FAIRFIELD, Ohio —

Police are releasing more details surrounding a fatal shooting that occurred last week in Fairfield.

According to police, 18-year-old Chase Williams was shot and killed during an altercation with a family member.

Police said on Nov. 17 just after 12 p.m., officers responded to the 5000 block of Planet Drive for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found Williams deceased inside of a residence.

Police said all involved parties have been identified, however no arrests have been made at this time.

The case will be forwarded to the Butler County Prosecutor's Office for review once the investigation is complete.

No further information has been released.

Police said officers fatally shot a man threatening them with a butcher knife following a stabbing in southern California last week, but the man's family is seeking answers.

According to a Huntington Park Police statement, officers encountered a victim with knife wounds who described a Black male in a wheelchair assaulting them. The victim told police the attack was unprovoked. Although the victim ended up with life-threatening injuries, they could point officers toward a suspect.

The police statement said it then encountered the suspect, who advocates identify as 36-year-old Anthony Lowe. He was reportedly armed with a 12-inch butcher knife. The police statement claimed that Lowe ignored commands to drop the knife, threatened police with the weapon and a stun gun was ineffective before officers fatally shot him.

Police have not released body camera footage of the incident, which can sometimes differ from the official account given by police.

An unclear cellphone video posted on social media of the incident indicated Lowe attempted to run from police before getting shot. Footage of the actual shooting has not surfaced as of Tuesday afternoon.

The Coalition for Community Control Over the Police held a news conference outside police headquarters on Monday, calling for answers.

The Los Angeles Times reported that Lowe had his legs amputated after a previous altercation with police

"They murdered my son, in a wheelchair with no legs," mother Dorothy Lowe told reporters. "They do need to do something about it."

A spokesperson for the family told CBS News that Lowe was undergoing a mental health crisis at the time of the incident.

The officers were placed on administrative leave. The Huntington Park Police Department, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department – Homicide Bureau, and the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office are all investigating the incident.

The victim of the original stabbing remained in critical condition, as of Monday.

CINCINNATI — Cincinnati Police are investigating a homicide in Millvale. Around 7 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 1900 block of Millvale Court. That's where they found 45-year-old Geno Cunningham suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he later died.

In a press release, investigators said someone took an additional victim to Good Samaritan Hospital. Police said the second victim has non-life-threatening injuries and did not release their identity.

This investigation is ongoing. Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call the Homicide Unit at (513) 352-3542.

INDIANAPOLIS —

An Indianapolis man suspected of killing three adults and a child told police he fatally shot the four victims after he and his girlfriend argued because he wanted a share of her federal COVID-19 relief money, according to a court document and one of the girlfriend's relatives.

Malik Halfacre, 25, was being held Tuesday at the Marion County Jail on four preliminary counts of murder and one count each of attempted murder and robbery. He has not yet been formally charged in Saturday's shootings, which police have said occurred following a heated argument in a home where officers found the bodies of Anthony Johnson, 35, Dequan Moore, 23, Tomeeka Brown, 44, and 7-year-old Eve Moore. Halfacre's girlfriend was critically wounded.

A probable cause affidavit filed Monday in Marion County Superior Court reveals more details about the argument. It says that Halfacre told officers following his arrest Sunday evening that he and his girlfriend — identified only as "J.M." — "were arguing because he wanted some of her stimulus check."

"Mr. Halfacre admitted to shooting all of the deceased individuals in the house. He also said that after everyone was shot, he took the money, J.M.'s purse, and her car and left the scene," with his 6-month-old daughter, according to the affidavit.

The baby was later found unharmed at the home of Halfacre's sister, according to the affidavit.

Wendy Johnson, a cousin of Halfacre's girlfriend, told WXIN-TV that the day before the shootings Halfacre demanded half of his girlfriend's $1,400 pandemic stimulus check, but her cousin refused.

"She had just got her money, and he wanted half of her money," she told the station, citing what her cousin had said after the encounter. "She said, 'No, you don't deserve any of this. I work. I take care of our child. You don't do anything.'"

Johnson said her cousin had offered Halfacre $450 of her stimulus check but that he replied, "I'm gonna get that money."

Halfacre's sister told officers that when her brother came to her home and dropped off the baby, he also "admitted to killing four people and told her details about how it happened," the affidavit states.

Officers later found Halfacre in the attic of a friend's home about 4.5 miles from the shooting scene, police said.

The Marion County Prosecutor's Office is still investigating and does not expect to make a charging decision before Thursday, according to spokeswoman Destiny Burgos.

FLORENCE, Ky. — Kentucky State Police are investigating law enforcement officers' fatal shooting of a man in Florence, Kentucky, on June 30.

According to a news release, U.S. Marshals attempted to execute multiple arrest warrants on a suspect located inside a home on Garden Drive.

The subject fired his weapon at the Marshals and continued to brandish a firearm throughout their brief standoff.

Law enforcement — the release does not specify which entity they worked for — shot the man, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. No officers were harmed during the altercation.

Officials have not publicized the man's name or the crimes of which he was suspect.
