CHEVIOT, Ohio —

A night out in Cheviot ended with one woman being briefly pinned between two vehicles and taken to the hospital and another woman, 25-year-old Jashayla Headed, was arrested and transported to the Hamilton County Justice Center.

Headen is charged with felonious assault.

After the bars along Harrison Avenue closed Sunday morning, groups of people are seen on surveillance footage hanging out on the sidewalk.

A few women had words with each other, and as the argument starts to escalate, a man can be seen walking over and separating them. That only lasted so long before punches were thrown.

Eventually, a woman later identified as Headen crossed the street to get her boyfriend's car.

Cheviot police said she then returned at a high rate of speed, almost striking the group standing in the street.

The arguing continued, and the women were separated again.

Then, nearly seven minutes later, Headen hopped in the driver's seat again. Police said she put the car in reverse and slowly backed up toward the small crowd of people.

They can be heard screaming and banging on the car as one of the women in the group was briefly pinned.

She was taken to Mercy West to be checked out.

Headen's bond was set at $25,000.

The FAA is reportedly investigating a Delta flight that had to make an emergency landing in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The flight was traveling from Atlanta to Los Angeles Tuesday when the plane's cabin filled with smoke.

Videos posted online show passengers seated in the midst of smoke and an alarm going off.

Journalist Matt Johnson posted a video of passengers giving a round of applause to the pilots who safely landed the plane.

Delta has not revealed the source of the smoke. However, a spokesperson for Delta told NBC News that flight crew members observed a performance issue with one of the plane's engines.

Delta reportedly brought in another plane to take passengers to their final destination.

KENTON COUNTY, Ky. —

A 15-year-old girl was sent to the emergency room after she was violently attacked on a Kenton County school bus on Thursday.

“I got stitches right here,” said Scott High School freshman Kyleigh Ketcham as she pointed to a spot over her left eye. “It's swollen all the way to the back of my head.”

The teen was riding home from school when she said someone from the back of the bus threw something at her. The mood was light, and kids were laughing as they pointed out the boy who was sitting behind Ketcham.

Ketcham says she poured water on the boy’s leg.

Video taken by another student shows the 17-year-old boy immediately leap from his seat and begin throwing a violent series of punches. About a dozen punches were unleashed onto the face of the 15-year-old girl.

“It just hurt really bad, but I was, like, trying to not cry in front of everyone. So, like, I didn't cry on the bus,” Ketcham said. “I was scared because, like, they could have seriously, like, done more damage.”

“It was just horrific, heartbreaking,” said the teen’s aunt, Corarinna Ketcham. “It was something out of a bad movie.”

“When he was done using her face as a punching bag, she got up and was shocked,” said the girl’s aunt.

Director of Public Information and Community Engagement for the Kenton County School District Jess Dykes released this statement about the incident:

"This type of behavior will not be tolerated and we take all incidents like this seriously. The Kenton County School District is following all policies and procedures with the district code of conduct. We are cooperating with local law enforcement on this investigation."

Taylor Mill police have filed misdemeanor assault charges against the boy.

At least 18,000 machine guns have been handed out to volunteers in Ukraine by the government in Kyiv since Russia's invasion of the country began.

Ukraine's Interior Ministry adviser Vadym Denysenko made the announcement, according to the BBC, and the country's defense ministry also said that it urged residents to prepare gas bombs, also known as Molotov cocktails, in a rudimentary push to do all they can to combat Russian aggression.

Men were seen across Ukraine's capital in everyday clothing with rifles across their backs. On Thursday CNN reported that Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said male citizens aged 18 to 60 were not allowed to leave the country, so they would be forced to help in the fight.

Video shared by the Kyiv Independent showed civilians rummaging through boxes appearing to look for weapons.

On Friday evening in Kyiv the Independent reported that a series of loud explosions could be heard by locals. Reports suggested that an attack could have been targeting the area's combined power and heating plant. Another report said that a Russian missile hit a school building, which was said to be empty and no casualties were reported.

As the BBC reported, there was even a call in Ukraine for hackers to come together and help fight back against Russia's cyberwar against the country.

HOUSTON —

A Texas high school baseball coach being chased down and assaulted by four middle school students was caught on cellphone video earlier this week.

The attack, which took place at Langham Creek High School, near Houston, stemmed from the teacher reprimanding four teenagers from nearby Aragon Middle School for riding their dirt bikes on school property.

Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District officials said the attackers have been taken into custody and will be disciplined according to the code of conduct.

For a year and a half, music fans have been struggling to get refunds.

For Tom Relly, it was several hundred dollars worth of tickets to a canceled Foo Fighters concert.

"They are a pretty big business, and we are just little people who want our money back," he said.

In Diedre Perlmutter's case, it was a postponed Cher performance.

"Now they are not refunding anything because it has not been canceled," she said.

Mike Kramer is at his wit's end trying to get answers about his tickets to a soccer match.

He tried calling but said, "the recording flat out said we are not providing any phone support at this time."

Third-party ticket sellers may not have money to give

The good news: Ticketmaster is now refunding tickets to events canceled in 2020 and 2021.

But millions of people like Kramer are dealing with third-party ticket sellers that all have different policies.

Michelle Couch Friedman, who is with the nonprofit consumer group Elliott Advocacy, says there's nothing wrong with resellers until it comes to refunds.

"Any time you are putting a third party between you and your purchase, you are adding a layer of difficulty if there is a problem later," she said.

Many concertgoers did not even realize they were buying from a third-party ticket broker, which never even had the tickets.

"When the concerts or events are being canceled, the refunds are going to those people who were the original ticket holder," Friedman said.

That means a third-party buyer may never receive a refund.

What you can do

There are some things people can do to protect themselves when buying concert tickets or requesting a refund.

Elliott Advocacy suggests:

• Buying directly from Ticketmaster, if possible.
• Being careful when Googling for Ticketmaster. Third-party sites often pay for search engines' top listings. 
• Emailing the ticket site or contacting them through Twitter if you can't reach a human over the phone.
• Filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Finally, customers can dispute the charge through their credit card, but if the refund is already in the works, Elliott Advocacy says that could actually muck things up and get them nowhere.

So use a credit card dispute as a last resort, so you don't waste your money.

SUTTER CREEK, Calif. —

A California elementary school teacher was allegedly assaulted by a parent during an argument over their child having to wear a mask.

The incident happened Wednesday on campus, about an hour after the first day of school came to a close at Sutter Creek Elementary School.

"The teacher was bleeding," Amador County Unified School District Superintendent Torie Gibson told sister station KCRA. "He had some lacerations on his face, some bruising on his face, and a pretty good knot on the back of his head."

Gibson said the male parent verbally assaulted the school's principal when his daughter walked out of a school building wearing a mask. When a male teacher stepped in, the situation escalated and a physical altercation happened, resulting in injuries. The teacher was treated at the hospital and released Wednesday night.

According to Gibson, the parent was frustrated with the school's indoor mask requirement for everyone while students are on campus. The district's policy also says teachers who have proved they are fully vaccinated can take off their mask indoors when students are not present. The district's policy is in line with the indoor mask mandate by the state health department.

A letter Gibson sent to families said that "assaulting a staff member will never be tolerated on any school campus" and called for people to "take a breath, pause, listen and walk away if necessary."

"Remember, we are not the ones making the rules/mandates, we are the ones required to follow/enforce them if we want to keep our doors open and students at school five days a week," the letter said.

Gibson said she has received some angry emails since sending out the letter.

Parents who spoke with KCRA Thursday on campus said they support the teacher who was assaulted and are upset a parent used violence on a school campus.

"When it bleeds out onto and into locations where our children are, that's not okay," one parent said.

The superintendent says the parent is not allowed on school property, but the student is. She says a police report was filed with Sutter Creek police, and the district is working with the district attorney's office.

"If it's appropriate to press charges, we will do that," Gibson said. "If they tell me it's not appropriate, I will trust them."

SPRINGDALE, Ohio —

New video shows what it looked like inside Dave & Buster's in Springdale as a large fight exploded.

Families were startled, and employees warned police that a gun and a Taser were involved.

Police said a man was found shot nearby.

WLWT talked with a man who happened to be in the restaurant and arcade celebrating a birthday as it all unfolded and used his phone to record some of it.

A number of employees called 911 for help begging police to hurry.

"I just can't believe that I witnessed that, that that stuff actually happens," Chandler Davis said.

Davis said he captured video of the fight on Monday night inside Dave & Buster's.

He was there for his girlfriend's sister's 21st birthday celebration, but this was no way to mark that milestone.

"I see a bunch of men throwing fists at each other, so I decided to record it and I didn't want to get too close because there was a girl there with a stun gun and she was going around hitting a bunch of guys in the neck with it," Davis said.

The video he captured showed the intensity of it all.

Five employees called 911 asking police to hurry as the fighting only got worse.

"It's like 10, 15 people and they're fighting. They've got Tasers and everything," an employee said during a 911 call.

In the calls, employees tell 911 dispatchers someone has a gun.

Davis saw their reaction in real time as the fight continued inside and eventually moved outside.

"We were sitting there and one of the workers came running back inside and he didn't say he had a gun but he was like, 'Everybody stay in here' and like, 'Stay down,'" he said.

Springdale police found a 37-year-old man shot nearby.

He is expected to be OK.

Police said no one was arrested, but they are making progress.

Meanwhile, Davis isn't sure he will be back.

"Just don't do it in public, if anything. Just don't do it at all at that. Just, especially not in public around kids, because I was right by a family and they had a little kid and they were really, really freaked out," he said.

Springdale police said they have set up a meeting to talk with Dave & Buster's about security and preventing this from happening again.

They were at this arcade earlier this year for fights and shots were fired near a neighboring business, though no one was hit.

Dave & Buster's has not responded to our request for comment.

A man was found shot in Springdale Monday night.

Police say that man was found outside of the Dave & Buster's restaurant and arcade, shortly after what police are calling a large fight at the business.

It happened around 8 p.m. at the popular arcade, restaurant and sports bar in the 11700 block of Common Drive.

According to officials with the Springdale Police Department, police were called for reports of a "large fight" at Dave & Buster's.

Police say while en route, they were "updated concerning individuals being armed with a stun gun and a firearm."

Authorities arriving on the scene say they found a 37-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound nearby.

That man, who has not been named, was taken to Bethesda North Hospital. He is expected to survive, police said.

Authorities have not said if anyone was arrested.

CINCINNATI —

A family is broken after a 13-year-old girl was stabbed to death in Winton Hills.

The teen's father said the pain is immeasurable and described her as the glue that held them all together.

Investigators said the teen was taken to Cincinnati Children's Hospital where she died after the stabbing Monday night.

"I held her. I watched her as she died. I watched her, you know. All I could do was just hold her, hold her," Maurice Jackson said.

Devastation, heartache and loss are all emotions that Jackson, Nyaira Givens' father, is feeling after her sudden death.

"I tried. I tried to stop the bleeding," Jackson said.

There are so many feelings he cannot escape, and many people wouldn't be able to either, after the loss of a child.

Cincinnati police said Givens was stabbed to death by another 13-year-old girl during a fight near the family's home on Topridge Place.

Prayers on Tuesday evening helped ease the heartache, but just barely.

"Just tried my best to protect her and be the father I could be, you know? I guess I didn't pay attention to all the other stuff that was going on around her," Jackson said.

He said his daughter was the second oldest of seven children.

He also said she helped keep the family together and loved school.

Jackson told WLWT his daughter was a freshman at Aiken High School and went to school with the girl who stabbed her.

He said they were "on and off friends," but that his daughter was being bullied.

Community leaders call the scene "tragic."

"Learn how to solve problems, one towards another, because just because you're mad at somebody doesn't mean that their life has to be taken because of that," Cincinnati Police God Squad Rev. Alvin Scales said.

A 13-year-old's life was stolen this time and it has left a family broken.

"The pain I'm feeling right now, it's just, I can't explain it. It's very unexplainable. She should be burying me. I shouldn't be burying her," Jackson said.

Givens' father said she was smart, mature and wanted to be a hairstylist.

He said she wanted to bring beauty to the world.

Police said the 13-year-old suspect is being held at the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center and is due in court on Wednesday by Zoom.

She faces a murder charge.
