PAGE, Ariz. — A group spending Memorial Day boating on Lake Powell in Arizona witnessed something few ever see or are able to catch on video.

Mila Carter was heading towards Antelope Point Marina with family and friends Monday when she noticed a few rocks falling along a nearby cliff next to the lake.

"It kind of didn't stop and we could tell that more was coming, so we stopped and I kind of just pulled out my phone just in time," said Carter.

What happened next left them stunned, amazed and every other adjective in the dictionary.

"Pretty incredible," explained Carter. "Saw something like I had never seen before."

Within seconds after Carter pulled out her phone, an entire section of the cliff broke free and crashed into the water. The massive rock slide caused a large splash followed by a wave heading in the direction of the boat.

"I feel like the video didn't do that big tidal wave justice," said Carter. "It was huge."

Seeing the wave crash near them, Carter's husband sped up when realizing they needed to quickly get out of the way.

"There was still the aftermath of the big rockfall that we need to make sure and be clear from," Carter said.

When spending a holiday on Lake Powell, boaters usually expect a day full of sun and fun. But never in their wildest dreams did Carter and her family expect to see a rock slide literally rock their world.

"We try to be safe and stay clear of things like that, but it definitely isn't something that I was really concerned about. Not every time I'm by a big cliff or rock do I worry that it's going to fall on me."

The entire experience took just seconds, but was something Carter said she her group will remember for a lifetime.

"It was definitely surprising and shocking and kind of a little bit of a wake up call to watch out for everything!"

KENTON COUNTY, Ky. —

A 15-year-old girl was sent to the emergency room after she was violently attacked on a Kenton County school bus on Thursday.

“I got stitches right here,” said Scott High School freshman Kyleigh Ketcham as she pointed to a spot over her left eye. “It's swollen all the way to the back of my head.”

The teen was riding home from school when she said someone from the back of the bus threw something at her. The mood was light, and kids were laughing as they pointed out the boy who was sitting behind Ketcham.

Ketcham says she poured water on the boy’s leg.

Video taken by another student shows the 17-year-old boy immediately leap from his seat and begin throwing a violent series of punches. About a dozen punches were unleashed onto the face of the 15-year-old girl.

“It just hurt really bad, but I was, like, trying to not cry in front of everyone. So, like, I didn't cry on the bus,” Ketcham said. “I was scared because, like, they could have seriously, like, done more damage.”

“It was just horrific, heartbreaking,” said the teen’s aunt, Corarinna Ketcham. “It was something out of a bad movie.”

“When he was done using her face as a punching bag, she got up and was shocked,” said the girl’s aunt.

Director of Public Information and Community Engagement for the Kenton County School District Jess Dykes released this statement about the incident:

"This type of behavior will not be tolerated and we take all incidents like this seriously. The Kenton County School District is following all policies and procedures with the district code of conduct. We are cooperating with local law enforcement on this investigation."

Taylor Mill police have filed misdemeanor assault charges against the boy.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) -- A red-hot firework thrown into a car in Nashville traffic on July 4 is now the subject of a police investigation.

Around 10:15 p.m. on the Fourth of July, Colin Kirby was leaving after watching the city's fireworks show when a lit firework was tossed into his open convertible.

"They lit it, then rolled down the window and threw it," said Colin Kirby. "At the same time, they went around the corner."

Kirby was driving in his convertible with a friend when people in a white car pulled up beside him. Someone in the backseat tossed the firework, which landed behind Kirby's head.

Kirby's friends were behind him in a pickup truck. The truck happened to have a camera on the dash, which captured the entire ordeal.

"I didn't know what in the world was going on," Kirby said.

Miraculously, Kirby and his passenger weren't seriously injured by the flaming firework.

"It could've landed in between us, burned our sides. It could've landed in my lap. Tons of veins in your legs. I wouldn't have been here," Kirby said.

The damage to his car is much worse. The firework singed the folded convertible top, trim, and door of his car.

Metro Nashville Police are trying to track down the white sedan and the people in it. And the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) is looking into the case.

"I think they need to make an example out of them. I hate to say that, but I think they should... at least out of the driver and the person that threw it," Kirby said.
