Two airplanes at Boston's Logan Airport came into contact with each other Friday afternoon causing emergency vehicles to swarm a section of the airport.A Massport spokesperson said a United Airlines aircraft came into contact with a parked Delta Air Lines aircraft at a low speed.A United spokesperson said the winglet of a United aircraft clipped the tail of another aircraft.A family on the United flight was watching as the two planes got a little too close for comfort. Their kids pulled out their cellphones and started rolling right as the collision occurred. The video shows the United plane moving at a slow rate of speed when the wing of the United flight clipped the tail of a Delta plane.The family said they could feel the planes bumping together, saying it was a little scary."We were driving through the tarmac and I saw this other plane stationary and we were just driving and it hit the other plane," Daniel Fredrickson said. "I knew it was going to happen. So I caught it on video."Fredrickson said they sat at the location for about an hour after the incident as other people around them took pictures.Online flight records showed the United plane, a Boeing 737 MAX 9, was scheduled to depart Boston for Newark Airport Friday afternoon before coming into contact with the parked Delta Airbus A321 aircraft. "Customers on the United aircraft deplaned normally at the gate, and we will rebook them onto other flights," the statement from United said.Delta said passengers on its plane were waiting to depart for Detroit. That's 4% of its total schedule.Delta said the cancellations are due to multiple issues including the omicron variant."We apologize to our customers for the delay in their holiday travel plans," Delta said in a statement. "Delta people are working hard to get them to where they need to be as quickly and as safely as possible on the next available flight."
