FAIRFIELD, Ohio — The Fairfield Police Department charged a Hamilton man with murder following a shooting early Sunday morning at LugNuts Bar and Grill in Fairfield.

Miguel Galliher was charged in the shooting death of Robert Strong, 44, also of Hamilton.

According to police, Galliher pulled out a gun and started firing, and shot Strong multiple times. Galliher also struck Hailey Vierling, 21, of Hamilton and Jerome Golston, 30, of Lima. Following the shooting, the report said Galliher drove away from the bar and crashed after a brief pursuit with Fairfield police. He was then taken into custody and charged.

The Hamilton County Coroner's Office said Strong died at University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Police said Vierling and Golston suffered non-life threatening injuries. Police believe the pair were not directly involved. Galliher remains in custody at the Butler County Jail.

Butler County Prosecutor Michael Gmoser told our media partner, the Hamilton Journal-News, the Fairfield Police Department consulted with him before the arrest. The Journal-News reported Galliher was arraigned Monday morning in Fairfield Municipal Court where a judge ordered him held without bond.

“The matter is scheduled before the grand jury," Gmoser told the Journal-News. "The matter will be taken directly to the grand jury and it has been scheduled.”
