LITTLETON, Colo. (KMGH) — Rocky is a certified therapy animal that visits assisted living centers in Colorado.

His owners, Steve and Julie Donizio, decided to get Rocky after Steve spent time in the hospital. He said he saw the impact therapy animals had on the patients.

“I seen all the therapy dogs and they kinda made you happy when you were in there. I said, 'We're going to get a therapy pony,'" Steve recalled.

Everyone seems to fall in love with Rocky once they meet him, but the seniors appear to be the most grateful.

"It brings back good, old memories from their childhood days when they had animals and horses," said Julie. "Their love for horses just never dies, so they love seeing them."

Rocky's work doesn't stop at assisted living centers. He also visits children at schools.

“We’re lucky he’s such a good boy. Might not know it, but he is a good boy.” Steve said.

DENVER — Who knew Colorado was so good at playing tag? The new international champions in World Chase Tag winners are from Denver, Colorado.

Team APEX, with the parkour gym APEX Denver, just won the World Chase Tag championship in London, England.

It is like the game we all grew up playing, only with a giant jungle gym in the way. It was invented in England back in 2016, and has gotten so popular that it gets broadcast on ESPN every summer.

"Imagine you're playing tag, confined in a space, and being chased by a professional parkour athlete," said gym co-owner Rob Shihl.

DENVER, Colo. (KMGH) — The world's largest land animal can get down.

At the Denver Zoo, the staff members of the pachyderm team have trained all five of its elephants to engage in the "Elephant Yoga" program.

The bulls can stretch, bend and even roll.

While it's entertaining to watch, it's also beneficial for their health.

"Elephant programs need to have an exercise program. So, part of our exercise for the elephants who live here is yoga- different stretches to keep their joints mobile, active, and engaged," said Maura Davis, assistant curator of pachyderms at the Denver Zoo.

The program also has health benefits for elephants at other zoos.

“So, Billy is one of our donors for plasma. He does stand nice and still, allows us to take a couple of liter of blood which has lifesaving platelets and opportunities for young elephants that need it.” Davis said.

Zookeepers say elephants can be trained as soon as they are able to eat solid food.
