<p>BUFFALO, N.Y. — A 911 dispatcher has been fired for their handling of a 911 call from a person inside Tops during the <a class="Link" href="https://www.wkbw.com/news/local-news/buffalo-mass-shooting">mass shooting on May 14</a>, according to an Erie County spokesperson.</p>
<p>Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz said on May 18 that the <a class="Link" href="https://www.wkbw.com/news/local-news/buffalo-mass-shooting/poloncarz-911-dispatcher-who-acted-totally-inappropriately-placed-on-administrative-leave">dispatcher acted "totally inappropriate"</a> when taking the 911 call and was placed on administrative leave pending a hearing. The dispatcher allegedly asked why the individual was whispering and Poloncarz said one of the parties hung up and ended the phone call. The hearing took place Thursday and the dispatcher has been fired.</p>
<p>An Erie County spokesperson released the following statement:</p>
<div class="Quote">
<blockquote><p>“According to the Erie County Department of Personnel, the individual who was the subject of a disciplinary hearing earlier today is no longer employed as a police complaint writer for Erie County effective as of noon today.”</p></blockquote>
</div>
<p>The firing of this dispatcher is in addition to another incident involving a different call taker who was <a class="Link" href="https://www.wkbw.com/news/local-news/complaint-about-the-handling-of-911-call-on-sunday-leads-to-firing-of-call-taker">fired for their actions during a 911 call on Sunday, May 22</a>.</p>

					It's the call no one wants to make.“All I heard was kids yelling, ‘Mom!’ And I thought maybe it was kids yelling for their mother,” Marisa Anderson, a Wisconsin 911 dispatcher, said.But those were Anderson's kids, yelling for her. Her house was on fire. “I just remember looking at my partner and saying, ‘That's my house.' They had me leave right away,” Anderson recalled. "It didn't really hit me until I was about halfway down and I saw the black smoke off in the sky. That's when I broke down." Anderson's son — Landon — jumped into action after waking to the sound of glass breaking. He grabbed his sister and her friend from the family camper before waiting for first responders at the mailbox. “Had they been up in her room, I don't know that they would've been able to make it out,” Anderson said. “Because the hallway and everything was filled with smoke." Forestville Fire Chief Richard Olson said, “That's about ten loads of relief right off the bat that we don't have to find a victim.”The Anderson family is safe right now — but their beloved pets didn't make it. “ has taken it really hard because he feels he could've gone back in to get the pets out,” Anderson said. “My pets were like my children and without them I’m pretty lost right now."Anderson said her family will have to start from scratch after losing everything apart from some pictures and the clothes on their backs. They started a GoFundMe to ask for help rebuilding their lives.Watch the video above for more on this story.

											at just a week old. Adeline Clarkin already has quite the story to tell. Not to be graphic, but she was coming. There was no waiting. It was last saturday when Jill and john called 911 after realizing Adeline was ready to enter this world sooner than they expected. There was a pretty urgent need to get some help because we weren't going anywhere on the other line was Megan by barrels of fort Collins 911 dispatcher. I honestly didn't think we'd get all the way through it because again, that doesn't usually happen in most cases the fire department arrives in minutes and helps with the delivery, but the engine closest to the Clarkin's was tied up and Megan had to step in using her years of knowledge. I wasn't too nervous until The dad was like, Oh boy, you know she's coming. It was just a very calming voice, which I think it turned made me I mean if she would've been freaking out, I think I would've been freaking out. Megan helped guide the two as Joel gave birth to baby Adeline in a bathroom at her home and anxiously waited for her first breath. I think it was about 10 seconds that and we could hear her crying so I knew everything was okay. Jill john brother Jacob and baby addie. We're all doing okay. Having learned life is unpredictable, no matter how much planning you do. She's £6.02 ounces and she's 19 inches long, she's just tiny, tiny little thing with a full head of hair and for the first time in Megan's 10 year career here, thank you. You did so good. She got to see a call like this all the way through. This is john meet the people on the other line. It really is so special they are. I'll remember it forever and she's prepared to do it again. It may never happen again in my career, but it was really special.

					At just a week old, Addalyn Clarken already has quite the story to tell."Not to be graphic, but she was coming," Jill Clarken, Addalyn's mother, said. "There was no waiting."It was last Saturday when Jill Clarken and her husband, John, called 911 after realizing Addalyn was ready to come out sooner than they expected."There was a pretty urgent need to get some help because we weren't going anywhere," Jill said.On the other line was Megan Biberos, a Fort Collins, Colorado, 911 dispatcher. "I honestly didn't think we'd get all the way through it," Biberos said. "Because again, that doesn't usually happen."In most cases, the fire department arrives in minutes and helps with the delivery. But the engine closest to the Clarkens was tied up and Biberos had to step in using her years of knowledge."I wasn't too nervous until the dad kind of was like, 'Oh, boy, it's, you know, it's—she's coming," Biberos said. "It was just a very calming voice, which I think in turn made me calm," John Clarken said. "I mean, if she would have been freaking out, I think I would have been freaking out."Watch the video above for more on this story.
