HAS THEIR TARPSP U ALREADY. WE ARE TRACKGIN A LOT IN THE TROPICS, BUT OUR SIGHTS ARE SET ON NICHOLAS. SO WE DO HEAV A TROPICAL STORM NOW IN THE GULF YOU CAN SEE THAT WE ARE NOTHE T CONE BUT WE’RE STILL GOING TO SEE RAIN OUT OF THIS. SO TROPICAL STORM. NI TROPICAL STORM. CHOLAS IS MOVING NORTH-NORTHWEST AT 14 MILESN A HOUR. IT HAS SUSTAINED WINDS OF 40 MILES AN HOUR. NOW, THERE’S TWO SCENARIOS THAT WE COULD SEE OUT OF THIS. OF COURSE, WE WATCH THESE MODELS CLOSELY AND I LIKE TO SHOW YOU THEM. THIS IS THE EUROPEAN MODEL. IT’S A GLOBAL MODEL FAIRLY RELIABLE. IT SHOWS NICHOLAS MOVING NORTH SLOWLY AND TNHE MAKING LANDFALL IN TEXAS AND THEN SOMEATWH CALLING SO IT WOULD STILL BRING RAIN TO US. IT WOULD BE A REALLY BAD SCENARIO FOR PLACES LIKE HOUSTON AND GALVESTONT I WOULD DUMP A LOT OF RAIN OVER THEM. BUT THIS IS THE OTHER MODEL THE EUROPE. EXCUSE ME, THE AMERICAN MODEL. IT’S THE GFS MODEL. IT HAS BEEN REALLY RELIABLE THIS SEASON. IT SHOWS THIS MOVING NTHOR MAKING LANDFALL, BUT THEN TURNING EAST QUICKLY AND THAT’S A WORST OUT. THAT’S A WORSE OUTCOME FOR US. THAT WOULD BRING US EVEN MORE RAIN. TO OUR AREA THROUGH MIDWEEK EVEN INTO THURSDAY. SO HERE’S A LOOK AT RAINFALL OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS PERHAPS OVER 10 INCHE MS,AYBE UP TO 12 INCHESF O RAIN FOR PLACES LIKE HOUSTON GALVESTON EVEN OVER TOWARDS THE LAKE CHARLES AREA RFO US. WE COULD SEE ATHNYING FROM SAY AROUND AN INCH AND A HALF OF RAIN FOR WASHINGTON PARISH AND THEN DOWN TOWARDS SAY HMAOU GALLIANO, MAYBE MORE LIKE FIVE INCHES OF RNAI RAIN. WE DO NOT NEED SO DO BE PREPARED. PERHAPSP U TO FIVE INCHES OF INRA. IT ALL DEPENDS ON EXACTLY WHAT THE STORM DOES AND AS YOU SAW MODELS DON’T HAVE A GOOD GRIP ON IT RIGHT NOWWO T DIFFERENT OUTCOMES, BUT AS NICHOLAS CONTINUES TO ORGANIZE AND STRENGTHEN THE GULF OF MEXICO. WE’LL GET A BETTER IDEA ON EXACTLY WHAT THIS STORM IS GOING TO DO HOW FAST IT’S GOING TO MOVE HOW QUICKLY IT WILL TURN EAST AND FROM THERE. WE’LL BE ABLE TO GET A REALLY GOOD GRIP ON JUST HOW MUCH RAIN WE COULD SEE BUT IN THE MEANTIME, I WANT TO GIVE YOU A HEADS UP DO PREPARE FOR SOME HEAVY RAIN ON THE WAY. THERE’S A LOOK AT NICHOLAS RIGHT NOW ALREADY BRINGING RAIN TO PARTS OF THE COAST. WE’RE ALREADY SEEING RAIN HERE. YOU CAN SEE THAT WE’VE SEEN OFF ANDN O SHOWERS AND HEAVY RAIN THROUGHOUT THE DAY GRAND ISLE SEEING RAIN RIGHT NOWAM SE FOR GALLIANO AND TTHA CONTINUES UP TOWARDS LAFITTE AND THEN SOME OTHER SHOWER ACTIVITY OVER TOWARDS HOUMA THAT EXTENDS EVEN UP INTO PORTISON OF THE NORTH SHORE THOUGH NOT A WLEHO LOT OF RAIN THERE. SO WE’RE GOING TO CONTINUE TO SEE OFF AND ON SCATTERED RAIN OVERNIGHT TONIGHT THEN TOMORROW A BIT. MORE RAIN STILL SCATTERED OFF AND ON THROUGHOUT THE DAY TOMORROW FOR MONDAY, BUT THEN BY TUESDAY, THAT’S WHEN WE’LL SEE MORE RAIN. YOU CAN SEE THAT HERE NOTICE THAT. SEEDS SCATTERED SHOWERS, MAYBE EVEN SOME THUNDERSTORMS ON OUR MONDAY AND THEN AS WE HEAD INTO TUESDAY WATCH THIS LOOK AT ALL OF THAT RAIN THAT WE ARE EXPECTING ON TUESDAY. SO RAIN CHANCESRE A GOING TO BE ELEVATED OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY EX

Tropical Storm Nicholas has formed and is expected to increase our rain chances this week. Nicholas is in the Southwestern Gulf. The storm is expected to move along the Texas Coast and approach Houston by Tuesday night. Nicholas will gradually strengthen as it moves northward but is forecast to still stay at tropical storm strength before making landfall. Southeast Louisiana is not in the cone, but Nicholas will push tropical rains toward that area. Southeast Louisiana could see up to 5 inches of rain while parts of southwest Louisiana could see over 10 inches. Impacts to Southeast Louisiana will include increased rain chances later in the week. Watch the video above for the full story.

Some police departments across Greater Cincinnati are now seeing a surge of identity theft reports linked to unemployment fraud.People said they're finding out something is wrong when they receive a tax form in the mail.Officials said there are steps you should take if you find one of those forms in your mailbox. It's a problem that is unfortunately becoming more common by the day.One police department we talked with said they had five new identity theft reports linked to unemployment fraud on Wednesday."Yeah, it's makes you mad," victim Al said.Al only wants to use his first name to protect his identity from any further harm but found himself filing a police report for identity theft last week.He got a 1099-G tax form in the mail for fraudulent unemployment payments but said he hasn't been unemployed at all.Al said he called the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and waited for more than an hour for help."They told me that they were going to put a flag on my account, as far as unemployment benefits go," he said.He also said he checked with the three credit bureaus and his bank to make sure there wasn't anything suspicious happening there.ODJFS said it has received 80,000 fraud reports online alone in two weeks. One police report from our area showed a woman received, "A 1099 from Job and Family Services for collecting $23,000 in unemployment."Another said a man told police there was a fraudulent claim for $16,000.ODJFS Director Kim Henderson said the last three months of 2020, there were fraudulent traditional unemployment overpayments worth $2.3 million. In just December, she said there were fraudulent pandemic unemployment assistance overpayments worth $330 million. She described a surge when it comes to the 1099-G forms, pointing out that in January 2021, 1.7 million forms were issued compared to about 200,000 forms in January 2020."After we receive a report of potential identity theft, we will process the report, issue applicable fraud determinations and if necessary, issue a corrected 1099 form to the IRS," Henderson said.Attorney General Dave Yost has asked congress to shield people in a scenario like Al's from paying taxes on the fraudulent funds, as more people catch on to the crime."I wanted to know who did it. I wanted to know how they did it. Who put the check in their hand or what address did it go to? And they couldn't help me," he said.ODJFS said if this happens to you, you should report it immediately. You can use a new online portal to address unemployment fraud by visiting unemployment.ohio.gov.You can also call the new ID Theft Hotline at 1-833-658-0394.Officials said you can file your taxes without the erroneous 1099-G form. They also said you should take steps to protect your identity.ODJFS recommends people take the following steps if you feel like you may be a fraud victim:Visiting the ODJFS unemployment website and click 'Report identity theft'Accessing the ODJFS fraud page at jfs.ohio.gov/fraud and clicking on the “Unemployment Insurance Claimant” button, which will take the victim to an online form to fill outCalling 1-800-686-1555 and pressing Option 1.Faxing information to 1-614-752-4808.Or sending ODJFS an email to ucbenprotest@jfs.ohio.gov.If you are determined to be a victim of fraud:Follow all the steps above to alert ODJFSReview your credit report and place an initial fraud alert on your credit fileFile a police reportFile your taxes

The announcement came Tuesday during Google I/O, a company conference that looks at new and upcoming features from the company.

Javier Soltero, Google’s General Manager and Vice President of Google Workspace, explained how the “language suggestions” would work in a situation involving a team working on a shared document.

“As they continue to brainstorm, the assisted writing feature suggests that they change the term ‘chairman’ to ‘chairperson’ in the document to avoid a gendered term,” Soltero explained.

“New assisted writing capabilities in Google Workspace offers suggestions so you can communicate more effectively,” he added.

Other changes in the Google Workspace include incorporating Google Meet into Docs and Slides, so people can easily share documents they are working on during video calls, according to the company.

The changes are expected to rollout later this year.

Earlier this year, Google rolled out an updated developer documentation style guide to ensure the language is more "inclusive." In it, users are encouraged to avoid ableist language, avoid unnecessarily violent or harsh language, and examples to be more culturally diverse.
