes that could be encoding receptors and "switched them off" one by one to discover the one responsible for mechanosensitivity.Abdel El Manira, an adjunct member of the Nobel Committee for Physiology and Medicine, said the discoveries were made more than a decade ago but were particularly poignant given the coronavirus pandemic."It's the right time (for it) to be recognized. It profoundly changed our view of how we sense the world ... In the last year, we have missed our sense of touch — during a hug for example. These are the receptors that give us the feeling of warmth and closeness," he said.'Holy grail'Mike Caterina, the Solomon H. Snyder professor of neurosurgery at John Hopkins School of Medicine, worked with Julius in his lab as a postdoctoral researcher in the mid-1990s when the first discoveries about capsaicin in chili peppers were made."It had been a holy grail in the pain field. People knew that this receptor existed but there was no molecular handle," Caterina said."The sensation that we get when we eat spicy food is something so familiar and it has such a personal and cultural significance to so many people and everyone has a hot food story and everyone has experienced painful heat."So for those two very tangible experiences to be explainable with one molecule is what really made that work exciting to us."

Sunshine as we go into tomorrow the next couple of days, this is a live look in Lebanon right now we've got clear skies out that way and we're going to continue to stay clear as we go through tonight, you might see a few passing high clouds as we go through the overnight hours. But that's about it right now, temperatures at 61 in Cincinnati Harrison, you are 57 Hillsborough, 62 wall in Kentucky at 59 and then up around mason, Hamilton and spring bro, we have the low sixties to high fifties so some varying temperatures. But we're all on our way to the fifties as we go through tonight. It's been a clean sweep for radar this evening. We have had those high thin clouds streaming through today but those have since cleared out at least for the most part we're going to be under the influence of high pressure here as we go through the next several days here, it's really going to be the dominating feature in our weather pattern here this week. We're not gonna see a whole lot of variation but those south winds over the next couple of days pulling in some of that warmer air to the greater Cincinnati area. So again, you might see some high clouds as we go through the next 24 hours. That's all future cast is really picking up on here. But sunshine is going to be the story here as we go through the first part of the week. So looking ahead to plenty of that I think monday night into Tuesday we could see a very brief, just a blip of a change in the weather pattern over the next seven days, we're going to focus on that here coming up. But forecast through tonight 58 degrees clear skies, not as chilly as we go through the overnight hours. So we're not going to feel as widespread of forties as we head into tomorrow morning and then for tomorrow afternoon sunshine, I think it's gonna be breezy tomorrow. We're gonna be looking at a windy day southwest winds at 5 to 15, but that's gonna be pulling in that warmer air. So we will be treated to more summer like temperatures as we go through the first couple of days in the new week. But again, I did mention that little blip in the forecast, that little change their monday night into Tuesday. So looking ahead, what's gonna happen here, we're gonna have a very small but brief wave of energy push over the greater Cincinnati era and I think it's going to have just enough to produce one or two showers as we go overnight monday into Tuesday, it looks like it's going to be more north into central Ohio. But I think there is a chance that some of that could clip the area, several models indicating that was looking like that, that's been the trend the last couple of days. But again, if we were to see anything that would be gone before the morning drive on Tuesday. So we're not looking at anything to impact your travel plans and especially into the afternoon on Tuesday things looking really dry there. So monday, dry Tuesday during the daytime dry could see a little spotty shower to monday night and Tuesday. But that's gonna be it for the next seven days here. We've got gorgeous weather, Wednesday, thursday, friday saturday and sunday I think just some scattered clouds there as we head towards the last part of the week, we're gonna be looking at temperatures to be pretty average, especially into friday afternoon through the weekend molly. All right.<br />
DAY TO WALK EVERY DAY THIS WEEK. MOLLIE: I LOVE TO HEAR TT.HA KATIE: THIS IS A LIVE LOOK AT LEBANON RIGHT NOW. WE HAVE CLEAR SKIES OUT THAT WAY AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO STAY CLEAR AWES GO THROUGH THE NIGHT. UYO MIGHT SEE A FEW HIGH, PASSING CLOUDS THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS, BUT THAT IS ABOUT IT. UP AROUND MASON, HAMILTON, AND SPRINGBORO, WE HAVE THEOW L 60’S TO HIGH 50’S, SO VARYING TEMPERATURES, BUT WE ARE ALL ON OUR WAY TO THE 50’S. IT HAS BEEN A CLEAN SWEEP FOR RADAR. WE HAVE HAD HIGH CLOUDS STREAMING THROUGH, BUT THOSE HAVE SINCE CLEARED OUT, AT LEAST FOR THE MOST PART. IT IS REALLY GOING TO BE THE DOMINATING FEATURE IN OUR WEATHER PATTERN THIS WEEK. WE WILL NOT SEE A WHOLE LOT OF VARIATION, BUT THE SOUTH WIND OVERHE T NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS PULLING IN SOME OF THAT WARM AIR TO THE GREATER CINCINNATI AREA. YOU MIGHT SEE SOME HIGH CLOUDS AS WE GO THROUGH THE NEXT 24 HOURS. THAT IS ALL FUTURECAST IS REALLY PICKING UP ON, BUT SUNSHINE IS GOING TO BEHE T STORY. LOOKING AHEAD TO PLENTY OF THAT. I THINK MONDAY NIGHTNT IO TUESDAY, WE COULD SEE A VERY BRIEF -- JUST A BLIP CHANGE IN THE WEATHER PATTERN. WE ARE GOING TO FOCUONS THAT COMING UP, BUT OUR FORECAST THROUGH TONIGHT, 58 DEGREES, CLEAR SKIES. WE ARE NOT GOING TO ELFE AS WIDESPREAD 40’S AS WE HAD INTO TOMORROW MORNING. TOMORROW AFTERNOON, SUNSHINE, I THINK IT IS GOING TO BE BREEZY TOMORROW. SOUTHWEST WIND AT FIVE TO 15, BUT THAT WILL BE PULLINGN I THAT WARMER AIR, SO WE WILL BE TREATED TO MORE SUMMER-LIKE TEMPERATURES AS WE GO THROUGH THE FIRST COUPLE OF DAYS IN THE NEW WE.EK I DID MENTION THAT LITTLE BLIP IN THE FORECAST, THAT LITTLE CHANGE MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY. WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A VERY SMALL BUT BRIEF WAVOFE ENERGY PUSH INTO THE GREATER CINCINNIAT AREA, AND I THINK IT WILL HAVE JUST EUGNOH TO PRODUCE ONE OR TWO SHOWERS AS WE GO OVERNIGHT MONDAY INTO TUESDAY. LOOKED LIKE IT IS GOING TO BE MORE NORTH INTO CENTRAL OHIO, BUT I THINK THERE IS A CHANCE SOME OF THAT COULD CLIP THE AREA. SEVELRA MODELS INDICATING THAT, AND THAT HAS BEEN THE TRENDHE T LAST COUPLE OF DAYS. AGAIN, IF WE WERE TO SEE ANYTHING, IT WOULD BE GONE BEFORE THE MORNING DRIVE ON TUESDAY. WE ARE NOT LOOKING AT ANYTHING TO IMPACT YOUR TRAVEL PLANS, ESPECIALLY INTO THE AFTERNOON TUESDAY. THINGS LOOKING REALLY DRY. MONDAY DRY. TUESDAY DURING THE DAYTIME, DRY. WE’VE GOT GORGEOUS WEAERTH WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, FRIDAY, SATURDAY, AND SUNDAY. I THINK JUST SOME SCATTERED CLOUDS AS WE HEAD TOWARDS THE LAST PART OF THE WEEK. WE WILL BE LOOKING AT TEMPERATUR

Residents at an apartment building in New Orleans say they were abandoned after Hurricane Ida knocked out electricity, and the property manager offered little to no assistance to the 40 or so low-income residents. Many are elderly and have acute health conditions that were exacerbated by the oppressive heat after the storm. Electricity was restored Thursday, but people who suffered through the heat are demanding answers."We went through a lot of pain and suffering, couldn't sleep, never got sleep or nothing, man," said Tyrone Webber, a resident at Boyd Manor.Residents depended on local community volunteers who brought them food, water and ice. Some of the volunteers had been inside the building's apartments and shared videos that showed water on the floor and leaks around window sills. The volunteers made patchwork repairs, but residents say they have not heard from the property manager about long-term solutions. "The landlord didn't come here, not one day. We was without lights and everything for 10 days, and she's going to come here today talking about she want rent," resident Yolanda Lewis said.National Baptist Housing and Economic Development own the property. Its chairman, who is also a local pastor, said he had evacuated from New Orleans for the hurricane and had not been to the residence since the storm. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development financed the property and pays 70% of the rent for tenants, who must qualify as low-income. This means residents did not have the means to evacuate on their own. However, a representative for the company that manages the building told sister station WDSU that the residents were given information to arrange their evacuation through the city's 311 service. Only one resident chose that option. The on-site manager has been to the building every day since Hurricane Ida and brought residents food and water, the representative said. Residents dispute that claim, saying volunteers and a council member have been their only sources of aid. One resident said the manager "snuck in through the backdoor." A community member said conditions were substandard before the hurricane. He, too, said property management has been absent in the storm's aftermath.Personnel is expected to be sent to complete an assessment of building damage. That process was hindered by the lack of electricity. There was no timeline given for when repairs would be made, but contractors are reportedly expected to be hired if the damages are extensive.Residents should not be expected to pay their portion of the rent in the immediate aftermath of the hurricane, a representative for the company said, adding that she was not aware that the onsite property manager had pressed tenants for payments. She also said she was not aware of residents' claims that problems such as mold, mildew and leaks were present before the storm.

AT THAT VIDEO VERY DIFFERENT. LET’S TKAL WEATHER. YEAH WEATHER BEAUTIFUL DAY TODAY. WE HAVE THOSE BLUE SKIES, AND IT WAS JU NICEST TO BE ABLE TO HAVE THAT FOR THOSE THAT WEREUT O REMEMBERING THIS AFTERNOON. BUT AS WE GO THROUGH THE WEEKEND, WE’RE GOING TO BE LOOKING AHEAD TO THOSE HAZY CONDITIONS A LOT OF HEAT AND WE’RE ACTUALLY SEEING THAT HAZE MOVE IN RIGHTOW N ON OUR CAMERA HERE IN LEBANON MILKY SKY AND THAT’S WHAT WE’RE GONNAE B SEEING AS WE GO THROUGH THE WEEKEND ACTUALLY PROBABLY GONNA SEE A VERY VIV SUNSET THESE NEXT COUPLE OF NIGHTS. WE HAVE A LOT OF SUN ACROSS THE REGION BUT WHEN YOUET G THAT SMEOK BLOWING IN IT TYPICALLY ALLOWS FOR SOME VERY VIBRANT REDS AND ORANGES. SO LOOKOR F THAT AS WE GO THROUGH THESE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS HIGH PRESSURE IS GOING TO BE KEEPING US DRY HERE ACROSS THE MIDWEST, BUT WE’RE ON THE WESTERN SIDE OF THAT HIGH NOW, SO IT’S STARTING TO NUDGE OFF TO THE EAST HERE AND WHEN WE GET ON THE WEST SIDE OF HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEMSN I THIS PART OF THE COUNTRY IT ALLOWS FOR SOUTHERLY WINDS THOSE SOUTH WINDSAP T INTO HEAT AND HUMIDITY WAY FURTHER SOUTH AND THAT PULLS IT UP INTO THE OHIO VALLEY. THINGSRE A GOING TO FEEL REALLY SUMMERY HERE OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS FUTURECAST ASE W GO THROUGH THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS HERE SHOWS CLEARING SKIES. WE DID HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF CLOUD COVER OUT THERE, BUT THAT WILL GO AWAY AS WE GO PAST SUNSET AND I TNKHI AS WE GO INTO TOMORROW SOME SCATTERED CLOUDS AT TIMES, BUT MORE LIKELY SOME FILTERED SUNSHINE. SO THOSEAZ HY SUNNY CONDITIONS AS WE GO INTO THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS. SO IF YOU ARE OUT TOMORROW THINGSRE A GONNA LOOK REALLY NICE LEAST IN THE WAY OF CLOUD COVER, BUT IT’S GONNA BE PRETTY HOT. SO BSUE RE TO STAY. HYDRATED, OF COURSE WHERE THAT SUNSCREEN TOMORROW AND MAYBE FIND SOME AC OR LOOKING AT SOME HEAT INDEX READINGS IN THE LOW 90S. AFTERNOON, IT STAYS PRETTY WARM INTO SUNDAY NIGHT AS WELL. A WILDFIRE SMO IKES GOING TO BE A BIG PART OF OUR FORECAST THIS WEEKEND AGAIN THATIL WL CONTINUE TO FILTER IN HERE AS WE GO THROUGH TONIGHT AND INTO TOMORROW. WE’RE NOT LOOKING AT SMOKE AT THE SURFACE. SOMETIMES IT CAN MAKE ITS WAY DOWN TOHE T SURFACE MAKE THINGS PRETTY SMOKY HERE GROUND LEVEL. THIS WILL ALL STAY ALOFT. BUT AGAIN THAT WILL ALLOW FOR FILTERED SUNSHINE AS WE GO THROUGH THE WEEKEND. SO LOOKING AT THAT AT LEAST INTO MONDAY POSSIBLY EVEN TUESDAY AS WE GO THROUGH TONIGHT TEMPERATURES ARE GOING TO BE WARMER. BECAUSE IT’S GOING TO BE BREEZIER TONIGHT. WE’RE LOOKING AT A SOUTH WIND OF 10 TO 15 MILES PER HOUR. SO HIGH 60S TO AROUND 70 TONIGHT AND THEN TOMORROW FORECASTING 90 HERE IN CINCINNATI. WE’RE GONNA HAVE TO SEE HOW MUCH HAZE WE GET SOMETIMES WHEN YOU GET A LOT OF HAZE IN THE ATMOSPHERE CAN ACTUALLY MAKE IT PRETTY DIFFICULTO T WARM TO THAT 90 DEGREE MARK, BUT WE’RE GONNA STICK WITH THAT RIGHT NOW, BUT I THKIN A LOT OF HIGH 80S OUTSIDE THE DOWNTOWN AREA. IT’S GONNA BE QUITE BREEZY TOMORROW. I THINK SOME GUSTS AROUND 25 MILES PER HOUR. HERE’S YOUR 7-DAY FORECTAS FOR LOOKING AT THOSE BREEZY CONDITIONS TOMORROW. ALONG WITH THAT HAYES. HAY STICKING WITH US INTO MONDAY, BUT MONDAY NOT GOING TO BE AS BREEZY. I THINK THERES I A POTENTIAL FOR SOME LOW 90S AS WE HEAD INTO MONDAY AND TUESDAY RIGHT NOW. WE’RE STICKING WITH THAT 89 DEGREE MARK AND THEN AS WE GO INTO WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY, WE’VE GOT A CDOL FRONT COMING IN RIGHT NOW THAT’S EXPECTED TO BRING US SOME SCATTERED STORMS A LITTLE BIT OF RAIN, BUT COOLER HIGHS WITH THAT AS

And cool down because you step outside and it's just like a sweat. I know, not good. Yeah, I was outside for 10 minutes with my daughter today and I said we've got to go back inside us way too much money to shower now we need to shower. So we're not gonna be seeing any relief from the heat this week. Unfortunately, that is gonna be sticking with us as we head into the next several days and those heat index readings are going to be a big problem. We're gonna take a live look out in Lebanon to start things off here. Got a little bit of cloud cover out there, some puffy cumulus clouds. I think they're going to be hard pressed to really grow a whole lot today. But I think we could see an isolated shower too as we head through the last part of this evening. A couple more hours of opportunities for that. All we're seeing right now in Kent County is really just a very light shower around kenton pinar morning view. So these aren't gonna go anywhere very quickly. We don't have a ton of wind today. So some very light showers, Maybe a locally heavy downpour if we can get one of those clouds to grow tall enough this afternoon, but really weak cold front here, not allowing for a lot of opportunities for that. It's going to try to make its way in warm front will eventually start to lift north as we head into the next couple of days. So that's gonna keep us in that really hot air mass as we head into the new week. Future cash showing what's going to happen with some rain chances over the next couple of days here I think. Clear as we head through tonight. Maybe some high thin clouds. But that's about it. And I think that sunshine does stay with us as we head into tomorrow afternoon and evening. Monday should actually be a nice dry day. This model kicking out a couple of spotty sprinkles in the afternoon. Might have a little bit of cloud cover for the late part of the day. But a lot of us staying dry through monday and now it actually looks like Tuesday going to be a pretty quiet afternoon for us. More heat and humidity and some sunshine forecast overnight tonight. Mostly clear and monkey. I think we dropped around 70 degrees. Some rural areas getting to the high sixties as we head through tonight. And then for tomorrow about 91. But that heat index when you factor in that humidity, it's going to feel more like the mid 90s. And I think there will be cities. Let's see those triple digit heat index readings again tomorrow. And that's just gonna be the picture here over the next several days. We're not going to get rid of those nineties. I think it really just here to stay just heats up more through Wednesday. It's a triple digit heat index. Reading some stronger storms possible by Wednesday afternoon, pauline Curtis. All right. Thanks a lot. Well, the reds tonight. Mm. Mhm.

ALRIGHT, LET’S TURN OUR ATTENTION TO THE WEATHER IF YOU WERE OUT AND ABOUT THIS WEEKEND, YOU KNOW HOW MUGGYT I WAS AND JUST I DON’T KNOW IF THAT’S A SCIENTIFIC WORD, BUT IT’S TIME OUTSIDE. SURE. OH, YEAH. I DON’T WANT TO SPEND A LOT OF TIME OUTSIDE AT ALL. ANID THINK EVERYONE’S GONNA BE FEELING THAT HERE IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS, BUT GOT 31 DAYS TILL FALL. CAN’T WAIT FOR THAT. I LOVE THAT COUNTDOWN. YEAH. I KNOW I’M GONNA KEEP RINEMDING EVERYBODY ESPECIALLY WHEN IT GETS THIS HIDE. SO WE’RE GONNA BE LOOKING AHEAD TO THATHE WTHER A CHANGE HERE AS WE HEAD INTO THE NEXT MONTH TAKING A LIVE LOOK OUTSIDE RIGHT NOW. DOWNTOWN CINCINNATI. WE’VE GOT MAINLY CLEAR SKIES RIGHT NOW AND WE WILL STAY UNDER THOSE CLEAR CONDITIONSS A WE GO THROUGH TONIGHT. SO THAT’S GOING TO MEAN A LOT OF SUNSHINE STARTING THINGS OUT TOMORROW AND WHEN YOU KNOW GET THE MORNING SUN IT TYPICALLY HEATS THINGS UP PRETTY QUICKLY THIS TIME OF THE YEAR LIVE RADAR RIGHT NOW ALL IS QUIET HERE ACROSS THE GREATER CINCINNATI AREA AND IT WILL SYTA THAT WAY THROUGH TONIGHT TOMORROW AND TOIN MONDAY. WE’RE NOT LOOKING AT ANYTHING IN THE WAY OF SIGNIFICANT RAIN CHANSCE AT LEAST UNTIL THE LATE WEEK. WE’VE GOT HIGH PRESSURE OVER. HEAD RIGHTOW N THAT IS KEEPING THINGS REAYLL HIGH THAT WARM FRONT REINFORCING THAT WARM AIR REHE AS IT LIFTS NORTH INTOHE T FIRST PART OF THE WORK WEEK. SO THINGS REALLY STAYING HOT AND STICKY AROUND HERE. AND AGAIN, WE’RE REALLY NOT GOING TO SEE ANY KIND OF RAIN. SAYS AT LEAST FORHE T NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. I THINK WHAT WE DO SEE TOMORROW IS A LITTLE BIT OF AFTERNOON CLOUD COVER NOT A TON, BUT YOU CAN SEE IT SHOW UP HERE ON OUR FUTURECAST ONCE WE GO PAST NINE O’CLOCK TOMORROW MORNING. WE’VEOT G A COUPLE OF CLOUDS BUBBLING UP IN THE HEAT OF THE DAY. IT’S MODEL WANTS TO BRING A FEW STRAY SHOWERS OR SPRINKLE IN AS WE HDEA TOWARDS THREE FOUR CLOCK IN THE AFTERNOON. I SAY MAINLY DRY. I THINK WHAT IT’S PICKING UP ON IS THAT CLOUD COVER DEVELOPING SO WE’RE GONNA LOOK FOR THAT THROUGH THE EVENING DSOE BRING A LITTLE BIT MORE CLOUD COVER IN THROUGH NINE O’CLOCK AT NIGHT ON MONDAY, I THINK. CAN PARTLY CLOUDY AT SOME POINT DURING THE EVENING HOURS AND THEN WE’RE GONNA START TO SEE THINGS STAY PARTLY CLOUDY TO MOSTLY CLEAR AS WE HAD THROUGH THE DAYTIME ON TUESDAY OVERNIGHT TONIGHT. MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES MUGGY CONDITIONS STICKING WITH US THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT TEMPERATURES RIGHT AROUND 70 DEGREES AND I THINK A LOT OF US WAKING UP TO THOSE HIGH 60S TO LOW 70S TOMORROW MORNING AND THEN TOMORROW AFTERNOON VERY HUMID HOT SUNSHINE HIVE ABOUT 90, BUT THE FEELS LIKE TEMPERATURE IS GOING TO BE SITTING IN THE MID 90S AND THAT’S GONNA BE THE BIG PROBLEM FOR TSHI WEEK. WE’VE GOT THAT HUMIDITY HANGING ON WITH THOSE 90 DEGREE TEMPERATURES. SO AS WE GO INTO TUESD,AY WEDNESDAY AND POSSIBLY EVEN THURSDAY THAT HEAT INDEX IS ALL GOING TO CONTINUE TO CLIMB. SO WE’RE LOOKING AT A POSSIBLE TRIPLE DIGIT HEAT IEXND READINGS. I WOULD SAY ALMOST GUARANTEED AT THIS POINT TUESDAY WEDNESDAY AND POSSIBLY EVEN INTO THURSDAY. SO JUST PNLA ON SOME PRETTY INTENSE HEAT THERE. WE’RE LOOKING AT WEATHER IMPACT DAYS F BOROTH WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. SO THOSE ARE GOING TO BE OUR THREE STORMIEST DAYS HERE OVER. NEXT SEVEN DAYS. I THINK WEDNESDAY COULD BRING A STRAY STRO SNGTORM, BUT IT LOOKS LIKE MOST OF THAT IS JUST GOING TO BE GENERAL SUMRME SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY AND AS WE HEAD INTO SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, WE’VE GOT THE HIGH 80S MAINLY DRY RIGHT NOW, RLLEAY NOT SEEING ANY KIND OF RELIEF FROM THE HEAT OUR COOLEST DAY THIS WEEK. IT’S GONNA BE FRIDAY WITH A

I KNOW YOU’VE BEEN KPIEENG AN EYE ON THIS THROUGHOUT THE THE EVENING FOR SO WHAT’S THE LATEST? YEAH, SO THE LATEST A HURRICANE ON RE RIGHT NOW 75 MILE PER HOUR WINDS. I’'S MOVING NORTHEAST AT ABOUT 15 TO 20, BUT IT ITIS SLL EXPECTED TO MAKE LAND FALL AS WE HEAD INTO TOMORROW AFTERNOON UP NEAR LONG ISLAND. SO TAKING A LOOK AT WHERE THAT TRACK IS HEADED HERE. WE’LL ZOOM NORTH TOWARDS THE LONG ISLANDRE AA RIGHT NOW. THEY’RE EXPECTING IT TO BE A TROPICAL STORM BY THE TIME IT MAKES IT TO LONG ISLAND, BUT STILL PACKING. OF 70 MILE AN HOUR WINDS. THAT IS NO JE.OK WE’RE GONNA HAVE A LOT OF RAINFALL WITH THIS AGAIN THOSE GUSTY WINDS AS THIS COMES ASHORE. YOU HEARD ANYWHERE BETWEEN FOUR AND EIGHT INCHES, BUT WE COULD SEE LOCALLY HIGHOT TALS OF UP TO 10 AND SOME OF THESE AREAS UP HERE. FSOLOODING IS GOING TO BE A MAJOR PROBLEM THERE FOR THE NORTHEAST AS FOR US HERE. WE ARE LOOKING AT MAINLY CLEAR SKIES. WE’VE GOT A LITTLE BIT OF HIGH THIN CLOUD COVER ON OUR LIVE RADAR THIS EVENING AND SATELLITE BUT LOOKING AT THE WIDER PICTURE YOU CAN SEE A COLD FRONT . THE WEST THERE THAT’S SCHEDULED TO HEAD OUR WAY AS WE HEAD INTO TOMORROW AFTERNOON AND EVENING AND AS IT MOVES IN I THINK IT WILL KICK OFF A COUPLE OF SHOWERS, MAYBE A RUMBLE OR TWO OF THUNDER. WE’RE NOT LOOKING AT WIDESPREAD RAINFALL OUT OF THAT, BUT CERTAINLY THE CHANCE FOR SOME HIT AND MISS SHOWERS EVEN SOME STORMS INTO TOMORROW AFTERNOON AND EVENING. SO WE’LL PUT ALL THAT INTO MOTION FOR YOU IN YOUR FUTURE CAST YOU CHOAN TSE CLEAR SKIES THROUGH TOMORROW MORNING WHAT THIS MODEL IS NOT PICKING UP ON IS A LTLITE BIT OF PATCHY FOG. I THINK IN LOW-LYING AREAS. WE’LL SEE SOME FOG TO START OUT TOMORROW MORNING. THAT’LL GO AWAY BY ABOUT EIGHT OR NINE AND THEN WE’RE LOOKING AT THA HTOT SUNSHINE UP UNTIL ABOUT LUNCH NOW BETWEEN NOON AND SIX I THINK THAT’S WHEN THOSE CLOUDS ARE GOING TO START TO BUBBLE UP A BIT IN THE HEAT OF THE DAY AGAIN, WE SHOULD NOT SEE WIDESPREAD COVERAGE FOR STORMS, BU HTIT AND MISS DOWNPOURS, MAYBE A RUMBLE OR TWO OF THUNDER AS WE HEAD TOWARDS SIX O’CLOCK. YOU CAN SEE THIS MODEL KICKING OUT SO OF SHOWERS AND STORMS AS WE HEAD TOWARDS THAT TIME FRAME. I’D BE PRETTY SURISPRED IF WE SAW ANY LINGERING AFTER SUNSET SO FOLLOWING SUNSET THINGS REALLY START TO CLEAR OUT AGAIN. WE’RE GOING TO GET RID OF THOSE CLOUDS AND THEN WE’RE GOI TNGO GETAC BK UNDER THOSE QUIET CONDITIONS INTO EARLY MONDAY MORNING MONDAY SCHEDULED TO BE ANOTHER REALLY HOT AND HUMID DAY OVERNIGHT TONIGHT. PRETTY MUGGY. WE’VE GOT TEMPERATURES IN THE HIGH 60S TO LOW 70S CINCINNATI. IT’S 70 DEGREES HARRISON 68. WE’VE GOT 68 IN WILMINGTON HILLSBOROUGH AT 67 FALMOUTH AND BROOKSVILLE. WE’VE GOT 67 FREE AS WELL AND THEN FOR TOMORROW AFTERNOON PRETTY CLOSE TO 90 DEGREES. I WOULDN’T BE SURPRISED IF SOME OF US SEEING 90 DEGREE READING OR TWO, BUT RIGHT NOW OUR FORECASTING 89 FOR CINCINNATI 89 IN LOVELAND, WE’VE GOT ABOUT THAT IN MASON HARRISON YOU GET TO 89 AND DILLSBORO. WE’VE GOT 87 DEGREES, BUT WHEN YO U FACTOR IN THE HIDUMITY, WE’RE LOOKING AT THINGS TO FEEL A LOT STICKIER TOMORROW, I THINK ABOUT 95 FOR THAT FEELS LIKE TEMPERATURE. OUR AFTERNOON POSSIBLY EVEN A BIT WARMER AS WE HAD TOWARDS THE SECOND HALF OF THEEE WK HERE THOSE 90S AND HIGH 80. DON’T GO ANYWHERE ANYTIME SOON. SO ’E'RE LOOKING AT THATEA HT THROUGH AT LEAST THURSDAY. I THINK DAILY CHANC FESOR STORMS TUESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY RIGHT NOW. LOOKS LIKE WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY ARE GOING TO BE OUR BESTET BS FOR SOME STORMS COULD SEE SOME STRONGER STORMS. MAYBE L AOW END SEVERE STORM. EITHER OF THOSE DAYS. WE’LL KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON THAT, BUT IT LOOKS LIKE OUR COOLEST DAY OF OUR SEVEN DAY STRETCH IS GOIN TGO BE FRIDAY 83 DEGREES. THAT’S AS GOOD AS IT GETS AND WE’RE BACK TO THE HIGH 80S AGA

GOOD LUCK TO THEM. WE HAD RAIN EARLIER, WE SAW THAT IN THE STORY ABOUT THE WESTERN DAN SOUTHERN, BUT THE REST OF THE DAY WAS NOT BAD AT ALL. KATIE: WE HASPD RINKLES, OVERCAST SKIES BUT IT WILL COOL TODAY. THAT IS GOING TO CHANGE THROUGH THE REST OF THIS WEEK,E W ARE LOOKING AT THE RETURN OF HEAT AND HUMIDITY. A LIVE LOOK AT DEARBORN OVERCAST SKIES THIS AFTERNOON, AND A FEW SPRINKLES ON RADAR. MOST OF THIS EVENING SHOULD BE PRETTY QUIET. THAT WILL CHANGE THROUGH TONIGHT. COMFORTABLE CONDITIONS, QUIET CONDITIONS, A LOT OF CUDLO COVER AND AOU CPLE OF SPRINKLES ON OUR SATELLITE AND RADAR THIS AFTERNOON. FURTHER SOUTH WE HAVE GOT THIS STATIONARY FRONT. THIS IS A FRONT NOT MOVING. IT WILL EVENTUALLY START TO LIFT NORTH AS A WARM FRONT. IT IS HOLDING BACK WMAR AIR, ALSO HOLDING BACK HUMIDITY. SHOWERS, STORM YOUR CONDITIONS ON THE SOUTHERN SIDE OF THAT FRONT, RIGHT NOW WE ARE UNDER HIGH PRESSURE AND THAT IS KEEPING THINGS COMFORTABLE. THROUGH TONIGHT, SHOWERS AND STORMS MOVING BACK INTO THE AREA. WE COULD SEE A COUPLE OF RUMBLES OF THUNDER, BUT MOST OF THIS WILL BE LIKE RAINFALL THAT STARTS AFTER MIDNIGHT TONIGHT. SCATTERED LIGHT SHOWERS ACROSS THE GREATER CINCINNATI AREA. WE ARE LOOKING AT SOME TOWARD THE MORNING DRIVE TOMORROW. IT WILL NOT BE HEAVY, BUT A COUPLE OF YOU WILL HAVE TO USE YOUR WINDSHIELD WIPERS, IT YMA BE PACKED THE RAIN JACTKE -- MAYBE PACK THE RAIN JACKET. WE COULD SEE THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING SOMETIME BETWEEN NOON AND 30.:0 COVERAGE NOT LOOKING TOO TERRLYIB HIGH TOWARD THE LAST PART OF THE DAY, BUT THOSE SHOWERS WILL BE OUT THERE, SO IF YOU HAVE LATE DAY PLANS BE AWARE OF THAT. THOSE WILL STICK AROUND THROUGH 6:00, AND WE ARE LOOKING AT ISOLATED ACT COMMITTEE -- ACTIVITY. A RUMBLE OF THUNDER POSSIBLE, BUT MOST OF US JUST SEEING RAIN, OVERNIGHT LOWS AROUND 65°. THIS WILL BE OUR LAST DAY IN THE 70’S, SCATTERED SHOWERS, THUNDER, AND IT WILL BECOME QUITE HUMID THE REST OF THE WEEK. THERE IS THE ONE FRIEND THAT LIVES NORTH OF THE AREA TOMORROW AFTERNOON. AS WE GO THROUGH MONDAY THINGS WILL BECOME A LOT REMO STICKY. IT WILL START TO SETTLE IN WEDNESDAY. ALL OF THAT HUMIDITY WILL WORK ITS FUEL FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS THIS WEEK. WE HAVE DAILY CHANCES FOR STORMS. NEXT SATURDAY DO

<p>As temperatures hovered in the 90s Thursday — and the heat index making it feel even hotter — Terry Vance feels lucky the city of Wilder, Kentucky, has a brand new splash pad to help keep people cool who don't have access to air conditioning.</p>
<p>"A lot of people have found it," said Vance, an administrator for the city. "A lot of people we've got, you know, even field trips coming to it... A lot of people are beating the heat by using it."</p>
<p>Vance isn't alone in using city assets to help people avoid dangerously hot temperatures. Across the Ohio River, City of Cincinnati officials opened its rec center lobbies to anyone who needs a break from the heat. People without air conditioners or homes to shelter in were welcome to take refuge indoors.</p>
<p>Christine Schuermann, with Saint Francis Seraph Ministries, said people experiencing homelessness can become especially vulnerable to heat-related health issues and that keeping them cool poses a perennial challenge.</p>
<p>"So this morning at breakfast, everybody got bottled water when they left," she said. "We took water over to the shelter house; we took water over to the church next door. We have water outside our door today."</p>
<p>Schuermann said she's hopeful the "cooling centers" will assist their efforts, too, but acknowledged that the same challenges her ministry faces during more mild weather still persist in hot days.</p>
<p>"It's always a challenge, especially with those that are chronically homeless, to encourage them to seek help in a facility," she said. "All the various services that are available to them, there's just — there's always a challenge with trust in whether or not they trust enough to take advantage of the services."</p>
<p>Anyone seeking assistance in escaping the heat can also reach out to the <a class="Link" href="https://www.cincy-caa.org/what-we-do/supportive-services/utility-assistance-programs/summer-crisis-program.html">Community Action Agency</a>.</p>

MOLLIEIT’S NICE TO SEE FESTIVALS COME BACK, WHEN I FIRST MOVED HERE I S SHOCKED THAT CINCINNATI IS THE CITY OF A THOUSAND FESTIVALS, ONE EVERY WEEK. COURTIS: TWO OR THREE. MOLL: THERE’S ALWAYS SOME THING TO DO, AND EVEN THOUGH IT’S HOT WE WERE DRY, WE HAAD LONG STRETCH OF RAIN. ALLISON: TOMORROW WE HAVE THE INRA CHANCE BACK IN THE FORECAST, SO I’M WATCHING FOR THE LINE TO DROP SOUTH OVERNIGHT. IT IS QUITE ON THE RADAR RIGHT NOW AND I EXPECTED TO STAY THAT WAY FOR THE MOST PART FOR THE REST OF THIS EVENING AT LEAST, OVERNIGHT TONIGHT I CAN’T RULE OUT A STRAY SHOWER ROLLING THROUGH. YOU CAN SEE RAIN MAKING ITSAY W THROUGH THE INDIANAPOLIS MRO, I’M EXPECTING THOSE SHOWERTOS FALL APART AS THEY APPROACH RITTER CINCINNATI, SO I’M NOT CONCERNED WITH THAT AREA OF RAIN RIGHT ERTH HOWEVER, I AM WATCHING THIS COLD FRONT. ISTH WILL DROP SOUTH OVERNIGHT, BRINGING RAIN CHANCES AND A STORM CHANCE IS THROUGHOUT THE DAY TOMORROW. THIS WILL DIVE SOUTHOR US AND THAT IS GOING TO LEAD TO SOME -- THUNDERSTORMS TOMORROW, NOT A WASHOUT BUT PONTTEIAL THATE W COULD HAVE STRONG STORMS. THE HEAT INDEX IS GOING TO BE ANOTHER GBI HEADLINE IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. NOT JUST TOMORROW, IT WAS HIGH TODAY BUT TOMORROW IT WILL BE HIGH AS WELL. THIS NEXT WEEK, I’M WATCHING FOR US TO REACH UPPER 90’S AT TIMES, EVEN NEARING TRIPLE DIGITS BY THE END OF THE WEEK. WE ARE GOING TO STAY MOSTLY DRY ONCE WE GET THIS ONE ROUND OF RAIN OUT OF HERE. WE WILL START TO DRY OUT FOR A COUPLE MORE DAYS BEFORE MORE RAIN ARRIVES BY THE END OF THE WEEK. FOR THE REST OF TONIGHT, YOU CAN SEE FUTURECAST POIINNT OUTOU CAN THOSE SHOWERS MOVING THROUGH INDIANAPOLIS. AGAIN, WE LLWI BE RELATIVELY DRY HERE, WE MIGHT SEE A STRAY SPNKRILE OR TWO AS THOSE FADE BUT DRY FORHE T METRO AND OUR SUBURBS. TOMORROW MORNING, ELYAR ON WE WILL HAVE SOME DOWNPOURS MOVING THROUGH. THIS WILL BEHE T INITIAL ROUND OF RAIN WE WILL SEE WITH THE FRONT MOVING THROUGH. I’M EXPECTING DOWNPOURS. AS WE GET INTO THE AFTERNO,ON WE COULD S STORMS BECOMING STRONGER. I’M NOT EXPECTING WIDESPREAD SEVERE WEATHER, BUT THERE IS CHANCE THAT WE CAN HAVE ONE OR TWO BRING IN SOME GUYST WIND. SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE AROUND TOMORROW AFTERNOON, THIS IS GOING TO HAVE AN IMPACT YOUR DAY. TOMORROW IS GOING TO BE A WEATHER IMPACT DAY. THESE STORMS WRAP UP TOMORROW EVENING AND BY SDAUNY INTO MONDAY WWIE LL BE DRY. HEAVY RAINLLFA IS GOING TO BE A MEDIUM THREAT FOR TOMORROW, SAME WITH GUSTY WIND. LIGHTNING A LIKELY IMPACT BUT SEVERE SRMTO POTENTIAL IS LOW, BUT NOT ZERO. HE COULD STILL HAVE SEVERE STORMS TOMORROW, MORE OF AN ISOLATED CASE. TEMPERATURES RIGHT NOW, YOU KNOW IT IS HOT OUTSIDE WHEN THE TEMPERATURE MATCHES MY RED DRESS, 85 IN CINCINNATI, 87 IN ALEXANDRIA, 87 IN LOVENDLA TONIGHT, TEMPERATURES FALL IN THE LOW 80’S FOTHE EVENING, STAYING HOT AND HUMID THIS EVENING, THAT WILL BE THE CASE FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL. TOMORROW, WEATHER IMPACT DAY, HIGH TEMPERATURES DESTE RAIN MAKING IT INTO THE UPPER 80’S, CHEC OKUT THE STRCHET OF 90’S FOR NEXT WEEK. SOME HOT WEATHER HEADED O WURAY AS WE HEAD INTO NEXT WEEK. THURSDAY IS THE DAY I AM EYEING RFO THE HEAT INDEX PRETTY HIGH, EVEN NEARING 100.

<p>MIAMI — The Miami Heat said Tuesday night that Meyers Leonard will be away from the team indefinitely, sharply criticizing his use of an anti-Semitic slur while playing a video game that was being livestreamed. </p>
<p>Leonard used the slur while livestreaming a first-person shooter game on Tuesday night.</p>
<p>"The Miami Heat vehemently condemns the use of any form of hate speech,'' the Heat said in a statement on Tuesday. "The words used by Meyers Leonard were wrong and we will not tolerate hateful language from anyone associated with our franchise. To hear it from a Miami Heat player is especially disappointing and hurtful to all those who work here, as well as the larger South Florida, Miami Heat and NBA communities.''</p>
<p>Leonard issued an apology on <a class="Link" href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CMN-G35DdD9/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Instagram</a> and said he did not know what the word he used meant at that time. </p>
<p>"I am deeply sorry for using an anti-Semitic slur during a livestream yesterday," Leonard wrote. "While I didn't know what the word meant at the time, my ignorance about its history and how offensive it is to the Jewish community is absolutely not an excuse and I was just wrong. I am now more aware of its meaning and I am committed to properly seeking out people who can help educate me about this type of hate and how we can fight it.</p>
<p>An NBA spokesman said the league “unequivocally condemns all forms of hate speech.”</p>
<p>The NBA is currently in the midst of its All-Star Break. ESPN reports that the team was scheduled to resume workouts on Wednesday. The Heat will take the court next against the Orlando Magic on Thursday.</p>
<p>Leonard is currently in the midst of his ninth year in the NBA. He's only appeared in three games for Miami so far this season.</p>

TYPES OF THINGS THIS WEEK. THAT’S WE’RE GOING TO SEE A RAIN. WE’RE GOING TO SEE A CICADAS. HE WILL SEE HEAT. YES EVEN HUMIDITY, AND I WAS MAKING SURE YOU’RE GETTING THOSE CICADAS IN THERE BECAUSE I THINK THE NEXT DAY REALLY IS GOING TO BE THE WEEK WHERE WE SEE THEM EMERGE AND THEN WE JUST EVERYONE JUST LIKE WRITING YOU AND SENDING YOU EMAILS AND EVERYTHING. YEAH. OH MY GOODNESS. YES, SO I’VE HAD REPORTS OF CICADAS. I WAS JUST SAYING NOT TOO LONG AGO. WE NEED LIKE A LITTLE CICADA ICON SO THAT WE CAN P REPORTS FROM NORTH AVONDALE GALLATIN COUNTY, KENTUCKY ANDERSON TOWNSHIP IS WHERE I’VE SEEN A LOT OF THOSE REPORTS ASSOCIATED COMING AND HAVEN’T SEEN TOO MANY FROM THE WEST SIDE THOUGH. BUT OF COURSE IF YOU SEE CICADAS SEND US OUR YOUR PICTURES BECAUSE WE LOVE TO SEE IT. ALL RIGHT, SO WE HAVE A DRY SKY RIGHT NOW, BUT WE WILL START TO SEE SOME RAIN MOVING IN HERE. OUR MORNING AND THAT RAIN IS GOING TO BE AROUND FOR A LOT OF THE MORNING COMMUTE SO PLAN ON THAT POTENTIAL FOR SOGGY MORNING COMMUTE. YOU MAY WANT TO LEAVE A LITTLE EARLY IN THE MORNING COULD HAVE SOME POCKETS OF HEAVY RAINFALL EVEN POSSIBLY SOME THUNDERSTORMS AS WELL AS A FRONT SLOWLY MOVES INTO GREATER CINCINNATI OVER THE NEXT 24 HOURS AND EVEN 48 TOO. SO FOR TOMORROW RAIN CHANCES HIGHEST IN THE MORNING AGAIN, THIS IS WHEN WE SEE SOME OF THE MORE WIDESPREAD RAIN AND THEN AS WE GET INTO THE AFTERNOON THE START TO BECOME A LITTLE BIT LESS IN COVERAGE. WE WON’T SEE AS MANY MORE SCATTERED AND THEN EVEN SOME STRAY SHOWERS POSSIBLE FROM THE AFTERNOON INTO THE EVENING AND THEN RAIN CHANCES START TO GO UP JUST A LITTLE BIT MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY MORNING, AND WE’LL SEE RAIN SCATTERED THROUGHOUT THE DAY TUESDAY AS WELL. SO THE FIRST TWO DAYS OF THIS WORK WEEK WILL BE THE RAINIEST OR THE SOGGY IS TWO DAYS OF THE WORK WEEK AND THEN WE START TO SEE THINGS DRYING OUT AND THEN THAT’S WHEN WE START TO GET WARMER AND THEN EVEN HUMID AT TIMES ESPECIALLY DURING SECOND HALF OF THE WEEK. SO FOR THE REST OF TONIGHT MOSTLY DRY UP UNTIL ABOUT FIVE OR SIX O’CLOCK IN THE MORNING TOMORROW. THESE SHOWERS ARE GOING TO BE MOVING IN FROM THE WEST AND THEN BUILDING EAST THROUGHOUT THE REST OF THE MORNING. SO EIGHT O’CLOCK IN THE MORNING AND YOU SEE HOW WIDESPREAD THIS RAIN IS AND AGAIN SOME POCKETS OF HEAVY RAIN WILL BE A POSSIBILITY EARLY ON AND THERE IS THAT POTENTIAL THAT WE HEAR SOME THUNDER TOO TOMORROW, ESPECIALLY IN THE MORNING. MIDDAY THE SHOWERS START TO BREAK UP A LITTLE BIT NOT AS WIDESPREAD A FEW SCATTERED SHOWERS ACROSS THE AREA AND THEN SOME SPOTTY RAIN THROUGHOUT THE AFTERNOON AND TOMORROW EVENING. SO 6:30 RIGHT BEFORE FIRST PITCH FOR THE REDS GAME. I THINK THERE IS STILL A POTENTIAL. WE HAVE A SHOWER AROUND AT SOME POINT DURING THE 9 INNINGS, BUT I’M THINKING MOST OF THE GAMES SHOULD BE OKAY AND IT IS GOING TO BE A LITTLE BIT MILD TOO TEMPERATURES TOMORROW, DESPITE THE RAIN AND DESPITE THE CLOUD COVER STILL MAKE IT INTO THE LOWER 70S AND THEN LOW 70S AGAIN ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON TONIGHT STILL SITTING AT 61 IN CINCINNATI 62 IN FLORENCE 59 AND 158 IN MOUNT ORAB AND TEMPERATURES WILL START DROPPING DOWN INTO THE MID-50S FOR MOST OF US FOR THE OVERNIGHT. SO WE START THINGS OFF MILD TOMORROW MORNING AND THEN UP TO 68 BY FIRST PITCH. I THINK MOST OF US STILL TOP OUT AROUND 70 IN THE AFTERNOON, BUT BY 6:40 68 70 FOR FIRST PITCH ON TUESDAY SCATTERED RAIN AND POSSIBILITY FOR BOTH OF THE GAMES MONDAY AND TUESDAY AND THEN BY WEDNESDAY’S GAME I THINK THE FORECAST STARTS TO DRY OUT A LITTLE BIT. THERE’S STILL POTENTIAL FOR AN ISOLATED SHOWER, B OVERALL RELATIVELY DRY ON WEDNESDAY 80 FOR THAT HIGH ON WEDNESDAY AND THEN INTO THE 80S ON THURSDAY AS WELL, ALTHOUGH FOR FIRST PITCH AT 12:35 78 AND THEN CLIMBING INTO THE 80S BY THURSDAY AFTERNOON. SO FOR TOMORROW RAIN CHANCES HIGHEST IN THE MORNING 59 FIRST THING AND THEN UP TO ABOUT 69 70 DEGREES FOR THAT HIGH TEMPERATURE AND TONIGHT WE’LL DROP DOWN TO ABOUT 56 THE FIRST TWO DAYS OF THE WEEK. WE’LL BOTH BE WEATHER IMPACT DAYS AND THEN WARMING UP INTO THE MID 80S EVEN ABOUT 10 DEGREES. ABOVE NORMAL FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR HUMID DURING THE AFTERNOONS. JUST WHAT THOSE CICADAS LIKE AND STAYING WARM TOO A

Cool down your dog in summer by offering access to a paddling pool, moving their bed to a shady spot and ensuring they hydrate with refreshing water. Unlike humans, dogs can't sweat through their skin, making it harder for them to cool off in the heat. "We're all pleased that lockdown is finally easing and we can begin to safely see our loved ones again, and get out and about to enjoy the warm summer weather," Paula Boyden, veterinary director at the Dogs Trust in the U.K., says."But we're urging pet owners to consider keeping their pets at home during the hottest parts of the day when temperatures can soar. While it's important to exercise your dog and continue to meet their welfare needs, sometimes it is in their best interests to leave them at home for short periods if you're going out to enjoy the hot weather and leave their until the cooler evenings or early morning."Take a look at how you can cool a dog down when the temperature rises. How do you lower a dog's temperature? Some of the simple things you can do to cool down your dog include: 1. Avoid exercising your pet during excessively hot weather and walk early in the morning or late in the evening when it's cooler.2. Remember that pavements can get very hot and may burn your pets' paws. This clever seven-second trick will help you to know whether the pavement is too hot to walk your dog.3. Ensure animals have access to shade and fresh drinking water at all times.4. Use a cooling mat or wrap an ice pack or frozen water bottle in a tea towel for your pet to lie on.5. Use cold treats from the fridge for added moisture or make an ice lolly from pet-friendly ingredients. Try this clever DIY 'Ice Lick' hack to keep your dog cool. 6. Remember to never leave a dog trapped in a hot car. Will wetting a dog cool it down?Dogs can't cool down as easily as we can, which is why you will often find them panting as a way to keep cool. If you notice that your dog is struggling with rising temperatures, let them splash around in a dog paddling pool placed in the shade. When it comes to cooling down a hot dog, always give them a bowl of cold water. With immediate effects, it will help your pup to cool down from inside his stomach. When heading out on a summer's walk, always ensure you have refreshing water with you. How can you tell if a dog is overheated? Some of the early signs of heatstroke include: Panting Difficulty breathingTirednessLess keen to playDroolingVomiting "If you spot any of these, take immediate action," Paula adds. "Stop exercising your dog, bring your dog inside into a cool area, give your dog a drink and seek veterinary advice immediately. Severe heatstroke can cause multiple seizures, complete loss of consciousness, loss of coordination, confusion and vomiting and diarrhea with blood. If untreated it can prove fatal." How do you cool down an overheated dog?If your dog is overheating, some of the things to do include using tap water to cool them off (opt for lukewarm water to avoid shocking them). As well as this, take your dog directly out of the sun and into a shaded spot. Place a bowl of cold water in front of your dog, but allow them to drink it when they're ready (they may be too focused on heavy panting to drink). If you are still concerned about your dog's heat, always head to your local vet. Give your dog the chance to cool down before traveling.

<p class="body-text">Dogs can't cool down as easily as we can, which is why you will often find them panting as a way to keep cool. If you notice that your dog is struggling with rising temperatures, let them splash around in a dog <a href="https://www.countryliving.com/uk/wildlife/pets/g36162467/dog-paddling-pools/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">paddling pool</a> placed in the shade. </p>
<p>When it comes to cooling down a hot dog, always give them a bowl of cold water. With immediate effects, it will help your pup to cool down from inside his stomach. When heading out on a summer's walk, always ensure you have refreshing water with you. </p>

<p>Some of the early signs of heatstroke include: </p>
<ul>
<li>Panting </li>
<li>Difficulty breathing</li>
<li>Tiredness</li>
<li>Less keen to play</li>
<li>Drooling</li>
<li>Vomiting </li>
</ul>
<p>"If you spot any of these, take immediate action," Paula adds. "Stop exercising your dog, bring your dog inside into a cool area, give your dog a drink and seek veterinary advice immediately. Severe heatstroke can cause multiple seizures, complete loss of consciousness, loss of coordination, confusion and vomiting and diarrhea with blood. If untreated it can prove fatal." </p>

<p>If your dog is overheating, some of the things to do include <strong>using tap water to cool them off </strong>(opt for lukewarm water to avoid shocking them). As well as this, <strong>take your dog directly out of the sun</strong> and into a shaded spot. Place a bowl of cold water in front of your dog, but <strong>allow them to drink it when they're ready</strong> (they may be too focused on heavy panting to drink). </p>
<p>If you are still concerned about your dog's heat, always head to your local vet. Give your dog the chance to cool down before traveling.</p>
